A self catering rental fully equipped on the fabulous Hesperides complex

Luxury 2 bed, 2 bath self catering holiday apartment on what has to be the most sought after development in the area, perfectly located close to all amenities. The complex itself is large and set well back from surrounding property, the apartment and balconies are completely private and not overlooked. The development has two very large communal pools. The complex was previously an orange grove, the developers have carefully retained some of the grapefruit trees to enhance the pool areas and gardens. it is perfectly located just 15 mins drive from Paphos airport and just 15 mins walk away from the nearest blue flag beach and promenade. Take a short stroll along the palm fringed promenade to the famous Paphos harbour and fish restaurants. The large main balcony has plenty of room for alfresco dining for 6 people whilst watching the sun set .and overlooks one of the two large pools as does the main bedroom balcony. Both balconies also look onto a greenbelt area beyond the pool .

Balconies: The master bedroom and the main living area give access to a balcony overlooking the pool and a greenbelt area beyond. The large main terrace has plenty of room for alfresco dining for 6 people and ovelooks the setting sun. You can also regularly see the Paphos harbour firework display from the balcony.

Location: The Paphos main restaurants, bars,shops etc are 10 to 15 mins walk. There are two local mini marts for all your day to day needs within a few minutes walk. WIFI and an internet TV box are installed giving UK channels, NETFLIX etc.

Having travelled the full length of the of the beautiful island we finally settled on the perfectly located Hesperides gardens complex. It's close enough to all ameneties but far enough away for peace when we need it.

Secure, clean, modern appartment

The owners are absolutely fabulous, great communication and professional.

A great base location 15 minutes drive from Paphos airport. 10 minutes level walk to Paphos Harbour and restaurants. If you are looking for a sandy beach you will need a car or rely on public transport. (to be able to reach all locations comfortably hire a four wheel drive) Coral bay 15 minutes by car.

The appartment has its own parking space and is located on the 1st floor which is reached by stairs or a lift. Very secure, large, clean and well equipt with good air con. With a queen sized master bed with air conditioning and on suite bathroom. Two comfortable single beds in the second bedroom also with air conditioning. And family bathroom. Very large balcony area with seating and dining for a minimum of 6 people. Fantastic welcome pack on arrival which included a lot of useful information on restaurants, bars etc. When a slight problem occurred with one air conditioning unit it was sorted within hours of contact. The smaller pool located opposite the apartment was very quiet and therefore we used more than the big pool which was used by a lot of families and children.

All in all one of the best value appartments we have used and happy to recommend to others.

*The only slight disappointment was the sunbeds around the pool. New sunbeds were arriving before we left but we're not in use.

I would like to thank Alun and family for looking after our apartment so well during their stay and for taking the trouble to submit such a long and excellent review. Just to correct two points, the apartment is on the second floor not the first. Also there are sandy beaches in walking distance (20 mins) but are easily missed if you are not aware of them. When you get to the seafront take a left and follow the path around in front to the large hotels, there are a number of sandy beaches along this route. Pete

Well equipped and comfortable base for a Cyprus holiday

The apartment is roomy and had everything my wife and I needed for our two week stay. The weather was warm for October (upper 20's) so the air conditioning and fans in the living area and bedrooms were welcome. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge freezer, good sized oven, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. and ample dishes, cutlery, pots and pans etc. It is well located, only a five or ten minute drive to the beach, the harbour, the Tombs of Kings, the large Kings Avenue shopping mall etc. Entertainment is provided by a TV with Netflix (which we didn't use) and a DVD player (which we did use), and there is a mini stereo as well as an ipod dock to provide music. The owner, Pete, responded quickly and helpfully to all our questions, and his recommended car hire worked well for us as the company brought us from the airport to the apartment (saving time and anxiety as we did not have to search for the location when we arrived) and then back to the airport at the end of our stay. The apartment block is not too easy to find on your own as the name is not prominently displayed on the road (as we found on returning from our first shopping trip!) but once you know your way around it is a doddle! It would have been useful to have been given some written directions to avoid some lost time circling the area until we found it again (with the help of the local mini-market staff!). Unlike some of the other guests we found the king size bed a little on the firm side for our preference, but we soon adapted to it and slept well - there is little extraneous noise and the air conditioning or fan kept us comfortable. A change of bed linen would have been useful, although it was quite possible to wash and dry the linen during the day (using the provided washing machine) and then re-use it. The pools are both clean and very refreshing when the sun got a bit too much, although some of the sun beds and umbrellas are looking a little the worse for wear now.

