Broadstairs has been voted "THE BEST SEASIDE TOWN" in the South East to visit !

Number 2 is a flint-built fisherman's cottage steeped in history. It is tucked away in a pretty courtyard called Union Square, just off Harbour Street, very close to Viking Bay. The cottages were originally built to commemorate the Union of England and Scotland in 1707 and this is where the Square got its name.

The cottage is within easy reach of several Blue Flag beaches, local shops, restaurants and wine bars. It is tucked away in an idyllic courtyard yet still close to all the amenities Broadstairs has to offer. The perfect bolthole for a wonderful holiday!

Number 2 has two bedrooms and can comfortably sleep four people.

The cottage is approached from the communal square and up 3 steps to the front door which is on the first floor. You walk straight in to the lounge where there is a comfortable sofa, two armchairs, a TV and DVD player. WIFI is also included.

Spiral stairs lead down to the well-lit basement kitchen which is fully equipped for all your culinary needs. It has a large dining table and two benches which comfortably seat four people for dinner. In addition, the kitchen also has a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a door at the side which leads from the kitchen back up a short flight of stairs to the sunny square, where a table and chairs are provided for you to sit and relax.

The main bedroom is on the second floor and has a luxurious king-size bed. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet.

On the third floor you will find the second bedroom with two single beds and a separate bathroom with toilet and basin.

There is free parking for your car on the Eastern Esplanade. This is only a couple of minutes' walk away from the cottage and close to the famous Bleak House where Charles Dickens wrote some of his novels.

Just park your car and enjoy the history and beauty of this wonderful old town and its surrounding areas.

You will be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome whenever you come to Broadstairs. The town is steeped in history and charm and has been captivating visitors for generations. Number 2 is a fantastic base from which to explore everything the town and surrounding area has to offer.

Lovely cottage in a fab location

  • 4 of 5

Really comfortable beds, the kitchen was great for cooking, everything was very clean. It's a very quirky, lovely little cottage.

The stairs are steep, so perhaps not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Having only one en suite shower between 4 people across two bedrooms could also be a little awkward if you're not all good friends!

Broadstairs weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cottage which was clean and welcoming. Loved the nautical touches around the cottage :) A stones throw away from the beach, restaurants & shops, everything we'd asked for. Phil was a good host responding to our queries quickly which was very reassuring. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Phil.

Amazing location, every need catered for and clean

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is great for 4 people with very good amenities and has been lovingly restored. Would recommend to families with not too young children due to narrow staircase. Location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach, shops and restaurants.

Clean and cosy

  • 4 of 5

A lovely little cottage right in the heart of Broadstairs. Phil was quick to respond to emails and pop round to replace the toaster though was unable to get the hop tap working upstairs - we managed without though. Towels and linen included though there were no dishwasher tablets and only one toilet roll so we did have to pop out to pick these up. Shops literally around the corner!

Owner's Response: Dear Emma. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and I also appreciate your comments. I can rest assured that I did not know about the hot water tap was not working and thank you for pointing this out to me at the time. I have now had this fixed. I also apologise for the dishwasher tablets and only having one toilet roll, these were supposed to be in place and I have spoken to the cleaner about this and it will not happen again! I hope it didn't spoil your holiday and if you had let me know I would have rectified this straight away for you. We hope to see you again as you are a valued customer. Best wishes. Phil.

Broadstairs has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants, bistros and takeaways - Italian, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Chinese, or traditional English food are all within easy walking distance.

If shopping is your pleasure, drive out to the new Shopping Centre at Westwood Cross, just five minutes' away, where you will find a large selection of shops and a department store.

If you enjoy the outdoor life, then take a walk along the Viking Coastal Trail or visit historic Canterbury only 30 minutes' away by car or train.

Being right on the tip of the South East of England, we have our own little micro-climate here producing some of the best weather in the UK.

You will be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome whenever you come to Broadstairs. This picturesque town has a special atmosphere all of its own. Originally a small fishing hamlet, the town's ancient maritime past is nowhere more clearly seen, than in the huddle of cottages, old customs house & 16th century weather-boarded boat house which nestles around the harbour.
