Walking into our lovely home provides an immediate breathtaking view of the Anchorage Bowl, Cook Inlet, Mount Susitna, the Kenai Peninsula and Mount Denali. The home’s soaring roofline, sculptured saddle walls and easy flow of rooms provides a transition from the formal to the informal designed to give guests easy access to a variety of conversational areas and a spacious kitchen set up for casual eating or more ambitious cooking endeavors. The home is ideal for large gatherings.
The lower level features a large entertainment area with a pool table, 8 person hot tub and sauna. Five spacious bedrooms offer a variety of sleeping arrangements; one king bed, 3 queen beds, and 7 twin beds. Two of the bathrooms are en suite and two are across the hallway from the bedrooms. Every bedroom has a lovely view of the hillside and Anchorage Bowl.
The Chugach State Park, larger than Rhode Island, and rich with walking trails and wildlife is a short 10 minute drive from our home.
Heading down the hill, visitors find a variety of restaurants, shops and dining experiences. Driving south visitors discover one of the top scenic highways in the United States; the Seward Highway. With beautiful mountains on one side and the Turnagain Arm named by Captain Cook, whales can sometimes be seen following the salmon up to the mouths of the glacier fed rivers. The area provides a plethora of outdoor adventures from rock climbing to wind surfing.
The Anchorage International Airport and downtown Anchorage are a short 20 minute drive from our home. Historical downtown Anchorage features the impressive Anchorage Museum, Performing Arts Center and Town Square, Convention Center, fine restaurants, clubs, and numerous artists’ venues. During the summer, the Farmer’s Market provides fresh produce and Alaskan made artifacts.
