About the property

Magical 3 Bedroom 1.5 Bath Private Retreat, Furnished In Tribal Art And Antiques

Waterfront home - on the beach in charming Point Richmond, furnished in tribal art and Asian antiques!

Huge bay views from your own big deck, from the lovely living and dining areas, from the master bedroom space, from the modern kitchen - even from your shower! Hear the waves - and watch the pelicans! Ideal for small workshops or visiting families. We are delighted to host visiting healers for retreats, group and private sessions. Sleeps seven. Close to SF, Berkeley, minutes to Marin County!

The home has a completely equipped private lower unit with a modern kitchen with bamboo cabinets, living area, dining area and two bathrooms, one with a walk in shower, with fabulous views of the bay. And your own private deck, right over the beach! Hardwood floors with tribal carpets, exquisite Asian antiques and artwork collected from around the world.

In addition to two private bedrooms, there is a third sleeping area which seems to be everyone's favorite! It opens onto the deck with sliding glass doors - and the view and sounds of the bay are amazing! It's furnished with a queen sized bed, an incredibly comfortable eco-friendly Keetsa Tea Leaf mattress, and Japanese tansu chests - and can be partly separated from the main living area by a screen.

Come join us in this magic and healing place where you can eat your breakfast and watch the pelicans dive for theirs! You can wake up and go to sleep listening to the waves. The sunsets will take your breath away and the views are just outstanding. The location is excellent for going to San Francisco, to Berkeley and other east bay spots, Marin, and Napa. But you just might find yourself happy to stay put and have a relaxing vacation in this seaside village.

We both love Richmond and particularly, Point Richmond, the bay area's best kept secret! The shoreline is amazing! There are public sand beaches, wonderful hiking trails at Nichol Nob, excellent live community theater, world class restaurants, a thriving art and music community, an award winning municipal swimming palace, a rugby bar that's a great place to watch Steph Curry and the Warriors win another one, a terrific ladies clothes store, beautiful Asian antique furniture and more.

Guest Access: Private access through a garden path between black bamboo and huge birds of paradise!

Interaction with Guests: We totally respect everyone's privacy. There is no check in procedure at our retreat; you simply arrive and make yourself at home. During your stay we may have the opportunity to say hello, usually when you are arriving or leaving with your car or on a walk through the neighborhood. Or, please let us know if you would like to meet! We are friendly and well traveled - and do our best to be available if you have any questions or would like to learn more about the area!

Getting Around: Plenty of street parking! House is located on a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood. Minutes from the freeway - ten minutes to either Berkeley or Marin County! It is a lovely walk into the center of Point Richmond. And our favorite way to go into San Francisco is by ferry - from the terminal just on the other side of the bridge at Larkspur Landing!

About Vivien Feyer

Hello! We are Jeff and Viv.

We fell in love in Point Richmond!

Jeff came to Richmond in 1981 as the Chief of Cardiology at the Kaiser Richmond Medical Center. He also served as an elected city councilman from 2008-2012. Now, he is a Professor at Touro University teaching PA students cardiology and internal medicine. He loves the idea of introducing others to the wonders of the Point Richmond shoreline and community.

Viv has been a psychologist, educator, avid world traveler, photographer, peace activist and small import business owner. Her love of the water brought her to Point Richmond years ago. She is the former chair of the City of Richmond's Human Rights Commission and remains active in community health and violence prevention efforts. Like Jeff, she relishes the idea of showcasing some of Pt. Richmond's amazing talent. Viv arranged for Asian art collector and dealer Guillermina Emy LaFever to furnish the retreat space with antique Asian furniture. It is a work of art. You can actually buy any of the furniture you like. There is a catalog in the unit and you can visit Guillermina's store in Point Richmond.

Vivien Feyer purchased this house in 2015

Why Vivien Feyer chose Point Richmond

We've managed to buy our dream home on a lovely pebble beach here on the SF Bay. It's a unique and special place and we feel blessed to be its guardians. Daily we are nourished by the sounds of the bay and the daily comings and goings of the coots, cormorants, pelicans, gulls and the occasional sea lion or harbor seal.

