About Danica Crljenica
We are a local family renting our summer house. Foreign guests have stayed in our house since as far as 70s. Recently we have been advertising through Internet.
Danica Crljenica purchased this Villa in 1965
Why Danica Crljenica chose Okrug Gornji
It is close to the city Split and town Trogir but yet it has the feel of some remote island's summer home. It is overlooking a wonderful sand cove.

Familytrip to Okrug
We had a fantastic week at Danicas house. The hosts are very friendly and the house is lovely.
Ideal family holiday
We were a big family traveling together, three generations between 3 and 70 years old. We have had a fantastic holiday. The houses were ideal for our purpose. Plenty of individual and common space, modern houses of good standard, the beach and grocery was just down the road. The owner Danica and her grandson Frane were very friendly and helpful and made us a great BBQ on the day of arrival. The only drawback was that the internet didn’t work even though they had technicians trying to sort it out. We can highly recommend the place for a big group or family.
Very good location, good facilities and helpful owners
We booked out both accommodations for 31 of us although only 28 travelled. The ad says it sleeps a maximum of 36 which would be a bit of a squeeze as at least 8 would be using sofa beds or put up beds but it slept the 28 of us comfortably. On arrival we were greeted by Grandma (housekeeper) and her grand daughter who are both very friendly and helpful and offered us a welcome drink of their own wine from their small vineyard which was a lovely gesture and also good wine. The grand daughter sat with some of us for about an hour letting us know about the local area and offering any information we asked for plus topping up our wine glasses. They also organised transport to and from the airport plus got us tickets to see the local football match between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb which was an experience! We went there at the end of October 17 and a lot of the restaurants and some of the bars at the beech end were shut although most in Trogir (the other direction) were open but then this is the same across many European resorts at this time of year. The accommodation is very good in the new building (white one) but older and a bit dated in the other one. The showers ran cold a few times but I guess that is because we had 28 of us showering around the same time. Also, maybe a Croatian thing, but there were no kettles in any of the kitchens so you have to boil your water for a cuppa in a saucepan. No big deal but unusual. The location is excellent with the beech and a huge array of beech bars and restaurants about 300 metres away to the left as you walk out of the villa. About a twenty minute walk away (5 minutes taxi) in the opposite direction is another array of restaurants and bars in Trogir which is very interesting with buildings dating back over 1000 years. If you want to eat in then you can get food delivered (pizza, burgers, salads, kebabs) from Fast Food Moment in Trogir +385 (21) 882 764 who deliver for free and cost about £5 per person. There is also a local taxi driver who lives about 300 metres away and is very friendly and speaks great english and can arrange for other taxis as well, his number is +385 98 3717 87. A taxi for 4 over to Trogir cost us 24 kuna, £5 with a good tip. Overall we had a very good time.
Great home for 24 of us, very helpful owner, convenient location
Had a great holiday. Not much more to add!
Only thing to be aware of is horrible traffic through Trogir at some times of day - should be fixed when they complete the new bridge, and we used the water bus to go into trogir for the day / evening
No working aircondition, the rooms were unbearable hot.
We were a group of 26 persons, who rented two buildings for our stay, both owned by the same host. One building was nice with working aircondition, the other was not to an accepable standard. The rooms in the oldest building got so hot, that we had to evacuate our children to the other building at night. We tried to get the host to fix the aircondition, without success. The host went also into our rooms during daytime, and turned off blowers etc.
We will not recommend anyone to stay in this building until the heat-problem is solved.
I am very sorry you didn't have a nice stay, while you did stay 2 weeks here and I talked to many people in your group who said they had such a great time with us. There were nine rooms with airconditioning and there were five rooms without A/C, you knew this before you arrived. It was big heat wave in your time here, but as I understood, some of the people changed rooms with the ones who are more tolerable to heat, and the problem was solved. I came in the house two time to fix fans in the room, I don't think it made difference if the fan is off or on while no one is in the room, as it is just circulating air not cooling it, anyway I am sorry for turning it off, I didn't know you wanted it to stay on nor that you don't want me to enter as the first time you invited me to check the fan.
I wouldn't say, the older one of our two buildings is not acceptable standard. It is rustical, charming, spacious and also cool in the summer because of massive building style in the past. But this said, it is in the process of renovation and it is a complicated process since we try to keep the old style. You never did mention you got for free an extra swimming pool with counter current swimming that came with the first part of renovation, before we can make the facade that is scheduled for next year. Air Conditioning in every room will be available for next year. So if you are looking to rent a big beautiful house, with a swimming pool, sea view, surrounded by a garden and located by the sea, next year you can choose this one again but with an A/C unit in every room.
The property is placed near sea just above little cape Rožac. It is overlooking the most beautiful sand cove by the name of Saldun that stretches west of the island Ciovo. In comparison to other areas of the island this part gets the most sun hours, cleaner waters and more developed tourist life. Also, the location of the apartment provides both proximity to town Trogir and to beach life, combination of which you will seldom find.
