About the property

Brief Description

First floor apartment ideally suited for families with children. Fantastic location in Lagos 5 mins walk to fabulous beaches Praia do Camilo and Praia Dona Ana. Stunning cliff top walks to Ponta da Piedade (the lighthouse) and only 15 minutes walk from the beautiful historic center of Lagos. The apartment has two double bedrooms; the main with a double bed and the second bedroom with two singles. It has all the amenities that are needed to enjoy a fantastic holiday - air conditioning in the dining room/lounge, TV, DVD player with substantial collection of DVDs/games etc.. WiFi is available, so staying in touch with family and friends is no problem.

The kitchen is fully equipped as is the bathroom with full sized bath with shower above, wash basin with cupboards beneath WC and bidet. The lounge and master bedroom go out onto a large balcony that overlooks the pool in this small, 10 apartment condominium. The balcony faces south east and so is perfect for leisurely meal times and relaxing in the sun. The condominium is fully gated and surrounded by hedges which allow for privacy. The apartment is in a residential area and is extremely quiet despite it being close to Lagos itself. There are many varied restaurants within easy walking distance and there is sufficient parking for the residents of the condominium.

The Area:

The apartment is a few minutes stroll from the lighthouse at Ponta da Piedade and offers easy access to fabulous sandy cove beaches which are ideal for enjoying a swim or snorkeling, the closest is Praia do Camilo and Praia Dona Ana, both just 5 minutes walk. If your preference is for longer sandy beaches these are also close by at Praia do Carnavial and Praia de Porto de Mos. There are numerous great fish restaurants in the area Restaurante O Camilo, Restaurante O Antonio, as well as a host of others within a short walking distance. The historic centre of Lagos itself is only around a 15 minute walk from the apartment and offers great shopping and masses of different styles of restaurants both typically Portuguese and international catering for all tastes and budgets. Apart from the immediate area a 30 minute drive brings you to the west coast, which has a very different atmosphere to that of the south coast resorts. The west coast is the surfers coast; the waves are spectacular and the scenery glorious. Along the southern coast there are the small resorts of Luz, Burgau, and Salema which are well worth a visit.

The Apartment

As briefly mentioned, the apartment is fully equipped with all the amenities needed for a great stay. On your arrival in Lagos we have a "meet and greet" service to introduce you to the apartment and answer any questions that you may have. This is included in the rental price. If you chose, a small welcome pack can be arranged for an extra charge of 20 Euro. Bed linen and towels, both for use in the apartment and on the beach are included. The house towels and bed linen are changed weekly when the apartment is given a quick clean. There is a box on the balcony that contains a variety of beach equipment, folding beach chairs, beach mats and toys for the beach.

We are Peter and Irena; we bought the apartment after staying in it as guests as we were so impressed with it and its location in the lovely town of Lagos. After living and working in the UK we decided to uproot and head for Irena's home region in Bavaria, Germany as well as living our dream of having a place to visit in the sun here in Portugal.
