|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
This is a very bright and airy 2 bedroom flat. On the raised ground floor of an imposing terraced house, the flat has high ceilings and large windows. It offers 2 double bedrooms (one with queen sized bed and the other a small double) and a modern shower room. It has an extremely well equipped open plan kitchen/living room, which has an everyday use comfortable sofa bed for an extra short term guest. It is beautifully presented and very well located. Clean and quiet. I think It is really suitable for 2 to 4 people, as both the beds and the sofa bed are doubles, NOT twins, so the beds do need to be shared.(there is no charge if the 4th person prefers to use the sofa bed). The flat is a wonderful comfortable modern apartment for this number, but at 4+, it is a bit tight for space, so I would say only suitable for very short stays for larger groups.
It is conveniently situated within easy walking distance of various tube lines,(Piccadilly, metropolitan, circle, hammersmith and city) and is within striking distance of the M4 and Heathrow airport. On my personal site www.stayatthegrove.com you will find links to a cab company which does airport pick up and drop off (£36 for collection, £26 for drop off), and for those driving, a link to car parking.
There is a lovely village feel to the avenue, sitting in the Brackenbury Village area of London, with a small selection of quality restaurants a short walk down the road, as well as a Deli, and local convenience stores for groceries. The Grove Bar and Restaurant offers a 15% discount off its A La Carte menu to guests of the apartment.(vouchers in the Welcome Folder.)
The Hammersmith Apollo, the Westfield shopping center and the Shepherds Bush Empire are all close by, as well as The Vue cinema.
There is a £50 surcharge for use of the sofa bed for parties of more than 4 people.
If the apartment is empty we are happy to negotiate discounts for last minute bookings, and discounts for one couple.
There is also a £60 end of stay cleaning charge, to be included in balance of payment.
£200 damages deposit payable which can be a Euro or Sterling cheque.
I am able to accept payment by card or bank transfer.
We ask 25% of total rental fee to secure dates, with the balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.

Darian Day purchased this apartment in 2012
Having seen my girls through school and on their way into the big wide world, I decided I would really like a little bolt hole in London. I have lived in Chelsea, Chiswick, and Holland Park at different stages of my life, but have unreservably absolutely fallen in love with Hammersmith Grove. It is SO accessible, close to multiple transport links, the bedrooms so peaceful, yet it is so central and I have made friends with local restaurants etc in no time because of the village like atmosphere. Not being able to afford the luxury of a flat just for us, I decided to let it out on a short term basis, so my family and I get to stay in it ourselves when it is empty, but in the meantime the rentals mean it pays for itself !
The huge windows let in so much light, the flat is bright and airy. It is not a 'home', it is a sexy little London 'pad'.....it always feels like being on holiday in the City, an escape, a treat!
Three of us -- two grandparents and a tolerant 14-year-old granddaughter -- found this flat ideal for a post-Christmas week in London. The flat itself is not large, but there was plenty of space for what we needed and the two bedrooms provided privacy. It was clean, had everything you want for a short visit and was well-suited for preparing the occasional meal, though we never did. We also never figured out how to work the television, and while Darian said she'd be happy to walk us technological morons through the simple process, we ended up doing so many other things that we never had occasion to want to turn it on again. (If Downton Abbey were still on, that would have been a different story.) In any case, the flat is about a five-minute walk from a "local" (read: smaller) Sainsbury's supermarket, which is right across from the underground Goldhawk stop. It's about a 12-minute walk in the other direction to the downtown Hammersmith area, where there is a slew of restaurants, a Marks and Spencer, a larger Sainsbury's, a mall and, well, you get the idea. That's also the site of the Hammersmith underground stop -- meaning it's a little further away than Goldhawk, but it's also a direct connection via either the Piccadilly or District lines to the center of London (tourist sites, theater district, etc.) So the slightly longer walk means a shorter underground ride in most cases. One of the really nice things about the flat's location is that it's less than five minutes from two different Bertotti's shops (one in each direction along Hammersmith Grove), where you can get wonderful and reasonably priced coffees, breakfast items, gelato and other treats that seem entirely reasonable when you're on vacation. If you're heading into town, or heading home in the afternoon, it's a stop worth making -- though naturally you're also never more than a few paces away from a Starbucks, like the one in the Hammersmith station. We would definitely return. No, not to Starbucks., To the flat. And Bertotti's.
This is a lovely apartment in a great location. The owner shows great care and hospitality for guests. We have stayed twice now. I would highly recommend for small (ie, no more than 2 kids) families.
This beautiful 2-bedroom property was a delight to find. I needed somewhere to stay (and work from 'home') for several weeks with quick transport links into the West End and the City of London. This property was perfect for this. It was fresh, modern and very tastefully decorated (the owner rightfully takes great care to keep it in excellent condition). I stayed there on my own, but it would suit 2, possibly even 3 people very well. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and quick to respond with any queries. The only minor inconvenience is there is no washing machine in the property so I had to use a local laundry. The street isn't too busy (my fear when I saw it on a map) and the bedrooms face on to the quieter back gardens.
Pros: very clean, recently renovated, 5 min walk to tube, owner easy to work with, safe neighborhood.
Cons: noisey tenants upstairs in morning, bed in master room could be more comfortable.
Overall good value, I'd recommend.
The flat is just as described. It was clean, bright and warmly decorated. It was a tiny bit tight for our family of 4 but certainly manageable. It's a 10-15 minute walk from both Shepherd Bush Station and Hammersmith Station on a quiet neighborhood street with several nice restaurants nearby. We will stay here on our next trip to London.
We really liked Hammersmith grove, as a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 small children it was perfect for us. The apartment is well furnished, with all the equipment to make breakie or a meal. Darian was very quick to respond. A few years back we lived in north west London for several years so I was unsure about Hammersmith however when we visit again I'd definitely stay here, great shops super close and the tube is close with a great variety of lines. Felt safe walking back to the apartment at night, even late at night when I caught up with friends without the family. Thanks Darian for a fabulous apartment- your thoughtful touches were really appreciated
Fabulous 2 bedroom apartment in Central London. Situated on a tree lined avenue with a selection of eateries just a minute away, this is a perfect London getaway. The flat is wonderfully located for various tube lines, with Goldhawk road and Hammersmith just a short walk away, and it has easy access to M4 motorway, Heathrow and the West.
Located on the raised ground floor of an imposing terraced house, it offers 2 double bedrooms, a well designed shower room and a kitchen living room.
It sleeps 4 comfortably, and has a everyday use sofa bed in the sitting room for short stays.
The Hammersmith Apollo, The Lyric Theatre and the Shepherds Bush Empire are a walk away. And Earls Court and Olympia, and Westfield shopping Mall, a short journey.
The Grove restaurant is offering a 15% discount off their A La Carte menu for guests of the apartment and the Italian Gelato cafe has a loyalty card.
There is a beauty salon which offers facials and massage, details can be found in the folder in the apartment.
