Such a lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Louise was very helpful and we would happily recommend to family and friends - looking forward to staying again soon

Ruby Wedding celebration in the New Forest

  • 4 of 5

My wife, daughter, her partner and myself had a very pleasant stay at Orchard Cottage in June. The property was clean and comfortable and there was everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The only issues we had were with the sleeping arrangements and to a lesser extent the dogs that are present as you arrive.

Although the beds were very comfortable the problem arises at night if someone from the main bedroom wants to use the toilet. You have to go past the people sleeping on the mezzanine floor which means that you could wake them and if they were friends not family this could prove a little awkward. Maybe some sort of courtesy screen could be introduced so that there is a little more privacy. The only issue with the dogs is that although they are extremely friendly when they come up to you the initial greeting sounds quite aggressive and this could prove a little problematic for people who are a little apprehensive around dogs. There was also a little dog mess outside our cottage on the day we left. Overall though I would recommend the cottage to families with children who are dog lovers.

Cosy and wonderfully relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We came to discover the New Forest, but the weather was not on our side. Orchard Cottage rescued the holidays as it was perfect for us with two little ones. The log fire made it feel cosy and relaxing and invited us to stay and play and read. A much needed slowing down and living in the moment. Just a pity we couldn't use the lovely big garden due to the weather.

A delightful countryside cottage with a cosy interior and outside garden space.

  • 5 of 5

As it is many years since we have visited the New Forest we decided to start searching for somewhere that would suit our needs. The cosy sitting room becomes even better if the evening chill makes you think about lighting the log burner! The cottage soon warms up and the whole cottage is soon glowing! All our needs were met and we were greeted in a friendly manner by Louise who told us all about the place and even showed us all the goodies in the kitchen, including fresh produce in the fridge. Nothing was left to chance and any queries that you had could soon be answered by Louise. There was plenty of room downstairs with the kitchen opening out of the sitting room and the bedroom had a gorgeous comfortable king size bed with plenty of soft pillows! In the outside yard there was lots to see with the horses in the stable or being taken out and everywhere seemed buzzing with interest and activity. Louise said she could suggest places to visit but we had a good idea of what we wanted to see in our 5 days and there is so much to do and see only a few miles away, we were spoilt for choice! If the weather had been better we could have been even more adventurous but we did manage to visit several interesting places including Highcliffe Castle, Exbury Gardens and Bournemouth. Sway has its own village shops so there is no need to run out of anything. We would certainly recommend this to our friends and family and hope to be back in the future.
