1 Porthmeor Road is a perfectly situated St Ives holiday home being just moments from Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches and just a minute’s walk to St Ives harbour. Being in the heart of Downalong, staying at 1 Porthmeor Road means everything is on hand; surf lessons, dinner on the beach, strolls around the shops and galleries, lunch with a view, museum visits, boat trips or stand-up paddle board hire and if you want a bench, an ice-cream and a view then you have a multitude of options to choose from. The nearest car park is a minutes’ walk away on the Island or, if you opt for the largest car park, the leisure centre is a 10-minute scenic walk away.
The house itself is spacious and easily accommodates a family of six. Pad in off the beach (shaking off the sand along the way) into the large living area with wood burner (for the chillier winter nights) through into the family-friendly dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully-equipped for self-catering in St Ives and your local deli on Norway Square or Fore Street offers plenty of Cornish food goodies to stock up the cupboards. There is a separate utility area with downstairs WC, a back door leads to an enclosed courtyard with shower to rinse of the days surf and salty toes and a perfect area for storing surfboards, bikes, wetsuits, buckets and spades!
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms with a double bed and twin beds and also the family bathroom with bath, WC and separate shower. The second-floor bedroom has zip and link beds which means you can either have it set up as a twin beds or king size bed with over roof top views to the sea.
Your four-legged best friend is also welcome with a few house rules to abide by. There is free WiFi and good phone reception at 1 Porthmeor Road. There is a Smart TV and playstation PS3 (bring along your own games) to keep the whole family entertained.
