About the property

Interior designed 2 double bedroom raised ground floor flat. Close to tubes.

This is a very bright and airy 2 bedroom flat. On the raised ground floor of an imposing terraced house, the flat has high ceilings and large windows. It offers 2 double bedrooms (one with queen sized bed and the other a small double) and a modern shower room. It has an extremely well equipped open plan kitchen/living room, which has an everyday use comfortable sofa bed for an extra short term guest. It is beautifully presented and very well located. Clean and quiet. I think It is really suitable for 2 to 4 people, as both the beds and the sofa bed are doubles, NOT twins, so the beds do need to be shared.(there is no charge if the 4th person prefers to use the sofa bed). The flat is a wonderful comfortable modern apartment for this number, but at 4+, it is a bit tight for space, so I would say only suitable for very short stays for larger groups.

It is conveniently situated within easy walking distance of various tube lines,(Piccadilly, metropolitan, circle, hammersmith and city) and is within striking distance of the M4 and Heathrow airport. On my personal site www.stayatthegrove.com you will find links to a cab company which does airport pick up and drop off (£36 for collection, £26 for drop off), and for those driving, a link to car parking.

There is a lovely village feel to the avenue,sitting in the Brackenbury Village area of London, with a small selection of quality restaurants a short walk down the road, as well as a Deli, and local convenience stores for groceries. The Grove Bar and Restaurant offers a 15% discount off its A La Carte menu to guests of the apartment.(vouchers in the Welcome Folder.)

The Hammersmith Apollo, the Westfield shopping center and the Shepherds Bush Empire are all close by, as well as The Vue cinema.

There is a £50 surcharge for use of the sofa bed for parties of more than 4 people.

If the apartment is empty we are happy to negotiate discounts for last minute bookings, and discounts for one couple.

There is also a £60 end of stay cleaning charge, to be included in balance of payment.

£200 damages deposit payable which can be a Euro or Sterling cheque.

I am able to accept payment by card or bank transfer.

We ask 25% of total rental fee to secure dates, with the balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.

  • PLEASE NOTE This flat sleeps 4/6 people, with 2 double bedrooms,both with wardrobes however one is quite tight!...and a proper sofa bed with an upgraded mattress suitable for every night use, however, we do charge extra if this is going to be used, and it is only on offer for short stays. Prices are based on 4 people staying using the 2 double bedrooms, any extra guests are charged at £50 per person and groups of as many as 6 are at owners discretion.

Notes:
I do provide 2 pay as you go mobile phones. The have sim cards in them which are free to use to talk to one another, and extremely inexpensive to call abroad....eg Australian land line 4 p per minute. I am happy for my tenants to take advantage of these phones, and ask only that they are left topped up for our next overseas visitors.

Perfect location, comfortable and charming flat

We loved our location- close to tube and lovely small shops and restaurants close made picking up staples very simple. The flat is nicely laid out and thoughtfully planned. Wi-Fi was good which is important to us. The kitchen is nicely equipped - coffeemaker is a French press which we love and an electric kettle for heating water amazingly fast! Bathroom is fairly large with a generously sized shower and plenty of hot water. Master bedroom has closet and dresser so easy to hang clothes, plus room to store suitcase. Hairdryer provided works better/faster than mine at home😎�� There is very little noise in the flat - no street noise and very We did not notice any street noise and very minimal overhead noise. This is the middle flat, so one below and one above, I hope the downstairs neighbors found us as quiet as we found our upstairs neighbors! The other huge plus for us was The Grove restaurant just between the flat and the tube station. This quickly became our local hangout- we ate there for several breakfasts, many dinners and the odd lunch. Staff were welcoming and fun, their food was fabulous and well priced.

The owner, Darian, was very responsive to our questions and very fast in her responses. She has put together a very helpful book on the flat as well as local area that we found very informative and useful,

The one drawback to the flat was the mattresses- we found them to be very soft and not supportive. Of course, this is a subjective thing, so others may find they are perfect.

This really is an ideally located flat, very comfortable.

