This luxury traditional style villa, situated on the 10th fairway of the golf course, is the perfect venue for a family or golfing holiday. A safe, gorgeous sandy beach is within easy walking distance and several other spectacular beaches are only a short drive away. The villa is luxuriously furnished with a large, bright living room which has seating for 8 and satellite TV. The dining area has a large extendable table and also seating for 8. There are 3 bedrooms on the ground floor consisting of a twin room with its own ensuite bathroom and seperate door to the courtyard, and two further twin rooms with a shared family bathroom, together with the fully-fitted kitchen, making the house suitable for those who require downstairs accommodation. The master suite is upstairs and has an ensuite bathroom and large roof terrace.

The large and spacious garden has a paved area infront of the large patio doors overlooking the golf course. There is a large outdoor table with seating for 10 on this patio which is also shaded by a wooden pergola. The area around the 8m x 4m swimming pool is decked and is ideal for sunloungers. The pool is also surrounded by fencing, however sections infront of the decking areas are removeable if visitors prefer. In addition their is also a large courtyard, ideal for the sunny but cooler winter months. The remainder of the garden is grassed, private and secure. Access to the car port is via an electric gate.

Hire car rates: Cars can be hired easily on line and I recommend that you 'surf' to find the best deal for you. A car is advisable but not absolutely necessary. Faro airport is the best for the villa at approximately one hour away, however Seville is also convenient only an extra few mins more than Faro. Again, 'surf' the net for the best deals for flights. Faro is extremely well served and Ryanair fly daily to Seville.

Golf information:: The villa occupies a beautiful location, overlooking the 10th fairway of the Nuevo Portil Campo de Golf. El Rompido Golf Course is less than 5 minutes' drive away. The courses here on the Atlantic Coast of Spain are relatively quiet, of excellent quality and much better value than those over the border in Portugal. In total there are 6 courses within a 15 min drive of the villa and a further 4 within another 20 minutes. Discounted Green Fees can be organised through our local rep.

Beach: The beach is a 10 - 15 min stroll away, and has miles of golden sand. There is also a 5km long sand spit aprox 200m offshore from the main beach which can be accesed via water taxi's during the high season.

Beach Towels and Parasols are provided.

Fantastic villa

We had a great week in Andy's beautiful, comfortable and super clean villa. The lovely pool was a great hit with the children (it's walled so safe for little ones). The nearby beaches are stunning - miles of beautiful sand and only an hours drive to Seville. Highly recommend!

A very pleasant holiday

We enjoyed a wonderful month during Jan/Feb 2018

The modern house was clean and well-aired; fully equipped.

All main UK TV channels, and Apple TV for those with iPads

Broadband was just about adequate at 2.5Mbps but sometimes buffered when streaming

For a winter let the heating, provided by A/C units was OK. But when the promised log-burner is installed it will be perfect.

If you are not into golf then the surrounding area provides many cycling tracks ( to Huelva, Punta Maria and Cartaya), walking through the pine forests and long, empty sandy beaches.

Don’t look for any nightlife in El Portil, it is shut for winter. But there is excellent bird-watching; flamingos, storks, egret, sea eagles , hoopoes amongst the many .

We would happily return

Better than expexted

Lovely villa in lovely surroundings. We went as a group of 3 couples and there was plenty of room for everyone. Very well equipped on every level from kitchen to bedrooms and bathrooms to outdoor space. The surrounding areas are great . We loved El Rompido and went for lunch there a few times. Not many restaurants open in the evenings anywhere during the week at this time of year because there are not the tourists about, but alot more at the weekends. Good supermarkets are within easy reach of the villa so not really a problem. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. Any problems we had, which were few, were quickly sorted by Emma and Chris and the team. Thankyou for a great holiday.

excellent, except tv never worked throughout stay.

I have been trying to contact euro assistance (property insurance division). Since you recommended this insurance to cover any damage to Property 82896 (El Portil, Cartaya, owner: Andy Gosling, picture opposite), and we wish to claim for accidental damage to two dining room chairs by a very young child, during our stay, can you please help me to contact this elusive insurance group? Great villa with gated private pool. Lovely views onto the golf course. Lots of walking/ running routes and local cafe's. Perfect place to relax and unwind.

Excellent villa in peaceful location

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed at this villa and are hoping to return again in the future, the villa has everything that you need and is set in a peaceful area but within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The villa is very clean and comfortable and has all mod cons, Andy the owner is very helpful and informative and is more than happy to deal with any queries. We had a very relaxing stay and look forward to returning next year.

The villa is situated on a quiet road on the Neuvo Portil Campo de Golf, overlooking the 10th green of the 18 hole course. Within a short walking distance there are bars and resturants, as well as two 4 star hotels that both offer Spa / Fitness facilities. The stunning beach of El Portil is also just a short 10 minute walk away. 5min drive up the coast is the quaint fishing village of El Rompido, which boasts many fabulous fish resturants amongst others. Additionally there is a Marina complex, two further golf courses along side a 5 star hotel. If a little more excitement is in order then a little further up the road there is a water park and karting track. During the summer months the town of Punta Umbria, which is just 15 mins drive from the villa, provides great nightlife, with large open air nightclubs, for the young or young at heart to dance the night away. Our local representative will be able to provide further info on the area, as well as arranging discounted golf packages.

Other Activities: Karting + Waterpark + Theme Park (Seville).

Golf: Neuvo Portil golf is less than a 5 minute drive from the villa to the club house. Green fees are great value at a fraction of the cost to those on the Portugese side of the border. The excellent 18 hole course is rarely that busy, so no frustrating waiting around. Just 5 minutes drive from here, El Rompido golf boasts a further two superb 18 hole courses. Several other courses are also within a half hour drive. Our local representative can arrange discounted green fees (approx £22 pp) on request.
