Sitting on a ridge overlooking stunning views of Ashdown Forest and the South Downs, Moonwood House provides the perfect setting to socialise and gather with family and friends in a secure and relaxing environment. Moonwood House offers a stylish interior with rich furnishings, comfortable bedding with spa, steam-shower and sporting facilities, as well as multiple locations to relax, taking in the view while reading a good book with a glass of wine (optional!) or reading the Sunday papers with a hot coffee, relaxation is Moonwood.
Facilities offer everything required for the gourmet chef or a simple breakfast. In our contemporary kitchen you will find all the equipment you may need as well as dining sets for up to 20 people. The private dining room for 12 people provides an intimate space with its marble fire place and highly stylish interior.
Within the grounds of Moonwood House there is a grey-green surface tennis court, with all the equipment available if required, including a training Lobster ball machine. Lawns for French bowls and croquet, along with space for ball games and hide and seek.
Moonwood House, built in the late 1800's and the former country residence of the then Chancellor of the Exchequer, acts as a grand setting for contemporary interiors mixed with original art and collectable objects to create a stylish while homely interior.
8 bedrooms provide for a total of 20 people to stay (16 adults +). Children are very welcome at Moonwood House.

The house is maintained to the highest standard by an onsite manager who will vacate the premises upon your arrival, having explained the facilities available. A welcome pack will be provided including some local produce and information.
The Moonwood House team are able to offer a whole host of activities to make your stay special, including restaurant reservations, private tennis lessons, on site yoga, onsite beautician, baby sitting and local transport can be arranged.
One of our most frequent requests is for private dining through a variety of local chefs and caterers as well as food and wine selections. We can also offer serving personnel. The types of food offered can range from a family BBQ to fine dining and service.
The house, court and grounds are fastidiously maintained, providing a real sense of homely luxury and grandeur. Within walking distance there are family and gastro pubs including the renowned Cat, West Hoathly and within 5 minutes drive the Michelin starred Gravetye Manor and award winning Alexander House.