All in all it was a good place to stay in Paphos, and we had a great time there.

Not here - the bed was I think a queen size bed - 6ft wide? with very deep mattress and was very comfortable. The air conditioning is a godsend in both bedrooms and lounge although you tend to get acclimatised to the weather after a few days and don't need it on as often.

As the apartments are in a residential area, it is very quiet and so there is no disturbing noise in the early hours.

The apartment is probably about 15 minutes walk for us from the main Paphos area and I would recommend a car, although there did seem to be quite a lot of buses and taxis running around. Paphos itself is a wonderful town to explore especially if you like to look at archeological sites as the whole town has been designated a World Heritage Site. It seems that everywhere you go there are the remains of some Roman house or other. Would definitely recommend the mosaics at the site behind the port, the tombs of the kings and also the area around St Paul's Pillars which is more extensive than you think it would be from the guides. I would definitely recommend that you take a cheerful umbrella to use as a parasol against the heat of the sun - it makes visiting these places much more comfortable together with a good pair of walking shoes.

We revisited Nicosia while we were there as the border is now open and you can go through to the Turkish side which is like going back in time by several decades. Nicosia is about two hours drive away but if you have the car it is well worth the trip and if you do get to visit other areas of the island try to see Famagusta and the ghost town of Varosha (you can't get in the town but you can see it from a distance).

All in all, Cyprus is a lovely island to visit and this apartment was the icing on the cake. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to other visitors and it was a pleasure dealing with Pete throughout the booking. I am always a bit cautious when it comes to dealing with strangers especially when money is changing hands on trust, however I'm happy to confirm that this is the genuine deal. Try it - you will definitely be glad you did.

Great apartment and complex, definitely recommend!

This was our second visit to Cyprus having been to Limassol some years ago before the border had opened in Nicosia. That time, we only visited Paphos for the water park but thought it looked like a lovely place to visit again. We are not keen on hotel bedrooms as we like our home comforts and space to chill out and our daughter likes to have a bedroom of her own rather than sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge and so this two bedroom two bathroom apartment perfectly suited our needs.

The apartment complex is clean, tidy, well kept and has lovely landscaped gardens including several grapefruit trees which were laden with young fruit while we were there. There are two pools. The smaller pool is hardly used and when we used it we were often the only ones in the pool - it was like having your own villa pool. That said, we did prefer the larger pool which was easier to get in having a hand rail and was a bit deeper. The apartments are secure, the external door being accessed by a security key.

The apartment is a delight. It is clean and spacious and well looked after by Jackie. There was a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, wine, bread, jam even baked beans which meant our breakfast was sorted and there was no rush to get to the supermarket.

There is a fully fitted kitchen with exceptionally clean oven (don't think it gets used often :-)) and a large fridge freezer which was ample for our needs. There is also a washing machine which is excellent for washing clothes, towels and sheets through the holiday. In the lounge area there are two large comfy sofas, one of which doubles as a sofa bed for large parties. There is also Satellite TV although we tended to find it was dominated by Arabian channels - not sure if it is tuned properly - I'm sure with a bit of tweaking it would be fine. We didn't really watch any TV though, we mainly listened to music when we were in the apartment. Best to take CDs with you or travel speakers as I don't think there is a audio in port on the TV or music centre - we couldn't find one - no doubt the owner will advise if there is!

The two bathrooms are very modern and there was very hot water at all times even though it is solar powered - we never had any problems with showers.

The absolutely best thing for us though was the comfy bed - it is always hit and miss when you go away as to whether you will sleep well and it is all too often that the beds are like boards and you end up with backache. continued...

Perfect Holiday, Perfect holiday apartment!

