What you don't find out till you get there!

What none of the holiday blurb tells you is that you are expected to use your car as dust cart and take your rubbish to the local refuse tip when you leave. I have never experienced that before in 67 years of holiday making. One of the bags leaked all over the carpet in the car leaving a nasty smell for the journey home and me with the cost of a full valet and carpet shampoo. Seriously not amused. Accommodation was sort of clean carpets hoovered work surfaces clean as was the fridge, however the hall carpet was old faded and stained poorly fitted, blackmarks found on the walls about the place. Bare plaster where the paint had come off or was never painted in the bathroom. Watch out for the rusty screw sticking out of the skirting board where the doorstop should be. Bath has a shower over however bath is high sided with no hand assist difficult to access if your elderly or infirmed. Be warned the water is scalding hot. notices stuck every where with masking tape in bedroom just looks shoddy and tacky. TV so high up the wall you break your neck to look at it, is poorly positioned so the sun affects the screen during the day and at night you get a lovely view of the living room lights reflected on the screen. The remote fell down the side of the cushion on the sofa while retrieving it i discovered several bits of cereal sweet wrappers etc clearly not on the cleaners list, nor were the French windows covered in tiny hand prints from the previous incumbents. During our stay the plug in the bathroom sink failed leaving us with a sink full of water. I rang the agent who said she would ring me back. That she did she had rung the owner who gave her instructions to give to me to free the water. Then said just leave it like that until the week end (this was on the Monday) So I ended up saving the owner a plumbers callout fee and did the work my self needing use of the sink i fixed the problem as well. On visiting this property we found a comments book full of goodish comments one or two being brave enough to say the place needs a lick of paint and some TLC. couldn't help but notice the remains of several pages trapped in the coil spine where pages had been torn out. Padlocks on internal doors, the most uncomfortable bed I have ever laid on and the place smells of plug in air fresheners As a qualified fire safety adviser I turned them off they are a fire hazard ! In short not impressed and shan't be returning, Loved the area had a great holiday otherwise.

Nice Bungalow

  • 3 of 5

Nice clean, roomy bungalow, ideally placed to see what Pembroke has to offer. Austere interior and budget furniture let it down. Tiny television placed high on the wall made watching sport difficult. Advert says within 15 minutes walk of Saundersfoot, well Usain Bolt may make it and they forgot to mention the very steep hill you would have to climb on the way back.

Well equiped spacious bungalow in quiet neighbourhood.

Rented this bungalow for our holiday in the Tenby area. Well equipped place. Enjoyed the quietness of the area. It is a steep walk into Saundersfoot from the bungalow, but no problem. The bungalow does have wifi and kitchen is well equipped.
