Beautiful mountain village house of 160 m² with beautiful views.

Fantastic stay in peaceful surroundings with great views.

We had a great time in Jujols. The house was great, especially with the big open fireplace ( wood provided) and more than big enough for the six of us. All the amenities needed were there with the dishwasher and bread machine especially welcome.

Cecile, the caretaker was there to welcome us (with a bottle of wine!) and explained everything about the house and was also during the week very helpful when we had to change a gas bottle. We did not bring our own bedlinnen and towels but Cecile provided us clean ones. The house itself was also very clean. The best part of the property though is the outside. With two big terraces, both with their own open fireplace, and the breathtaking views its is never boring. We had lunch from the BBQ almost every day! Of course after a a big walk or a hike because the surrounding nature parks are magnificent. Maps of the tracks and walks are provided and more information can be obtained from the Nature reservat in the village. There are no restaurants in Jujols but we had a few times dinner in the medieval village of Villefrance de Conflent. The nearest shops are in Olette ( very small supermarket and a great delicatessen store) but we did our shopping mainly at the fantastic Tuesday market in Prades and in the nearby SuperU supermarche ( great oysters!).

All and all we had a great time and will certainly come back again!

Endroit magnifique mais location assez sale

  • 2 of 5

Owner's Response: We always ask our guests to bring their own bed linens, also Mr/Mrs Anomyme. If they would have wanted to use bed linens they could have asked and we would have arranged for a new set. The ceilings of most of the bedrooms are normal height, in the bedrooms meant for children the ceilings are indeed a bit low, as they often are in old mountain houses.

Schönes Haus - mit Abstrichen

  • 3 of 5

Jujols is a medieval, stone-built village located on the sun swept, southern slopes of the mountain Coronat. Situated in the Haut-Conflent Valley in the most southern and sunny department of France, the Pyrénées-Orientales, the village is an hour from the Mediterranean Sea and 30 minutes from the ski resorts in Capcir.

With the Reserve Naturelles in the backyard of the village, and numeral trekking starting here, the views from the property it is a must see for a rural retreat. Fifty minutes from the beaches in Cannet and 45 minutes from the ski slopes of Capcir, there is something for everyone. At approximately 3200 feet (960 meters), the village has its own mediteranean micro- climate and breathtaking panoramic views. Maison Tres Estelles looks directly to Catalan's spiritual Mount Canigou, which rises to meet the mountains bordering Spain and the high massifs in Cerdagne and Andorra. Jujols deserves its name: Balcon de Canigou.