This holiday apartment is a hidden gem. The location as described in the details was brilliant. A 20 minute stroll (no hills, very easy walk) gets you down into the town centre, the harbour and all that Pafos has to offer. There are several supermarkets nearby where you can get milk, bread and newspapers and also a lovely little diner - Pambis - a 15 minute walk away where they serve excellent food. A 10 minute drive gets you to Pafos Mall where there is large supermarket with everything you need.

Hesperides Gardens complex is clean and beautiful. It must have the best pool in the area on an apartment complex - we saw nothing to rival it during our stay. Shade is provided by grapefruit and orange trees and the whole development is sympathetically done - the greenest complex in the area in our opinion. The pool and surrounding area is exceptionally clean and safe - great for children.

We met some lovely people around the pool and our teenage son made some good friends. This complex is great for families with teenagers or small children and the mix around the pool was fabulous.

The apartment was perfect - a real home from home. Exceptionally clean, fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. Air conditioning was provided free with the booking and was very welcome in August. Ceiling fans in every room also helped us stay cool.

Pafos has something for everyone. With Peter's help we hired a car and explored the island and all it has to offer.

Peter was very helpful with sorting out car hire for us and allowing us to extend our stay on our last day to accommodate our late flight home. The car hire also included transfers directly to the apartment and back to the airport which meant we didnt get lost as soon as we arrived - a bonus as it was 2.00 am!!

All in all I would thoroughly recommend the apartment and Hesperides Gardens as a brilliant place for a relaxing break. Far enough away from the bustle of Pafos to enjoy peaceful days and, importantly, get a good nights sleep but a stroll away from it all... great restaurants, Seagull and The Pelican down by the harbour were particular favourites and for teenagers/the young at heart a lively "bar street" with a Linekars and Flairs - we would definitely go back and hope to soon.

A Great Holiday in a Great Location

Our first visit to Cyprus was to combine attendance at a family wedding with a week's holiday. I must say, my nephew made the right decision for the location of his wedding, and I made an equally good decision for our accommodation.

The website description of the apartment, the development it is in, and its location and proximity to other attractions in and around Paphos were all spot on. The apartment is close enough to the livelier attractions of Kato Paphos to make them easily accessible by foot or by car, but far enough away to provide a quiet and peaceful base. In that respect I would say the location could not be bettered.

The apartment itself was clean, spacious and well appointed with furnishings and facilities. The balcony in particular is probably the largest I've come across in a 2 bedroomed apartment and provides a great place for breakfast or to chill out in the afternoon or evening. The balcony overlooks the smaller (but still very generously sized) pool which, when we used it, we usually had to ouselves. The welcome pack provided by the owner on arrival was also much appreciated.

All my dealings with the owner were very promptly responded to and extremely amicable. He provided excellent advice regarding airport transfers and car hire, as well as useful advice on the local attractions.

The local attractions are many and varied, including the lively harbour area with good restaurants and bars, water sports and activities, the many archeological remains, and the beautiful coutryside and villages of the Akamas hills to the north. We packed in as much as we could in our one week holiday, and I genuinely came away wishing we'd booked a second week.

The weather was also a pleasant surprise. Our home base is Dubai, so it was very pleasant to leave behind the 45+degree temperatures there in mid July for the refreshing low 30's of Cyprus. The light breeze kept it very comfortable and it never felt hot, sticky and oppressive, as I've known it to be in other mediterranean areas. Other family members with UK home bases equally enjoyed the weather.

All in all, every aspect of the holiuday was a very pleasurable experience. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend and in fact we hope to return ourselves in the not too distant future.

The holiday rental apartment is perfectly located, close to but not on top of the main Paphos amenities, bars restaurants Harbour, shops and blue flag beach. The charming Paphos old town is within 5 mins drive, here you will find the real Paphos with its quaint streets, famous market and restaurants with panoramic views. The world famous Pahos mosaics and Tombs of the Kings are an easy walk. For the more adventurous the Aphrodite water park is 10 mins drive and the beautiful Troodos mountains are a 90 minute drive away. The two balconies look on to green belt parkland and are not overlooked, this provides a pleasant outlook when dining alfresco. The setting sun gives black silhouetted trees against a lovely luminous orange backdrop. The apartment complex itself is large and set well back from surrounding property.