We are told that the house was brought over from San Francisco on a barge in the very early 1900's and set in this spectacular location!

We are veteran travelers, having explored much of the world - and have finally found a spot that holds true magic for us. Delighted now to be sharing it with others!

What makes this house unique

The beach, the view, the wildlife, the magical energy of the space -

a true sanctuary for us, yet moments away from the people and places we adore in the larger bay area!!!

Stay away! It's mine!!!I

  • 5 of 5

Just kidding. If you have an opportunity to retreat here or just spend the night, you ought to give yourself the gift of this place and these people.

I had the sweet pleasure of a week's stay here with Viv and Jeff. Every type of weather was presented during my stay and it seemed to flow with my process. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, wonderfully warm days on the beach...and then stormy weather, rough seas and cloudy sunsets.

Each moment of my stay was a practice in gratitude and abundance. My plan was to begin a writing project, but of course plans make the universe laugh. No writing project was begun, but a lot of writing was created. Every moment of my stay brought me closer to myself, my true authentic self, and it was painful and joyous.

Needless to say, I recommend this location for healing or just plain relaxation. It's a wonderful place to set an intention and move forward in your work or just sit on the deck and wait for sunset. Enjoy!

Spectacular location/view/décor/conveniences/owners!

Lovely accommodations and Viv & Jeff have thought of everything.

Will definitely refer anyone I know who is visiting San Francisco area and wants to enjoy a few days in a mindfully-created, beautiful location.

Thank you, Viv, for your wonderful hospitality during my stay.

I look forward to our next visit.

Awesome place

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful location. Safe and serene in a small neighborhood and right on SF bay. Relatively easy access to Sausalito, SF, Berkeley, etc. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The owners were very responsive and totally helpful with navigating the local scene and the bay area in general.

Thanks Viv and Jeff, we can't wait to return!!!

Perfect Respite during a Road Trip

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect place to land after 5 days of a most enjoyable road trip! We were warmly greeted in the street by Viven, our gracious and most accommodating hostess. There was an easel next to the apartment entrance heralding welcome to each of us by name in the message space as well!

Jeff and Viven gave us a brief tour of their wonderfully appointed apartment and then it was time to kick back and enjoy the view.

Stepping out onto the deck to see the faint glow to the west at the post sunset hour , the lighted Goldengate Bridge, San Francisco skyline, and the Bay Bridge as you look from right to left! Truly amazing and wonderful panorama for the next seven days.

The drive to the Goldengate is an easy hop depending on the commuting hour if you so choose. The Larkspur Ferry is just minutes away and will deliver you right to Fisherman’s Wharf. From there access to all of San Francisco is just steps away via the bart system ( streetcars are best for those who are nostalgic at heart)

San Fran is home to 4000 restaurants, but one need not travel quite so far!

The appies at the Hotel Mac were fabulous and we had some of the best pub fare at the Up and Under Pub. For breakfast we enjoyed “All’s Fare” with it’s quaint view of the Pt Richmond Boat Harbor

We recommend Sausalito for more of the same without having to navigate the city.

We dined in three times and found the kitchen as acccomodating as the cottage is charming! There are two markets in Pt. Richmond and there are Albertsons close by for more extensive needs. Not to mention dinner on the deck at sunset is just breathtaking!

We will stay here again!

And once again, Viven and Jeff, we can’t thank you enough!

Amazing Views and Great Accomadations

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at Viv's place on the water. The house was well furnished and clean. The views of the 3 bridges from the deck were absolutely amazing. We had fun on the beach, especially watching the neighbors throwing balls out in the water for their dogs to fetch. Viv greeted us upon arrival and stayed in communication throughout our stay. The home is a little ways to the city (with lots of traffic to get there!) but we found that okay as we wanted to explore not only the city of SF, but the surrounding areas too. If you happen to be staying at the home on the second Friday of month during the summer, there is a great outdoor concert series in the small town of Port Richmond that is in walking distance from the house. Afterwards, you can eat at one of the restaurants there.

Thanks for sharing your home Viv!
