Please find below our most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answers you’re looking for please contact us!

-- Can we stay for 2 nights during the week

Yes, of course, you can book Tues-Thurs for 2 nights! Please message us and we can send a pre-approval for booking. 3 nights are still required for weekends – this ensures that you have the use of our Cottage for the whole weekend.

-- Can children and well behaved dogs stay at the Cottage

Unfortunately our Cottage is not equipped for the safety of children under age 15 due to the loft/stair layout and our seasonal rushing creeks/pools. We also do not accept pets as there are some natural & predatory hazards for pets in our rural environment.

-- Where is the nearest Supermarket?

The CalMart Grocery Store is located ~3 miles east in Downtown Calistoga. The store has a nice array of specialty items (love the cheese section!) and organic items. Store closes at 9 pm each night. For a closer quick trip for milk, there is "More for Less" Gas station open until Midnight.

-- Do I need a car/driver?

Yes ...but Uber/Lyft drivers are available in the Calistoga area for rides to restaurants or wineries should you want to just relax and go wine tasting. We also provide a referral to a fun and friendly tour driver to arrange your specific itinerary for a half or full day of wine tasting!

-- Do you have a coffee machine?

Yes, there is a 12 Cup Brew Central Programmable Coffee Maker with coffee grinder available for you to use. There is also a Bodum French Press - let your coffee grounds swirl around, push the plunger down and pour the coffee right into your mug. It’s that easy!

-- Do you have a barbecue?

Yes! Prep your favorite meal and enjoy sitting on the covered Porch, go dip your feet in the nearby creek or play some frisbee.. and then return for freshly barbecued food. You'll be building up a good appetite with all the exercise you will be doing!

-- I’m hungry now! Where can I find a tasty burger in the Napa Valley?

Gott’s Roadside in St. Helena started offering the Impossible Burger on their menu recently! Meat eaters and vegetarians alike agree across the board: it’s SO delicious. Another tip: Gotts’ Pumpkin Milkshake is a seasonal local fav!

-- Can I have my groceries/packages delivered to the home?

CalMart does not deliver groceries. Guests have used Amazon Locker/Delivery Scvs located in Napa - 3682 Bel Aire Plz, at Whole Foods, conveniently located off of Hwy 29. This is the last stop for Big Box store for amenities before entering the Napa Valley!

-- How far is it to the beach/lakes?

We are approximately an hour away from the coast and 45 minutes to the largest lakes - Lake Sonoma and Berryessa - which comes complete with sand, boating, paddle sports, and swimming

--Do you provide wood for the wood burning stove?

Some wood is provided to start you off. If you need some more, you can top up at CalMart Grocery Store in town.

STAFF & SERVICES - Extra cost & advance notice is required:

- Airport transportation / Valley excursions w/ private driver (Weber Touring). We provide a referral to a personal tour driver & guide to help plan your local wine tastings, Weber Touring. Our guests have used Weber Touring ($50/hr) for daily itinerary/reservations or simply driving for a few hours for wine tastings, dependent on one's budget!

About The Owner

I was born and raised in the Napa Valley in the early 70's, and I now enjoy sharing our Family property in Calistoga with visitors. I have been fortunate to travel, meeting and hosting visitors from around the world. I love early trail runs with my red dog, Abby, and "rewarding" UCSF medical students. I've lived in a 1976 VW camper (in 1976!), in a 15th century hand-hewn farmhouse, in a classic Bauhaus-inspired home and today, I continue to share my interest in providing and sustaining beautiful spaces for travelers to enjoy in the Wine Country.

Why The Owner chose Calistoga

Our Home in Calistoga has been described as highly "recommended for anyone who values luxurious simplicity, peaceful surroundings & immaculate accommodations" and as "the perfect spot to watch the daylight fade while drinking wine you've discovered earlier in the day".

It was a pleasure to have Kalain and her friends stay at our home. They were very appreciative, self-sufficient and they seemed to have enjoyed their weekend in the Wine Country! This VRBO Fabulous, spacious, and very centrally located.

  • 5 of 5

3 girlfriends and I stayed at this charming cottage for a long weekend in the wine country. The cottage is beautifully furnished and was very comfortable for our group. The kitchen is well equipped for anything you need and has newer appliances. The living room is spacious with comfortable furniture making you feel like you are in your own home. The property surrounding the cottage is heavily wooded with a wonderful creek running through it. What a beautiful setting. It is located very close to a quaint town, Callistoga, which is noted for spas and also offers some great beautique shopping. The VRBO owner was very responsive and a huge help in providing guidance for activities and wineries to visit while we were there. She also connected us with a great driver "Greg" who organized an awesome day of winery tours and drove us for the day. He was able to set up a private tour at a winery right up the road, HLR, at the end of the day and we all agreed that HLR's wines were our top wine choices of the day. HLR's owner was so gracious and gave us an in depth understanding of the "wine making" process. I would highly recommend a stop at this winery if you have time. Thanks for the wonderful weekend!! Great memories! I would highly recommend a stay here.

