Why Thomas Di Mercurio chose Gold Country / High Sierra

Large enough for multiple families.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family just recently stayed up in your cabin in Pioneer this past weekend and left on Wednesday. First of all, we wanted to say thank you! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful home with us. Your house was amazing. The space was unbelievable. All of the bedrooms gave everyone privacy and space. When adults were up in the evening the kids couldn't hear our laughs and voices due to the doors and privacy of each bedroom. Your home is absolutely perfect for large families with kids. We used your kitchen for almost all our meals and loved the wonderfully stocked cabinet of spices, which we added too! :-) You had so many pots and pans to choose from as well as dinner plates and silverware. If we come back to Northern California we will definitely contact you about staying in our home again.

A few more things to share, we loved sitting out on the deck and enjoying the beautiful deep forest cover while sipping wine in the evenings. It was almost like living inside of a tree house. The amount of board games, not to mention the game room gave our kids plenty to keep themselves busy during our trip. The kids did try to go swimming in the pond, but it was so cold they only lasted a few minutes. It was humorous trying to watch them go waist deep in that cold, spring fed mountain water. Again, thank you so much for allowing us into your home. It was amazing.

Sincerely,

The Karnoscak Family

Very nice property with lots of amenities!

  • 5 of 5

My stay at this property was fantastic. There were lots of things to do at the property as well as the surrounding area. It was a 20 minute drive to Jackson Rancheria casino resort and downtown Jackson.

There was high-speed Internet, cable TV, game room, three levels each with their own restroom and living room. There was also a pond and hiking in the backyard. This was very private and secluded.

We found lots of things to do in the area like go to the snow and the black chasm. There were plenty of good restaurants along the way. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The property was just as described, and very clean. It was the perfect place for our two families and our 4 year old granddaughter. The owner was very prompt in getting back to me before we arrived, and during our stay. It is a beautiful setting and close to everything we needed. We are looking forward to another stay at the cabin.

A great place to stay with a large group of family or friends!

  • 5 of 5

Overall, this house was perfect for our family as we celebrated Christmas! It had plenty of space, lots of bedrooms, the kitchen had everything we needed im regards to utensils, pots, pans, etc.

The house is a bit low in elevation, so we didn't actually get snow at our place, but it was only a 10-15 minute drive farther up the mountain to get to plenty of snow.

There is a large game room, which was great for the kids in our family to play in. The only issue was the room wasn't connected to the house (it was right next door, but you have to walk outside to get to it), and it's only heated by a wood burning fireplace. The kids had to wear their heavy winter clothes to be able to play in it. Other than that, however, the space is nice to play pool, games etc.

Lastly, the house is heated by a pellet stove on the bottom floor. It heated the house well enough, but there were a couple rooms that still stayed rather cold. We ran out of pellets, and the owner was on top of things and got us more that very same day, so that was awesome.

Wonderful, beautiful, rekaxing, fun family stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed here a few times. It's very private on a big fenced in property. Lots of room for our two young boys to explore, ride bikes, and go for long walks. Its beautiful too. The house itself was very clean and cozy. Room for multiple families to stay. There is even a separate game room close to the house with heat, tv, pool table, air hockey and more. The kids loved it! We even took a short 20 min drive to a perfect place for the kids to play in the snow and go sleading. This cabin is great for a romantic weekend, a big family gathering, or a fun family weekend with your kids. We will stay here again!

Perfect place to have our family together

  • 5 of 5

Thomas was very flexible when we asked to have our get together in his home. The house was very large and we had four families staying together. The three floors gave extra privacy for each family.

The setting is quiet and peaceful.

We loved taking the tour of Black Caverns and the kids couldn't stop talking about sifting sand for gemstones. There are hundreds of hikes in the area but very few are open for the winter we discovered.

The game room was an extra bonus that gave the kids something to do. Loved staying here and wood definitely recommend it and we will return again. Thank you again!

One thing that we weren't prepared for was that the house is heated with a pellet stove and gas fireplaces so it took a half day to get it up to a comfortable temperature. This should be noted on the listing.

Perfect space for our family, beautiful property and cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Thomas' cabin. I was there with my immediate family - parents, sisters, their husbands and mine. It was absolutely perfect to have the three levels each with different rooms. We all basically had our own space and it was great! Living room was cozy and the huge sectional (not pictured) was unbelievably comfy! We had deer come about 5 feet from us and the scenery was beautiful, especially with the changing of colors during the fall. The game room was an added plus, a separate building off of the house and we had so much fun playing in their (a bunch of 30 year olds). We did encounter issues with the oven and probably more of an operational error because Thomas said he checked it afterward and it worked fine. The dishwasher was broken but we didn't mind handwashinf, and Thomas assured me he could have had a plumber over there quickly if I would have called him during our stay, but it was no biggy. The wifi was amazing to have because there's no cell service nearby. All in all it was a great weekend and we'd love to rent from again!
