Abruzzo is a mountain region of Central Italy, between Rome and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Casa della Meridiana is in a valley on the eastern slopes of the Majella mountains, on the edge of the Majella National Park.
The area is noted for its scenery and traditions with many historical and archaeological sites, folkloric festivals, regional food and excellent wine. Street festivals, food festas, processions and folkloric events take place throughout the year.
Casa della Meridiana is a good base for all outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking and river rafting. Beaches and traditional wooden sea food restaurants are 30 minutes away on the Adriatic.
We live in London and visit several times a year.
Guests are met and escorted to the house by English-speaking key-holders. We provide a ‘House and Area Guide’ (PDF or hard copy) with advice on local restaurants and bars, activities and day trips, things to do and walking routes and maps, guide books and brochures are kept in the house.
