About Jane at Beachshacks
My first experience of spectacular St Ives was working summer seasons in my late teens whilst at college. Like many caught the bug and have always loved the town and Cornwall the beautiful county.
Jane at Beachshacks purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Jane at Beachshacks chose Saint Ives
Men an Mor was a chance find, as soon as I walked through the door it was wow and I still hear this every changeover if the door is open people walk by and say wow!! It's all about the view and the incredible light. No surprise that the apartment was a local artists studio. It has exactly the right aspect for a studio, the view is incredible and inspiring. It also defies it's central St Ives location, there are no footpaths or road in front so it feels pretty peaceful. Just the sound of the waves, when the tide is low then some people walking across the sands. When the tide is high the waves lap under the balcony a beautiful sound. Many guests have spotted a friendly seal and cormorants on the rocks.

This was a gorgeous apartment which had everything you need. The view was spectacular. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. There was a lovely welcome pack of local products and fresh milk in the fridge and to top it all a vase of beautiful fresh roses. I would definitely recommend this property, it is exactly as shown in the photos save for the view which is even more spectacular in real life. Thx v much Jane.
Lovely location, had everything you need 🤗
Fantastic views and closeness to the sea.
Great apartment. The large window (with window seat) and the balcony access that both overlook the sea and St Ives Harbour were wonderful. We didn’t lower the window blind once!
St Ives is an excellent location for superb coastal walks, the only problem is tearing yourself away from those views and the beach that is only meters away.
Excellent communication with host, thank you.
A little Gem
A little gem, fantastic location postcard views an absolute treat, wish we could have stayed longer.
Ideal location and wonderful views.
An ideal location – Immediately next to the Pedn Olva hotel, overlooking the rocks and beach. A short walk into town and about 10-15 minutes to the Tate. Wonderful views.
The apartment is accessed via a walkway above the rocks. The walkway can also serve as a small balcony – just room for two and a small table with a bit of manoeuvring. The kitchen is compact but provides everything you need. There is enough space to eat there if you wish but you would surely rather go up to the living room to the glorious views.
The apartment was clean and well presented. The double bed doesn’t have much space at the sides so it can be a little tricky not to wake your partner if you are coming to bed later. But there are shelves each side of the bed for a clock / glass of water etc. The sleeping area is open to the living room from which the spiral staircase goes down to the kitchen. One person cannot make much noise if the other is sleeping but for us it presented no problem.
The owner left us some food and drink to get us started – a bottle of wine, a pint of milk, scones, biscuits, fudge and Cornish coffee. All very welcome and a nice touch. There was even a vase of roses which still looked fresh at the end of our week.
And we enjoyed gorgeous weather!
If you are happy with the open plan aspect this is the perfect place to stay in St Ives.
Lovely little apartment
Apartment has beautiful views of St Ives with the sea coming right up to the balcony. The apartment itself is very well presented and provides a great base to go out exploring and then come back to views you can sit and relax in the window seat admiring. Jane was really helpful with any queries we had and was extremely prompt in communication.
