The villa is located in one of the hills overlooking the most stunning views of the Cote D’Azur. It is situated above the famous Opio golf course with a beautiful Mediterranean sea view. Chateauneuf is a medieval village only 20 min away from Cannes and its beaches. The villa is settled on 2000 m², garden, high trees, and a fantastic pool. The property has three bedrooms, with private en-suite bathrooms and private entrance. Beautiful conservatory with a fantastic view, large dining area, living, large fully fitted kitchen, office, on the ground floor. Gorgeous terrance under an old large tillia tree, where to have nice and funny aperitives and dinners. BBQ possibility. Bedrooms (en-suite closet and bathroom ) on the first floor. Master bedroom with private terrace (under the tree). Large sunbathing area around the pool.
Le Mas Perche is a lovely villa in secluded grounds. It displays pretty well in the listing but for me was even better when we arrived! The pool is unusually "carved out of a rock terrace" so has a shallow part that is perfect to wallow in and read - this then shelves off into the deeper part. The areas around the pool are really nice and varied allowing space for guests to find their own quiet spot without being on top of one another. The views from the terrace were spectacular. Flavia and Alberto are an absolutely charming Italian couple. We will definitely be coming back to visit!
This was our second visit to Le Mas Perche (see "A delightful hilltop retreat" June 2012) and everything that we said then still stands. It is a wonderful setting, with great views, and the house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. However all the attractions of the coast are near at hand and this year we took the train from Grasse to Monaco. Much less stressful than driving!
Since our last visit Alberto and Flavia have added an attractive decking area at the side of the pool which gets the sun during the day. The Wi-Fi problem I mentioned is well and truly solved, and we had a strong signal throughout our stay. Also a Casino supermarket has opened five minutes away at Le Rouret so even more convenient.
Thank you again Alberto and Flavia - I'm sure we will be back!
We had a wonderful holiday at La Mas Perche. The hosts Flavia and Alberto were very helpful and friendly both before and on arrival.
The location is great - near to Nice airport, close to some lovely towns and villages (Valbonne and St Paul de Vence were our favourites), and very close to a large supermarket.
The house itself is very clean and well maintained with a lovely garden. The terrace is large and shady with fantastic views - perfect for relaxing on the comfortable chairs with a glass of rose wine! Being in the hills - there is a refreshing breeze during the day too.
All the bedrooms were a good size with ensuite. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. The pool is lovely too - though we didn't use it as much as we might have done as there was no shade for most of the day and we were travelling with a small baby - perfect for sun worshippers though!
Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend this house and the area.
We spent one week of vacation this summer in Chateauneuf in "Le Mas Perché".
The villa is great, very well furnished, the pool is big and there is a very good spot to have grillade in the evening.
The view from the villa on the sea is alos very nice.
Chateauneuf is nice village near Grasse and approximately 30 min from Cannes and all the beaches.
There are also a lot of nice places to eat arround Chateauneuf.
We would highly recommend this villa and their owner if you are looking for a nice villa in the south of France.
We LOVED visiting La Mers Perche ("the sea perch" as our Italian hosts have named their absolutely charming villa). The home is full of wonderful architectural details and is very well decorated, which is evident from the many true-to-life photographs shown on the website. The master bath has huge windows looking out to the sea and spa towels monogrammed with the name of the villa. All the en suite bedroom and baths are decorated very differently from one another, giving each space a unique feeling for its guests.
The pool is absolutely beautiful whether splashing and playing games with the children or napping on one of the supplied flotation rafts. Our evenings were very relaxing listening to the infinity edge of the pool cascade down into a waterfall while we enjoyed the scent of bouquets of Provence lavender which decorated the living room and patio. Bring your favorite recipes: the large kitchen is fully equipped for even the most ambitious cood and there is a very large, recently renovated grocery store at the bottom of the hill that can supply every ingredient (and other household and vacation necessities) that you may require.
But what really makes this home special are its warm and thoughtful owners, Alberto and Flavia. Alberto met us at the bottom of the hill to lead us up the narrow lane to the villa and helped us unload and carry in our luggage. We were given a wonderful list of restaurants, as well as an excellent recommendation for a place to take the children.
We did have trouble connecting to the internet, which was solved with one phone call to the English-speaking phone line to the internet company (a phone number our host had at the ready). (For the benefit of future visitors, the cable modem in the office upstairs has a button on the bottom right side that needs to be pressed -- it is labeled "reg" -- and the wireless icon on top of the modem will begin to flash, allowing your device to detect the modem and connect wirelessly.)
Our vacation here could not have been more perfect, save for the fact that we could not stay another week or two!
+ good location, clean and kept house and garden, friendly owners, clean pool, perfect kitchen full of equipment, perfect panoramic view from terrasse.
- wireless internet not working properly.
