Fantastic views, good location, functional apartment, exactly as shown in photos
Loved the resort of Port Soller everything about it was just what we look for. Apartment is located high up the mountain side so walking up the steps or road back each day was hard work especially as whilst we were there we experienced temperatures of 37-40 degrees and only dropping to 28 at night. However the views from the patio were amazing, the glow of the sunset reflecting magical colours on the mountains and watching the moon rising above the mountains was breathtaking - a view I would never get fed up of. The apartment was functional. Plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 teenagers. Wifi was great. Didn't know how to get the TV to work, but didn't need it. Air conditioning was brilliant. Some things need doing up - both bathrooms could do with re-grouting around the showers, a couple of drawer knobs came off, the roman blinds drove me mad, the settee was well worn. The shower in the second bathroom was very small and the tap mixer got very hot and it was difficult to avoid burning yourself in the small enclosure. The kitchen was great, more than enough crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils etc. The main disappointment was the area around the pool. The pool itself was clean and good for cooling off and is as it looks in the photos, but the area around the pool wasn't cleaned enough and there were a few old sun loungers that were dirty and a couple of plastic chairs. I look forward to lounging by the pool but it wasn't possible. I was bitten by mosquitoes several times despite using repellent but that was likely to be the mountain location and all the bushes/trees surrounding the apartment and pool. It did not spoil my holiday. The location of the apartment was great, quiet area, lovely walk to the lighthouse with breathtaking views, it was just difficult walking back up the steps from the beach and at night. Beach was gorgeous, warm calm sea, perfect for snorkelling and paddle boarding. Disappointed we couldn't find a short boat trip up the coast to see the island from the sea and the coves, rock formations etc. Only boat trip from Port Soller was to Sa Collobra - 50 mins trip north then lunch, then visit a cove for a bit, then get next boat back - but this would have cost us 110 euros. Tram from Port Soller to Soller was very expensive 7 euros one way for 10 minutes. It was only 1 euro 50 on the bus, but had to experience the tram just once. Overall an excellent family holiday and would go back.
Very clean and comfortable
Great area apart from the steps but great workout, only thing that could have been better was paid 40 euros for checking in at 10pm but there wasn’t a welcome pack ie water , bread etc also only 1 set of keys , which was a little difficult with 2 couples if we wanted to do separate things
Great views - just needs a makeover and more consideration to guests
The most genuine thing about the advertising of this property is the balcony view. It is very nice and a great asset to this accommodation.
- the layout is good and would be fine for a family of four.
- great view and quiet at night
- for this particular accommodation, without any direct comparison, it felt like reasonable value for money
- it is tired in appearance.
- Kitchen has majority what you need, but an odd array of plates, cooking equipment etc. Oddly, only one main plate, the rest are side plate size.
- sheets, duvet cover etc are very old and not very nice at all.
- no tea towels to dry dishes and the dishwasher was faulty
Fyi for future guests:
- As previous reviews have stated there are lots of mosquito's. Not ideal for us with the worry for our 12 month old boy, but clearly not the owners fault.
- quite a tight /narrow/ and steep entrance into the car park. Recommend a small car
Relaxing, sunny, revived
Port de Soller is the best venue in Majorca. The property had full air conditioning which is needed in summer.
Apartment was a bit dark and couldn't use the balcony as much as we liked because of an over flowing water pipe from above which created a haven for mosquitoes. Also had a drain out the front which again had mossies flying around.
Overall would come back again as soon as possible. Pool on the level with the apartment which meant no steps to run out and cool off. Still the steps down to the beach keep you fit!!
Lovely holiday in Porta Soller , apartment was great with lovely view and great Wifi !
a lovely week's holiday in beautiful porta Soller . Apartment slightly smaller than the photos make it look but nether the less had everything you needed . Clean and plenty of towels . Lovely view and balcony was great for lunches . Beds really comfy . Kitchen excellent ! TV didn't get fixed while we were here but we didnt mind as we're not using it . The electricity short circuited when we used the oven and all the rings but was fixed quickly . The shower in the larger bathroom was excellent but we didn't use the other one as very small . MIcaela the agent was excellent . Recommend to go to art museum in Soller and have lunch in the square , Deya and Fauntenlux lovely villages to visit . Over all very good . Thank you
Good apartment with some drawbacks
The apartment for well equipped and the resort lovely. Sadly, the pool was out of action the whole time we were there, which was very disappointing for the kids. A lot of steps up to the apartment - worth considering in the heat or if carrying heavy shopping.
Sóller's port is the only natural bay on the North-West coast of Mallorca, an exceptional natural enclosure that is well worth a visit. The old fisherman's quarter of Santa Caterina conserves its marine character.
Port Sóller combines fishing with recreation, such as sailing or enjoying the beach. Along the front are many shops and restaurants. The two beaches, Ca’n Repic and Ca’n Generós, the boat trips to Sa Calobra or Cala Tuent, the fresh fish, a stroll up to the lighthouse, the sunset from the maritime museum, the Sóller tram, or simply the marvelous views that make the port an obligatory visit for the tourists; a real luxury within reach for all!
