NOT FOR THOSE WHO PREFER TO STAY in Chelsea and Kensington, but for most people it's a great central location to explore London, with a mix of cultures.Vibrant and culturally diverse, this neighbourhood has its own distinct character.

My flat is within standart council building on the border of London´s zone 1, in the heart of the city! It's a quiet place in Walworth, between Camberwell and Elephant & Castle, in the London borough of Southwark, south of the river. Walworth is a cheap-and-cheerful, multi-cultural part of London close to the centre with excellent transport links.

LOCATION

The building is situated on Thurlow Street in Walworth. The property is in close proximity to local shopping and transport facilities, such as East Street Market, Walworth Road, Old Kent Road (big Tesco, Asda, Lidl, Sportsdirect, Homebase) and Elephant & Castle Tube Station.

Only a couple of minutes' walk from the big main street with a Tesco and Morrison's (supermarkets) nearby, as well as a 24-hour Turkish grocery shop which sells lovely fresh produce and a good selection of beer! There are kebab shops, Caribbean food, a nice little pizza restaurant and more, all a short walk away on the main road. There is also a decent sized park nearby if you like jogging.

TRANSPORT

From here you can go to Victoria, the main station in London, in just 15 min by bus. 10 minutes on the bus to Waterloo or London Bridge, 15 minutes to Trafalgar Square, 25 minutes to Oxford St. Easy access to the West End and the square mile (St. Paul's, the Gherkin etc.), and on several night bus routes. That´s really good for those who need to save time.

The tube and railway station (Elephant & Castle) are just one block away from the flat and all central London sights are reachable by bus which you can take just outside the building. That´s a great advantage because the tube fare is more than double the price! This neighbourhood is perfect for transport because you can go from here anywhere in London and very quick!

BEDROOM

The bedroom is in split level flat perfect for a couple, has a double bed, 2 bedside tables, wardrobe, desk/dressing table, all empty for your use. Real wood floor, neutral decor, large window. The bed is great! everyone that has sleep there say the a great bed!! I bought the mattress very recently and yes it's very comfortable for your back (it's not a cheap one). Clean bedlinen and towels provided.

BATHROOM

The bathroom is very spacious and you will have a small cabinet for yourself. Three piece suite shared with owner. Power shower and bath, and a never-ending supply of hot water for a long soak after a hard day’s sightseeing.

KITCHEN

You can help yourself to the facilities such as microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer in the fully equipped kitchen/dinning room with providing views over London landmarks, such as the London Eye and the Shard Building.

Large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, water filter. Washing machine and stove is not available for guests if you are desperate please ask me.

Not long ago I was engaged in the hotel industry for almost 7 years specifically in the area of room sales. I was affiliated with reputable hotel brands such as Sheraton, Hilton and InterContinental Hotel Group, Radisson, Dorchester and Marriot in Park lane, The Brown’s in Piccadilly and Sofitel St.James and some boutique brands. Therefore I know plenty about what constitutes a well-appointed and welcoming interim home for any guest. Being born in Turkmenistan, Ashgabat - Central Asia - means that the hospitality is in my veins and I will try my best to accommodate you at your comfort.

I had a wonderful stay!

Adelya created a very detailed profile of the area, building and the room with lots of advices and suggestions. Location is very central - zone 1. Plenty of transport links, the bus stop is just minutes away from the building. Flat is exactly as described. Cooking facility is not provided. There are plenty of local cafes and restaurants for affordable price. If I come to London again I will definitely stay at Adelya’s as it is a great value for money and decent service. Highly Recommend!

Not proper conditions

The owner was nice initially, but the apartment was not in the condition we expected it to be in. The apartment complex had trash everywhere and we did not feel safe there. There was no hot water when we arrived. The following day, when we were ready to leave in the morning, the owner took over 30 minutes in the bathroom. After leaving the bathroom, her feces were in the toilet and would not flush. We came back hours later to collect our things and the feces were still in the toilet. This was absolutely repulsive and unacceptable, and after mentioning it to the owner, she told me I was rude and didn’t apologize or refund me for the 2 nights I didn't stay. The owner was unprofessional and I do not recommend staying here.

The whole experience with the guest was not positive and rather tedious from the moment she booked till she left my flat without letting me know. Check in was at 2am in the morning! Despite all of my efforts and arrangements guest went off lying, abusive and arrogant. It can be shown easily from her extremely rude review. Sad...

The best place I have stayed.

Me and my boyfriend had an enjoyable stay at this flat and I remember a pleasant fresh fruity smell greeting us as we walked into our room which was a lovely touch. The bed was super comfortable and all was clean and hygienic in the flat. We felt very privileged to have the view of London that we had outside of the kitchen and it looked awesome at night. There was everything that we needed such as the shower, toilet, microwave and kettle. We very much liked Adelya and felt comfortable in her presence. A very nice stay and I would recommend this Adelya’s home to somebody who wants to explore London as it is in Zone 2 and there is a bus stop just outside of the flats. If I were going to London again I would look at this accommodation again and be very likely to stay in it again.

Spacious, Convenient Location and Lovely Hostess!

Adelya was the most lovely hostess! This was my first experience in a homeaway place and I loved it. The room was extremely spacious with plenty of cupboard space and drawers. Everything I needed was provided (towels/hairdryer/even some shampoo and body wash!). London maps and books and most importantly umbrellas were readily available for use. You're welcome to store food and make your own meals if you didn't wish to eat out and the view of London was awesome!

Also the location was fantastic! The bus stop is right outside and only 10 minutes to the nearest tube station which in turn was only 15 minutes to central London with all the major tourist attractions! It was only a short bus ride to Borough Market and London Bridge for everyone who loves food!

More importantly I couldn't have asked for anything more of Adelya! If you needed any advice on grocery stores, places to see she was more than happy to give recommendations and always happy to have a chat when you are in.

If you're looking for a clean, spacious room in a great location for a great price I definitely recommend Adelya's place to everyone and I will undoubtedly return in the future!

Eclectic and charming neighborhood

This property is convenient to city bus lines, with a stop just outside the building. Upon alighting from the bus, we were not sure where to go, but found three charming schoolgirls on their way home. They took us right to the flat! That speaks a great deal about the neighborhood. The room we stayed in was simple and the bed comfortable. We were able to store some food in the fridge. The Wi-Fi access was very reliable and plenty fast for planning our days out. Our hostess was very accommodating, but unfortunately traveling during our stay so we were not able to meet in person. She left plenty of brochures and a collection of umbrellas! The shared bathroom was small, but clean. Being a bit older, I think the next time we will be looking for an en-suite set-up, but we knew what we were getting. A couple of extra pillows would have been nice, but we didn't bother to ask as we only stayed a couple of nights.
