Villa Bergamotto has been designed so that it can be rented as a whole for large families and friends, or rented individually as two separate apartments.

Villa Bergamotto has assessable parking, ideally located close to sandy beaches, restaurants and bars. Positioned centrally between the magnificent medieval towns of Tropea and Pizzo.

Recently renovated to a high specification including natural travertine marble floors and bathroom walls.

The ground floor apartment sleeps 2-6 and has a large pergola with a covered veranda, whilst the first floor sleeps 2-5 with a 40m2 sun terrace overlooking panoramic views of the sea and rolling hills all perfect for ‘al fresco’ dining.

Entry to both apartments is through a gated driveway, the villa is totally independent and has a walled garden.

On arrival you will be greeted by our lovely tri-lingual housekeeper, she will introduce you to your apartment and is available to contact during your stay for any questions you may have.

Ground Floor Apartment:

The Ground Floor apartment is ideal for two couples or two families as it has two spacious double bedrooms, a large open plan lounge with large comfortable double sofa beds, a large travertine marble tiled bathroom and modern fitted kitchen with breakfast island and stools, a large pergola and a covered veranda with quality dining seating and sun loungers. The ground floor apartment also benefits from having a pellet stove that efficiently heats the whole apartment during winter months.

This apartment is approximately 120m2. The entrance is through double French doors from the veranda to the large open plan contemporary kitchen with dining area, the lounge area has two large comfortable sofas which can convert to double beds. Bose iPod sound station. Doors to two spacious bedrooms and luxury bathroom with separate shower, bath, bidet and WC, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Door to utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board etc.

All bedrooms are furnished with simplicity and taste.

The garden area has a granite stone driveway with young fruit trees, and potted plants.

First Floor Apartment:

This apartment has panoramic views from both terrace and balcony. Entrance door from stairs and balcony to hallway.

Two double bedrooms with sea views, one with beamed ceiling and one with archway to dressing area. Fitted luxury travertine marble tiled bathroom with separate shower, bath, bidet and WC, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer.

Villa Bergamotto is nestled in an elevated position overlooking the crystal waters of the bay and rolling hills, scattered with small olive groves and roaming goats, you truly can enjoy a bygone age of nature with a beach holiday. The villa is ideally positioned between two magnificent medieval towns of Pizzo and Tropea; both towns are only 10 min drive away.

Briatico:

Is a friendly small market town; it has numerous family run shops offering fresh local produce including restaurants and bars. The nearest beach is less than 1 km away from the villa and benefits from having quality beach side restaurants offering fresh home cooked cuisine with views over the bay they are open all year round. The beach has a raft of activities including scuba diving, snorkelling, pedalo, boat, and sun bed hire. Part of the beach has a very safe naturally shallow children’s bathing area.

Tropea:

A large lively historical town blessed with old magnificent buildings, narrow cobbled streets filled with bars, ‘al fresco’ restaurants and individual shops open until the late evening. A must do whilst in Tropea is to visit one many cliff top viewing areas where you can look out over the sea and admire the famous convent of Santa Maria Dell'Isola.

Pizzo:

Blessed with medieval origins; this little fishing town is quite stunning when you wander through its narrow streets full of ancient houses looking out over the wonderful sea views. Pizzo is also the home of Tartufo ice cream there are numerous al fresco Gelaterias serving locally produced Tartufo, it’s one of Italy’s most famous ice creams and a real delicacy, definitely a must before leaving.

Villa Bergamotto offers a true 'home from home' experience. It has been totally refurbished to a very high standard with marble floors & bathrooms all being very spacious with attention to detail.

Both apartments are well furnished and include beach chairs, cool bag for picnics & even a beach portable BBQ. The terraces have quality sofas, sun chairs, dining furniture and romantic lighting - the perfect setting for an apperitvo or al fresco dining.

What makes this apartment unique

Location is superb, quiet yet in a few minutes you can be on the beach or drinking/eating in one of the lovely family owned beach pizzerias. Our beaches have free and easy parking. A short drive to the more touristic towns of Tropea and Pizzo.

Ideal also in Autumn or winter for walkers or trekking as we have a very efficient pellet stove and electric blankets if needed.

Fantastic Location and Villa

I don't normally write reviews but I enjoyed this holiday so much I thought it unfair not to!

