This charming detached country house with 1 acre of mature gardens & 2 acre fruit orchard (overall 6 acres). Cherrytrees Farm is the perfect 'get away from it all' base to explore London, Norwich (1 hour) and the South East..

Spacious accommodation includes large open hallway with solid hardwood floors to all ground floor rooms.Three reception rooms inc; Lounge with open fireplace and wood burner, Leather Sofas, TV DVD. Elegant Dining room. Study/music room. Traditional Farmhouse kitchen includes double electric oven/gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer etc. Granite table & chairs, french doors open to a beautiful solid hardwood decked verandah perfect for 'al fresco' dining or relaxing with quality outdoor furniture & cushions. Utility room W/M & T/Dryer. door to WC. Wi-Fi.

Upstairs; Four double bedrooms with views over gardens & orchard. (1 x ensuite). Large luxury family bathroom tiled in marble with corner bath, separate shower & WC. Separate games room with table tennis table in garden.

There are four double bedrooms, 2 king size and 2 double. There is also a travel cot available.

Please note that there is an adjoining door from bedroom 3 & 4 (access to bedroom 3 is via bedroom 4).

There are several agricultural non-habitable outbuildings on part of the land, including a storage unit & large greenhouse which are private and therefore not accessible.

Cherrytrees Farm has been our family home for almost 20 years and is very well furnished and maintained.

Lovely property in beautiful large grounds.

What a find this place was!Ideally placed to explore the picturesque Stour Valley and the attractive villages of Dedham and E.Bergholt and to visit Flatford Mill.

The accommodation is of a very high standard perfect for a family celebration.

Owners Amanda and Nigel were thoughtful by leaving cupboard basics to get us started ,a chocolate cake and bubbly.Nice touch.

The games room and Cherry Orchard with organic cherries was just the icing on the cake.Children loved it and so good to see them wandering in the grounds freely.Definitely will use again.

Lovely house in spacious grounds

We enjoyed our stay at Cherrytrees farm. The property is modern, well-maintained and clean. It has many excellent features including: a very well-eqiupped kitchen diner, a large verandah overlooking spacious gardens, and a separate building housing a table tennis room.

We particularly liked the nearby village of Dedham and afternoon tea in the Essex Rose. Colchester castle and the adjacent park are well worth a visit. We were pleasantly surprised by Frinton-On-Sea. There are several leisure centres and soft play areas for younger children within easy reach - our favourite was the Kingfisher centre in Sudbury.

Cosy, warm and homely .... A really special place

Our second visit to the beautiful Cherry Tree Farm. We settled right back in, our youngest jet lagged child went straight up the stairs, found a bed and was asleep before I made it upstairs with the suitcases! There was tea and coffee and fruit and brioche .... A wonderful breakfast feast that kept us going until we were able to get to the shops a little later in the day . The place was warm and homely, and though we did miss the ripe cherries we were so lucky to have last visit, we still enjoyed our stay a whole heap and would happily visit again when next in the uk .

Gorgeous! Unhesitatingly recommended!

I booked Cherrytrees Farm for a long weekend for a 'family get-together' to celebrate my father-in-law's 85th birthday. Our party comprised of 8 people including 3 couples. The size of house was ideal and in particular, the downstairs felt very spacious. The house is in a beautiful setting and in excellent condition throughout. The weather throughout our stay was lovely so we were able to make full use of the garden and rear terrace, which runs the width of the house. This lovely covered area has an array of quality chairs and tables: perfect for al Fresco dining and we had breakfast outside every morning of our stay! The kitchen is the better equipped than my own kitchen and as we self catered, we didn't want for any gadget, cooking utensil, pan or piece of equipment. The kitchen has a lovely big breakfast table and a useful utility room adjacent to store food as required. The dining room easily accommodated us all and the lounge provided a very cosy space for us to chill out in the evenings in front of the woodburning stove. The bedrooms were all very different and ours was a double with a most comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern, clean and comes equipped with high quality toiletries. As other reviewers have pointed out, one of the bedrooms is accessed through another, but that did not not bother us at all. The whole feel of the place was 'home from home' - if only my own home was as gorgeous and well maintained!! We all loved it and will be booking again! Thank you to Amanda and Nigel for such friendly and attentive service. We especially loved the gorgeous welcome biscuits and flexibility over check in and check out times.

comfortable house in lovely grounds

Lovely welcome, nice feeling of trust and the offer of using store cupboard ingredients. Very clean and lots of towels!Great pubs for eating out nearby, (Wooden Fender closest, also Sun Inn at Dedham- excellent .) beautiful location, delightful towns/villages close by.

Perfectly idyllic

The listing really does not do this property justice. It was just perfect.

We were met promptly as arranged and given a very comprehensive welcome [orientation] to the property which looked, and was, exceptionally clean, tidy and well-maintained.

Situated between Colchester and Ipswich the property offers solitude from the hustle and bustle of the city but easy access to the major centres.

The fish & chip shop in Ardleigh is a must visit as is a visit to the Wooden Fender pub/restaurant.

A small co-op exists in Dedham but the larger one in Manningtree offers a much larger selection of products. Both Dedham & Manningtree are well worth a quick visit even if you don't need any groceries.

The entire pre- and post-rental service from the owners was exemplary and we have no hesitation in recommending the property to family and friends.

When we pass this way again we will DEFINITELY be looking to make this property our "home" base.

Cherrytrees Farm is located in the heart of constable country just a few minutes drive from the picturesque village of Dedham, with its numerous tourist attractions including boating along the river to Flatford Mill. Dedham has 4 award winning restaurants, numerous gastro pubs serving fresh local produce, a local crafts mill and a traditional english tea shop - open 7 days per week.

The small village of Ardleigh is a short drive (10 minute walk) and has two churches, a village shop, post office, traditional pub and an excellent 'fish & chip' shop.

Manningtree is just 2 miles away, offering several traditional english pubs, an excellent italian restaurant with a traditional wood fired pizza oven and many international restaurants inc. indian & chinese. Manningtree main line railways station with direct trains to Ipswich (10 minutes), Norwich (50 minutes) and London (55 minutes). Local taxi service is also available.

Cherrytrees Farm is just 7 miles from Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England with many attractions including Colchester Castle, Castle Park with boating lake & Roman Ruins, Museums, weekly market, department stores & shops, bars & over 40 excellent restaurants open every day. Buses to Colchester town run every 30 minutes from just outside Cherrytrees Farm (last bus 2300 hours).

Clacton on Sea, Walton on the Naze & Frinton on Sea is just 20 minutes drive, offering many beach activities including a Pier and Amusements for all ages.

Easy access to Central London with a direct line to London in under 1 hour from Manningtree Station which is just 5 mins drive away. All main services are connected water, gas, electricity and wireless high speed broadband.