My all time favorite rental to date!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot express how lovely Kendall was throughout the process and how incredible her home is. I visited Napa with my mom, sister and grandma and her house exceeded our expectations.

From sitting outside on the porch, to hanging in the hammock, to the redwoods behind the property, we had the best experience imaginable. Kendall truly goes above and beyond. She was exteremely helpful, responsive, and helped us curate the perfect 3 generational trip. We will never forget our morning hikes to town, watching deer in the yard, and our baby bobcat sighting down the road! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly relaxing yet chic Sonoma getaway.

Cute Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Kendall was a wonderful host. She is fun, personable, and very helpful. Her instructions for accessing her secluded property and instructions for our stay were spot on. She maintained contact, by text, to ensure we were happy and to give a little advice on a hike around her hood. She give us some local area tips and the name of a driver. Her cottage was very cute, clean, and comfortable. It was a pleasure waking up in the morning and drinking coffee by a babbling brook and watching the deer and jack rabbit feed in her yard. There is also a beautiful garden/orchard on the property. The only warnings I would give is that there are steep stairs leading up to the 2 bedrooms that could be an issue for some and ATT 's wireless service was spotty, at best. That being said, I would definitely stay at the Calistoga cottage again. Thanks, Kendall!

A Wonderful Weekend Getaway in Calistoga!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely cottage was perfect for our family for a wedding weekend in Calistoga. Beautifully furnished with its spacious open floor plan, comfortable beds, large kitchen bar and table and a nice large bathroom that met all of our needs. With amazing charm and comfort, many modern conveniences, and an abundance of nature surrounding this charming cottage, we couldn’t have asked for more!

We especially enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch, listening to the sounds of the birds and the creek running through the property, as well as resting on the hammock or sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the shade of the tall pines. Beauty was all around us! We loved our walks passed the lovely garden with olive and fruit trees, vegetables and herbs, and appreciated the many suggestions from our wonderful host, Kendall, to explore and enjoy the area to the fullest. The recommended hike up the country road and over the mountain, passing through the AVA winery and ending in the town of Calistoga was fun. We enjoyed the lovely views of the vineyard on the terraced hillside and being far away from city distractions.

We highly recommend a stay at this lovely cottage for a comfortable peaceful retreat, conveniently located just a few miles outside of town. Just wish we had more time to explore more of the area and certainly hope to return some day.

We loved the peace and quiet the home provided! The character and charm didn't hurt, either! ;)

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this sweet home for a family wedding at Triple S Ranch (which was gorgeous, by the way) and couldn't have found a better retreat to spend our time while in Northern California! We were "away enough" to have quiet, yet "close enough" to town to enjoy breakfast at Solage (we recommend the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes - Yum!) and Sam's Social after a scenic hike that displays all the varied beauties of nature! The home was in perfect condition and the charm and character were sweet and cherished as we were hoping for a place that felt like home. We loved hearing the sounds of the stream while reading in the hammock. One afternoon we enjoyed the sweetest nap as we lounged on the living room couches with the French doors open to the sounds of the afternoon (don't worry, of course the house is equipped with a full screen to stretch across those French doors). The home owner offered us exceptional customer service by offering fabulous suggestions ranging from exploring the town to grabbing lunch and where to see great views on a hike - bonus, those beautiful views are just off a hiking trail/backroad right across from the property)!! We were asking last minute questions right up to our stay and she always welcomed our inquiries with a positive attitude and cheerful disposition. She blessed us, for sure!! Looking forward to visiting again and if you're searching for an amazing place to stay....your search is over, my friend! ;)

Idyllic setting for this sweet, rustic cottage in wine country

  • 5 of 5

If you are seeking a private, idyllic setting in the heart of wine country for your next vacation, this is it! My sister, two daughters and I loved everything about this sweet, rustic, perfectly appointed cottage. It is located minutes away from downtown Calistoga, and yet you will feel like you are blissfully in the middle of nowhere, giving you the best of all worlds.

We felt at home immediately, thanks to Kendall's wonderful hospitality. She provided us with everything we needed and was totally responsive to any and all questions we had. She was an exquisite hostess.

The beds were heavenly, the kitchen had everything we needed, the living spaces were totally comfortable. We particularly loved having the perfect hiking road that took us from the cottage through a winding, up and downhill view of terraced wineries (breath taking views!) straight to the middle of Calistoga.

We also thoroughly enjoyed being chauffeured to wineries by Greg. Totally knowledgeable about the area, he was low key, very responsive and a delightful companion for the day.

If you prefer to be just a bit away from the hustle of town and immersed in the beauty of the area, this cottage is your home away from home. We cannot wait to return!
