Overview

About the property

3 bedroom terraced town house

River Terrace is situated in a very quiet cul de sac off the market square in the town of St. Neots. It is a terraced house, on three floors. The ground floor has a hallway, downstairs cloakroom, two large cupboards, also a newly fitted kitchen/diner with a door giving access to a patio adjacent to the River Ouse. A new conservatory has been added giving a wonderful place to sit to watch the river passing by.

The second floor has a lounge and a bedroom and the third floor has two more bedrooms and a newly installed shower room and toilet

House on the River Ouse close to Cambridge: If you want a relaxing holiday near to the river, shops and transport River Terrace offers all this. You can sit out on the patio watching the river pass you by and a large park opposite and if you need to go to the shop for a loaf of bread, just go out of the front door and within 3 min you are in the market square. The best of both worlds. A car is an asset but it certainly isn't a necessity as everything is in such easy reach to the house.

Best Riverside location in England

  • 5 of 5

This property is a delight. Roomy and spacious inside over three levels with a great eat-in kitchen opening out to the conservatory that we used every day for most meals. Why? Because it looks out over the Ouse river whch is both quiet with swans to feed and also active on weekends and evenings with narrow boats, rowing shells and dragon boats. Relaxed room with a large screen tv and good internet made watching Wimbledon a pleasure. You can cook, but M&S and Waitrose are with a short walk.

We really enjoyed the walks along the river both sides and had a few meals at the Mill about 30 minutes walk south.

We would thoroughly recommend this Riverside property in St Neots as a base in this part of England and a short drive from the much busier Cambridge.

Just like home - but more scenic!

  • 5 of 5

If you want a sterile, generic, vacation rental, this place isn't for you. But, if you want to stay in a lovely home with a beautiful view, this is the spot. Pros - beautiful, peaceful location; everything you could possibly need in the kitchen; lots of personal decorations making it feel like home. Cons - 2 flights of stairs. Just think of them as great exercise! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Ann!

Lovely stay at River Terace

  • 4 of 5

We had two weeks with exceptional fine weather. We spent most of the time in the veranda, with a beautiful view at the river. It is a nice house to spend a holiday: big and light kitchen with enough equipment, good bedroom with a good bed. Because the house is in a cul-de-sac it is very quit, still the shops, restaurants and pubs are around the corner.

Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

As other people have commented this terraced house is in a very good position just around the corner from the main town square. It has its own off-street parking place just outside the front door, a real advantage in a busy town. Washing and drying machines in the kitchen/dining are a boon for the long term traveler. Great wifi which, again, is now essential for the distance traveler. Large TV in the first floor lounge. The three flights of stairs may be difficult for some. We hope we didn't inconvenience Ann too much by using 2 of the three available beds - the main bed was a little too narrow for us (I think my wife & I are getting bigger). All in all a comfortable and homely residence with a wonderful outlook.

A property in a great location for a holiday

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four and stayed at the property for a very enjoyable week's holiday. The location of the property is one of its main plus points, being so centrally located to the centre of St.Neots and yet in a very peaceful cul de sac. Also being right on the river with such lovely views across to the park. It was great to sit in the conservatory to either eat or relax and watch the many different boats and birds pass by.

The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need and had a warm, homely feel. Ann was very helpful with all enquiries and provided all relevant information about the property once booked.

There was an M&S Food store in walking distance to the property which was great. We also ate out at Pizza Express and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea at Poppy's Vintage Tea Room. As well as exploring St.Neots we visited St. Ives taking a lovely boat trip, Cambridge and also London which was very easy from the station in St.Neots. I would certainly recommend this property as a great holiday base.

St Neots is an old market town situated between Cambridge and Bedford, both within easy reach by bus to Bedford or bus/train to Cambridge. Also the towns of Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stevenage can be reached by train. The train station is a five minute drive away or a 15 min walk. The station is on a main line which will take you to London in 50 min.

A market is held twice weekly on the square where you can buy fresh produce, clothes etc. There are numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance from the house. The River Ouse runs at the bottom of the garden with Riverside Park opposite which is ideal for pleasant walks and also during the summer there are festivals held in the park and on the river.

At nearby Cambridge you can find so many places of interest to include churches, universities, museums, theatres and of course, the River Cam where punting is a great tourist attraction and not to be missed.

Golf: There are three golf clubs in the area. The distance to each would be about 5 km except for St. Neots which is about 2 km away. All are 18 holes.