Perfect London flat for family of 4

This was the perfect place to stay for myself my husband and my 2 teen boys. The flat was cosy and decorated beautifully. Had all the essentials and was located so close to Hammersmith station and so many great shops. We never wanted for anything.

So close to a grocery that we stocked the flat day one and had breakfasts and late night snacks all week.

I hope to stay here again if we ever get back to the UK.

I highly recommend staying here.

First Impressions Make Lasting Impressions

My husband and I visited London for the first time from Nov 6th to the 11th and we are so grateful to have come across Darian's flat. She is wonderful to work with, intuitive, and quick to respond to emails and calls. I had a lot of questions prior to the trip and she sensed my nervousness. So, she had Karen (who is also the sweetest) greet us at the flat on the day we arrived. Karen gave us a lot of good and practical tips (i.e. Where the grocery stores are located, access to the underground, info for back up keys in case we locked ourselves out, etc). We were able to pick up snacks that very night to help us with our jet-lag late-night snacking. The apartment is so cute and clean! We loved the windows and natural light. Also, the shower head is amazing and super nice after a long day of sight seeing and walking. What's also great is the flat is on a quiet residential street that is close to two different major stations to the underground. We loved the underground and used it to go every where! Around us were also some very nice restaurants like, The Brackenbury. We ate there twice and highly recommend it. The only thing I would suggest is more bath towels. We only had two and were there for a week. Also, be aware of the noise from the neighbors upstairs. It was easy to hear them in the morning getting ready for their day. They were kind of our alarm clock. Their music was also audible at times. However, downstairs neighbor was really nice. He helped us with the recycling system. Overall, we would definitely stay there again the next time we're in London! Thanks for everything, Darian and Karen.

Generally we have an issue with too many being left out, so I guess just being the 2 of you the extras weren't left out in the second bedroom... anyway apologies for that, but I am delighted your trip went well and you enjoyed all that Hammersmith Grove has to offer! This was a very comfortable flat and was very convenient to the Tube, only about 10 minutes away.

The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed! Darian was a great hostess and was very responsive throughout the entire process. We loved the location and the proximity to the London Underground system—it was VERY easy to get anywhere we wanted to go (and this was our first trip to London!). There are great restaurants and coffee shops just a couple blocks away and along the walk to the Underground which was very convenient. The apartment was very clean and had plenty of room. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Had a great vacation in your flat

We had a great stay in your flat exploring London. The cozy, well equipped and clean apartment fit our family of two adults, a 16 year old and two 14 year olds comfortably. Transportation and shopping are close by. We loved The Grove and Kerbisher and Malt restaurants. We will come back next time we are in London.

Just right.

Could not have asked for more. Wonderful longer stay. Great location. Ease of access to Tube stations. Quick ride from Heathrow and central London sites. Flat is room enough for the 2 adults and 2 teens. Unit nicely appointed an most comfortable after walking the town all day. Nice view of the garden. Darian and Karen most welcoming and accommodating. Nice residential setting with historical townhomes on mature tree lined street. No car necessary.

Why Darian Day chose Hammersmith

Having seen my girls through school and on their way into the big wide world, I decided I would really like a little bolt hole in London. I have lived in Chelsea, Chiswick, and Holland Park at different stages of my life, but have unreservably absolutely fallen in love with Hammersmith Grove. It is SO accessible, close to multiple transport links, the bedrooms so peaceful,yet it is so central and I have made friends with local restaurants etc in no time because of the village like atmosphere. Not being able to afford the luxury of a flat just for us, I decided to let it out on a short term basis, so my family and I get to stay in it ourselves when it is empty, but in the meantime the rentals mean it pays for itself !

What makes this apartment unique

The huge windows let in so much light, the flat is bright and airy. It is not a 'home', it is a sexy little London 'pad'.....it always feels like being on holiday in the City, an escape, a treat!

The Grove restaurant is offering a 15% discount off their A La Carte menu for guests of the apartment and the Italian Gelato cafe has a loyalty card.

There is a beauty salon which offers facials and massage, details can be found in the folder in the apartment.
