The Wayfarer's House - a townhouse that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms

The house enters into the cosy lounge and staircase to the upper floors. Through the lounge, is a hall leading to a small double bedroom with French doors onto the private garden. There is also a cloakroom with WC, and a well-equipped new kitchen with dining table and seating for 5. Access to the back garden is also gained from the kitchen.

Upstairs on the first floor, we have the master bedroom which has a double bed and a single bed. Also on this floor is a large bathroom with separate shower and a snug sitting room which has views over the boathouse and sailing club, on to the sea and beyond. From the sitting room are stairs to the third bedroom on the top floor. Again, this room has a double bed and a single bed. Windows to the front and back make this room lovely and bright and of course has superb views out to the sea.

Sleeps 5 (can accommodate 6) - full weeks and short breaks (Friday to Friday only in summer school holidays unless booking within 8 weeks) 7 St Mary Street is a typical Fife Wayfarer's house, built around 1850. It has been completely refurbished to a high standard, adding comfort and refinement to its existing charm. Based 2 minutes from St Andrews Harbour and approximately 10 minutes' walk from the town centre, the Wayfarer's House offers a comfortable base for families visiting St Andrews.

Location

All keys are collected from our main offices, as below, do not go directly to the property unless you have booked for one of our staff to meet you at the property at the time of booking.

The keys will be available from 4 PM onwards, departure is at 10 AM. To collect the keys you should follow the directions below.

DIRECTIONS TO KINGASK OFFICE/RECEPTION: From the Forth Road Bridge take the A92 and follow signs to St. Andrews. Leave St. Andrews on the A917, keeping left to the Crail Coast Rd. Approximately 2 miles from St. Andrews on the left hand side, directly opposite Spinkstown Farmhouse B&B, is the entrance for Kingask House (2 Sandstone pillars at the entrance leading to a white house surrounded by trees). Once you get to the top of the drive follow signs for the office/reception. The postcode is KY16 8PN if you wish to use a route planner. If you reach the "Fairmount Golf Hotel" then you have gone too far!

    Extras


    Extras should be added at the time of the initial booking and will be confirmed and listed on the booking confirmation. Extras can be also be added up to 4 weeks in advance of the arrival date, and confirmation of any additions means that a new booking confirmation will be issued. If extras are not present on the confirmation, then they will not be present at the property for the let. Extras can be provided after arrival (subject to availability) but will incur an additional fee of £20 on top of the standard charge for the extra.





    Bedroom Format - (No. of twins, doubles, triples)


    Many of our properties offer alternative formats for bedrooms, for instance a twin can be made up as a double if the hirer prefers. The format for the bedrooms for the house can be selected in the property options, and there is no additional charge for altering the layout of the bedrooms at the time of booking. Booked formats can be changed up to 4 weeks in advance of arrival, a new confirmation will be issued, after arrival the format can be changed for a fee of £20 per bedroom.





    Cancellation


    In the event of cancellation, notice of cancellation must be sent by email (a confirmation of receipt from our office must be obtained) or recorded delivery letter. Holiday insurance should be taken with a suitable provider.





    Once a booking has been made the following charges apply to cancellation or change of accommodation:





    more than 6 months prior to start of booking - 10% of deposit


    within 6 - 3 months prior to start of booking - 25% of deposit


    within 3 - 2 months prior to start of booking - 50% of deposit


    within 2 - 1 months prior to start of booking - 100% of deposit


    within 4 - 3 weeks prior to start of booking - 50% of full cost of holiday


    within 3 - 2 weeks prior to start of booking - 75% of full cost of holiday


    within 2 - 0 weeks prior to start of booking - 100% of full cost of holiday





    The proprietor reserves the right, under circumstances beyond control, (e.g. fire damage or the interruption of utility supplies) to change the booking to a property of a similar standard and grading. Should it not be possible to offer an alternative holiday property, the rental paid will be returned in full to the hirer and the hirer shall have no further claim against the proprietor. At the proprietor's discretion, well behaved pets are welcome (refer to the property listing), but should not be allowed in bedrooms, on furniture or left unattended at any time in the property. There will be an additional charge per week, per pet.
