The house is located in the village of Nebida, a former mining village of Sulcis Iglesiente, a sought-after holiday destination on the southwest coast of Sardinia. Nebida is about 70km from the capital Cagliari and from Elmas airport. It is close to one of the most ancient and spectacular coasts of the Mediterranean, also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is impossible not to stop to admire the Pan di Zucchero, the rock that owes its name to its characteristic whitish color. The Sugarloaf is 133 meters high and is one of the biggest stacks in Europe. Much higher than the famous Capri rock. The village has a post office, pharmacy, medical guard, bar / ice cream parlor, restaurant and pizzerias, 2 markets, butchers and public transport.
In addition to the crystal clear sea and suggestive seabed, it is possible to visit the mining complex of Masua, of which you can see "Porto Flavia" and the "Museum of mining machinery". The first takes the name of the daughter of the engineer Cesare Vecelli who designed it. It is a particularly suggestive service building at mines, suspended between sea and sky, built between 1922 and 1924 in the limestone rock to facilitate the transport of the ore to be loaded directly onto the ships via a cantilevered jetty. Laveria La Marmora, a building that once housed the sorters to select the minerals extracted and "wash" them, appears isolated on the slope of a mountain overlooking the sea, in this landscape of great patos. , laveria, like a jewel, appears set in an uncontaminated area and is interesting from an environmental, geological and naturalistic point of view. In short, it is impossible not to go see it.
For sports enthusiasts, the coast of Nebida and Masua offers various activities such as free-climbing; besides the presence of innumerable caves that open on the calcareous and schistose walls to peak on the sea as the Grotta Azzurra, that of the Smugglers, of the Spigole, of the Pipistrelli and the Grotta of Canalgrande, allows to make speleological excursions and trekking, accompanied by paths with kayak or sailboat.