My wife and I stayed in the ground was apartment in the middle of September and we had a fantastic time.

Nigel the owner was super fast and detailed with his correspondence, Francesca the housekeeper had no problem meeting us on arrival late in the evening to give us the keys and show us around.

The accommodation is very spacious, extremely clean, well maintained, it is homely yet modern, the bed was also very comfortable.

The location was perfect, beautiful quiet beaches and restaurants are less than 5 minutes away, & free parking almost on the beach! the sea was very warm and as clear as glass.

We have never been back to the same accommodation twice, but we have already reserved for next year, that tells you how good this holiday was for us.

Sehr gut eingerichtete moderne Wohnung

Die Obergeschosswohnung lässt es an nichts fehlen und die Terrasse ist riesig mit tollen Blick, Sitzgruppe, Esstisch mit Schirm, Liegen und Gasgrill. Der Strand ist in wenigen Minuten erreicht und auch im August nicht so voll wie andernswo. Für alle Fragen stand Francesca helfend bereit. Eine optimale Betreuung. Leider eine Stern Abzug für die Durchgangsstraße, die direkt am Haus verläuft, den Hahn auf der Rückseite, der morgens um 4 mit dem krähen beginnt und die Baustelle des Nachbarns.

Beautiful home it had absolutely everything in you only need take your clothes ...spotlessly clean the house keeper was very helpful ....and if you are lucky enough to spend your holidays here read the details of what nigel has wrote about the restaurants and beaches best places to eat or go he has taken a lot of time to look into all of this you will not be disapointed we had a lovely holiday and found everything around the area following instructions on the sheet downloaded from email sent to us.... well worth a visit we will definatley tell our friends very well recomended we stayed for 11 nights had a fab time..... will definately return one day ... great home ..great place to visit .

Great vacation villa

We had a great vacation at the wonderful villa apartment of Mandy and Nigel. The apartment offers you all the luxury you need to have a fantastic vaction. The owners thought of everything. The place is ultra clean and is beautiful decorated. Our first impression when we entered was -"here we could live" so nice it was. . We also had the pleasure to meet the owners and we only can say that they are lovely correct people. They surprised us also at our arrival with a bottle of Prosecco and cookies. Just like in a fancy hotel. I only can say if we go back to this region we certainly want to rent the same apartment again. Mandy and Nigel thank you to let us have a great vaction

Stylish and luxurious, a perfect location.

We had a wonderful time during our visit at this outstanding apartment.

The villa apartment was extremely clean and well stocked for all your needs. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations in peaceful quiet surroundings this is the perfect location. The beaches nearby are quiet and have free parking, we have stayed in Calabria many times, but Villa Bergamotto was definitely the nicest & most stylish apartment in a lovely area.

VILLA BERGAMOTTO - FANTASTICO !!!

We recently spent two wonderful weeks at Villa Bergamotto

When not at the beach, we were spending time on the terrace enjoying the view and a chilled glass of Prosecco that they kindly left for us.

The apartment has everything (amenities, cooking utensils, laundry room, DVD's games & A/C, etc.) . Lovely soft cotton bed linen and comfy beds.

The beaches at Briatico (less than 5 mins drive) are beautiful soft sand and crystal clear water, and not crowded like Tropea. We had some lovely fresh fish lunches and enjoyed dinner watching the sunset at Perla deal Golfo on the local beach.

Nigel was incredibly helpful and accommodating host, provided a very thorough overview of the area in the rental materials. Of his recommendations, we frequented the local fresh fish store, roadside fresh fruit and veg shops and the weekly market. We found that the fish store had the best selection of fresh fish at 9am and 7pm.. Also, having Francesca, the warm and lovely housekeeper, spoke perfect english and was always on hand if we needed anything.

We hope to come back again.

500 m uphill towards Paradisoni from the SS522 between Pizzo and Tropea. Comfortable 40 min drive from Lamezia Terme Airport. (Direct flights from Ryanair to London Stansted, Stockholm, Dusseldorf, Barcelona, Brussels, Bologna, Milan, Pisa and Tripani. Also flights direct from Gatwick April to October via Monarch Airlines.

Other Activities: Boat trips to nearby islands and volcano

Golf: Excellent Golf & Country Club with swimming pool and restaurants.

Fuedo Montalto Golf Club- Nicotera Limbadi (near Tropea on A3).
