Festivals in Beverley: Beverley is fast becoming a hub for several festivals including the Folk festival, the Early Music festival, Literature and Comedy festivals, a Blues festival and a Food festival as well as events such as Ladies Day at the Races, The Victorian Christmas Market and many race meetings throughout the year.

Birdwatching: East Yorkshire offers some of the best birding in the UK! Its coastal sites include auk and gannet colonies on cliffs, esturine marshes and superb migration hotspots...It has a great reputation as a great county for sea-watching, rare migrants at the coast and some excellent inland sites too. Bempton Cliffs with its nesting seabirds, Spurn for migrants and Blacktoft with a plethora of waders and wetland species. Moreover, it is one of the best places to try a pelagic in the autumn for skuas and shearwaters.

Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve, these high chalk cliffs hold nationally important breeding seabird colonies. Up to 75,000 Kittiwakes provide a spectacular backdrop for large numbers of Common Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins, as well as one of the only Gannet colonies in mainland Britain.

Blacktoft Sands RSPB Reserve is the best site in the region for Marsh Harrier and Bearded Tit and breeding avocet. Plus there's Flamborough Head, Spurn Point and Hornsea Mere within easy reach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Splendid !"

I moved away from East Yorkshire over 30 years ago, so I was very

pleased to find such a pleasant place to stay for a couple of weeks

and rediscover the area. I found the apartment very comfortable for

the 3 of us staying there, everything was clean and in good working

order and it was a nice surprise to find a supply of tea, coffee and

fresh milk waiting for us when we arrived. I went to Beverley Grammar

School in the 1970’s and my recent stay allowed me to rediscover some

of the wonderful things about Beverley. A guided tour of the minster

roof allows you to see how it was constructed as if you are seeing it

through the eyes of the craftsmen who built it, also walking on the

Westwood gives you a view of Beverley that is probably one of the most

scenic views in England.

The apartment is very conveniently situated & it is easy to stroll

along to Wednesday Market to enjoy a morning coffee in one of the

cafes while reading the paper, and in the evening have dinner in one

of the restaurants and enjoy a pint or two on the way back.

I would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a

place to stay while visiting the wonderful town of Beverley.

We were really impressed with the flat and it's amazing views. It was centrally located and had everything you needed for a weekend with the kids. I would definitely visit again and recommend it to friends.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the apartment, and I'm sorry that you had difficulty parking. There is an allocated undercover bay that is always empty but it maybe isn't well signed so I will try and rectify that point. Thanks again.

Minster View Apartment is situated in the heart of Beverley, a vibrant market town, right opposite the stunning Beverley Minster and less than quarter of a mile from the train station. Surrounded by friendly, traditional English pubs, beautiful architecture and cobbled streets, you are just a stone's throw from all the shops, cafes, bars and countless attractions that this quaint town has to offer, including the famous Saturday Market and Beverley Racecourse and Golf Club. Just around the corner is the leisure centre and the home of several festivals throughout the year.

Within a short drive are the lovely Yorkshire Wolds and the Dales, a must for walkers, and nature lovers will enjoy Bempton Cliffs and Spurn Point. Beaches are 15 minutes away and it is under 30 miles to the ancient city of York.

Other Activities: Bird watching

Golf: Beverley West Wood, home to the ancient Beverley and East Riding Golf Club and one of Yorkshire's finest and most natural golf courses.

Founded in 1889, the Westwood course is arguably the oldest in Yorkshire. It boasts an enviable mix of golfing landscape - parkland, heathland and links - taking advantage of the ups and downs of the rolling fairways and magnificent views of the market town of Beverley and its spectacular Minster.

Beverley is a true but fair test of golf, offering a challenge to every player, from novice to seasoned pro. Indeed, there are many that say there are few better places to tee up than on the glorious Westwood..
