About Neil and Naomi Coverley

Neil, Naomi and Sheba the dog live at Back Tor Farm. We aren't farmers, although we do have a few sheep and hens and we love the rural life. We take pride in welcoming guests to The Nook and we aim to make their stay as happy as possible.

Neil and Naomi Coverley purchased this barn in 2013

Why Neil and Naomi Coverley chose Hope Valley

We both love walking (thats how we met) and here we are surrounded by the most wonderful hiking/running/biking routes.

What makes this barn unique

Thats easy - the view out of the front door is just the best. We never get tired of it and seeing how it alters with the seasons.

Midweek Photography/Walking Break (February)

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic cottage in a great location with walks on the doorstep. My husband and I used this as a base for walking and photography. After a day of walking on Kinder Scout in the snow it was a treat to return to such a cosy cottage with it's heated floors and comfy bed. Neil and Naomi were very welcoming too.

A wonderful location but very poor communication.

The cottage is wonderfully situated and well fitted out. However, after a couple of days, we discovered there are house rules about having dogs. The rules are reasonable but they are not in the “information file” in the cottage, nor on the HomeAway app, but only on the Ownersdirect website if you happen to look at the “Facilities” section when you book, which we didn’t because we had been to the property before. But the holiday was spoilt for us by the manner in which we were informed of these rules. We could have had a friendly chat from the owner (next door) but instead we had a printout of the web page attached to the door of our cottage with the relevant section highlighted in red. We object to being treated in this childish manner and will not be returning.

Paying a four figure sum for a 5 night stay I expected better treatment.

Owner's Response: Simon, thanks for your review. Having looked at our listing page we agree that Owners Direct don’t make it very easy to see our house rules. However, their fail safe booking procedure does prevent you from completing a booking without having agreed to our house rules. Fortunately we always back up our house rules regarding dogs by leaving a card with this information on your welcome tray. As both cottages had been booked by your group (hence the 'four figure sum') this information was definitely available. We are sorry that we didn’t speak to you directly regarding this issue. That would have been our normal choice, but a note was left as we were going out for the rest of the day. We take on board your review and will now always check that guests have read and understood our house rules at point of booking to avoid any confusion on either side.
