About Simon F

I love to cook for my family friends, whether that be cooking up a storm (or mess most likely!) indoors or flipping burgers and turning sausages on our BBQ.

After the stresses of the week, there is nothing I enjoy more than looking forward to the weekend. Whether that be going for walks with my wife and daughter, tending to the garden or snuggling up on the sofa to watch a film in the evening with a glass, or two of wine.

Charming home with all amenities that U would require all wrapped up in beautifully decorated house.

  • 5 of 5

Charming home with loads of character. Decorated and furnished fabulously.

Kids loved the garden.

Stocked with everything you would need for day to day living.

Lovely village with four walkable pubs/restaurants. Close enough to the coast which we used it for.

Will definitely return.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for a weekend when visiting family in the area, and this was a great property to feel comfortable and relaxed in after a day with family. We felt very welcome with all the little thoughtful extras - slippers, fresh flowers, some provisions, etc., so much so that it was like home from home. We had enough room but the property has a charming cosy feel.

Whilst we were staying, I was contacted by the owner to check if we had any questions, but we didn’t because everything was already covered!

If the weather had been better it would have been lovely to have sat outside.

I would definitely stay here again!

lovely, clean and well appointed home in a nice village

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 5 days in early December with my family; 5 adults and 1 teenager. We found the house cosy, very well organised, clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We liked its historic nature, the oak beams, and particularly enjoyed the large open downstairs room, where we could all hang out, but without being on top of one another. The kitchen had all we needed and enough space to make breakfasts each day - other meals we mostly ate out (there are 3 pubs within walking distance). Bedrooms were very comfortable. The only thing we did find a little disconcerting was the speed and intensity of traffic passing through the village - we had a large van which could only be backed out of the parking spot, and this was quite exciting at times. All in all though, highly recommended.

Lovely character cottage.

Really lovely cottage - with everything you could want or need in a home from home. The children loved it's old school charm as did we.

A delightful property.

  • 5 of 5

Dutch Gable is a delightful property. A welcome pack awaited our arrival which was much appreciated. With a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and everywhere spotlessly clean it made our stay a very pleasurable experience. The hosts have thought of everything with lots of 'extras' a nice touch. We enjoyed the fresh fruit from the garden - thank you.

Thorpe le Soken itself has all the amenities required - a small supermarket and several eating establishments and just a few minutes from the coast. We can recommend it.
