Just off the main road along a short farm track, Villa San Filippello is situated within a 2 minute drive of the town and is perfectly located for anyone that just wishes to escape into rural Sicily. The 5 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (incl. en-suite), open plan kitchen and living area provide ample space for guests to relax and unwind. The spacious outside terrace (including a separate kitchenette) and separate swimming pool area with outdoor shower, create the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Sicilian sunshine, whether it be to cool off in the pool or to eat 'Al fresco' surrounded by the stunning landscape. Set within its own grounds are an abundance of olive, fruit and almond trees, that are well maintained by a local groundsman. Electric gates and an alarm system provide total peace of mind when leaving the Villa for long periods of time. The remotely controlled lights on the drive, terrace and pool area help create an ambient and tranquil setting, perfect for evening dining.

We had a 10 night stay at this villa in October and had a wonderful holiday. Fabio was really helpful before we went, providing lots of information about the villa, how to get it (with really detailed instructions) and finally about Ciminna itself. Giuseppe then helped us further whilst we were there with some other suggestions of places to visit and things to do and called by a couple of times just to check we were ok (especially after the massive thunderstorm!)
The villa had everything we needed, including towels and linen (some villas we enquired about previously didn't include this or charged for rental). We didn't need to use all the bedrooms, but there was plenty of space to put our belongings and luggage. The villa is set well away from the road and so noise from traffic etc was at a minimum and the view of the surrounding hills and Ciminna was wonderful. The pool was lovely to swim in (even in October) and perfect to lounge around!
It takes less than 5 minutes to drive into Ciminna itself from the villa, and although a small town it has all the essentials. The ladies at Blu Market speak english and were very helpful in arranging a meal for us at San Vito. And we highly recommend Habama Cafe (food to die for) and Gattopardo Bar with excellent pizzas to eat in or take away.
Really recommend it for those who want to get away and experience Sicily away from the tourists.
I booked this villa through this website, which was simple. The communication and map provided made it extremely easy to organise and to find.
The villa itself is lovely, well laid out and well proportioned, the outside area and pool was excellent and is exactly what is needed for summer in Sicily.
Fabio was excellent throuh the booking process and Giuseppe met us at the villa. Giuseppe explained to us all the details of the villa and the town of Ciminna, he also booked us a table at San Vito's for that evening. We also bumped into him a number of times during the week and he was always friendly and helpful.
Ciminna is a beautiful and quaint little town, with everything that is required; supermarkets (thank you ladies from the blue market!), bars and truly great restaurants. It is an easy drive from the airport and this pretty close to the coast.
All in all, a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to return!
The town of Ciminna offers something different than your usual holiday. It is situated 600m above sea level in the Madonie mountain range just 38 Km from Palermo and 22 Km from Trabia (the nearest beach). It is also within easy reach of such historic towns as Monreale, Agrigento and Cefalù. Like many small towns in Sicily, Ciminna is filled with an abundance of history and character. To eat out there are numerous restaurants, pizzerias and cafes in the town, or you could just sit and relax outside one of the bars and enjoy local Sicilian life with some of the finest espresso coffee on offer. The Sicilians like to take their time over eating and enjoy the quality of local produce at every meal, which can be found at any of the local supermarkets. Fresh local produce of the season is always on offer, which includes the tastiest of fruits, hams & meats, cheeses and olives. The locals are very friendly and most of the bars will stay open until the last customer leaves.
