Guestbook comments from the owner

The Woodshed far exceeded our expectations. It served us very well as a great base for touring the whole of Cornwall. Highly recommend Fowey, Padstow and other picturesque villages, eg Mevagissey, Clovelly, Boscastle Port Isaac and Mousehole. Also recommend if National Trust members to see the many beautiful gardens and houses. Cannot rate the owners highly enough as they promptly responded to a request we made. Overall we had a fabulous week in Cornwall and we would rate 'The Woodshed' far higher than the name suggests. A Big Thank You!

Ruined holiday with road noise - do not stay here!

  • 1 of 5

I've just returned from a holiday at The Woodshed in Lanivet, Cornwall and I would definitely NOT recommend this place. It is the noisiest place I have ever stayed. It is situated on a narrow lane between two A Roads that is used as a cut through for speeding cars and vans all day until midnight and beyond, spoiling any rest you are planning on getting and to make matters worse it is described as tranquil. It is anything but tranquil.

I complained to HomeAway who told me to contact the owner.

The owner offered to find us a hotel but has not offered a refund for a ruined holiday and who completely ignores your emails but responds promptly when you are making a booking.

I have never been so disappointed and feel robbed of my hard earned money. It's a travesty that a description can be put on a website that is totally untrue and deceive people.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage itself is beautifully presented and in an ideal location to see Cornwall. Perfect get away for two and it felt homely with the under floor heating and thoughtful decor. Well equipped with a comfortable bed! The local village has a lovely pub, shop and chip shop and it's only a short walk away. We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you 😊򒠽򒨊

  • 5 of 5

It was a good experience from the moment it was booked and confirmed. Received an email with access information, directions and all important information and contact number. A repeat email less than a week before arrival dates. The place was lovely and well equipped in the kitchen and entertainment equipment. Felt very luxurious. Will definitely return and have spread the word. Thank you

Beautiful location for a beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

The property itself is modern, clean, fresh and cosy. The location is perfect for day trips as it's close to almost everything you might want to do and it's also very peaceful at night. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are looking to come back for another weekend away. Thank you for such a lovely stay ! X

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We're not long back from a 5-day break staying at The Woodshed, and it was a pleasure to stay there. It's clear that the owners put a lot of care and attention into its interior, with its luxurious, modern feel. The mezzanine bedroom is a wonderful touch, as is the timer-controlled underfloor heating that we found so lovely to walk on first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

Location-wise, the Lanivet Inn is only a 5-minute walk away, and we found it to have a lovely friendly atmosphere, not to mention delicious food - but book ahead if you're planning to go on a Saturday night! Our main reason for picking The Woodshed was its proximity to attractions such as the Eden Project, and indeed it's an easy drive to get there (provided your sat nav doesn't send you down country lanes ... follow the brown signs!) and to other spots like Padstow, Tintagel and Fowey.

British weather in April being what it is, there were a few days where we thought it better not to go too far afield, and suffice it to say that I can't think of a better place to spend a rainy day indoors with some wine, DVDs and a Scrabble board than The Woodshed. We would definitely go back!

Whether you’re looking for quiet country walks on the moors, sampling seafood in the picturesque harbour towns to the south or adrenalin fuelled action sports on the north coast, the woodshed is most definitely the place to stay.
