This secure villa offers you lovely views across the valley from the bedrooms, terraces and balconies. There is also a gated area away from your private swimming pool for relaxing.

The house has recently undertaken a complete renovation with the addition of a second floor with new bedrooms and bathrooms and a stunning balcony with views across the valley. It is very comfortably furnished to a very high standard, and has a lovely covered terrace overlooking the pool. It has a pretty garden with many cosy sitting areas and where you can enjoy al fresco dining during the summer evenings. You can walk up the tosca stone steps overlooking the terrace and enjoy the sunset across the valley from the terrace. An ideal G and T seat or day time retreat.

La Corona villa offers you a perfect base for visiting this historic part of Spain, with many great amenities and lively towns and cities only a short drive in any direction. But at the end of the day you can recover to the quiet splendour of your villa for peace and tranquillity. The villa is not suitable for stag and hen parties.

Villa Details: The house is very comfortably furnished to a high standard and has a lovely covered terrace overlooking the pool. It has a nice garden with many cosy sitting areas in sun or shade. You can enjoy al fresco dining during the summer evenings, maybe using the traditional Spanish BBQ. Walk up the tosca stone steps overlooking the terrace and enjoy the sunset across the valley from the owners G & T seat. Smell the lavender and wild herbs and enjoy the very colourful flowers all around you while watching the sunset.

Local Area: The Villa is situated on foothills overlooking Javea port on a well lit quiet no through road. Walk down to the port and after watching the fishermen unload their catch have breakfast at one of the pavement cafes overlooking Javea bay. In the evening eat at one of the numerous restaurants where locals and visitors frequent. Javea old town is 10 min walk away and the more touristic Arenal beach front (with restaurants, bars and clubs) and promenade is a half hour walk or a 5 min car journey away.

Amenity Distance away:

Town 0.5 km.

Beach 1 km.

El Arenal 2 km.

Golf course 7 km.

Tennis courts 3.5 km.

Supermarket 1 km.

Choice of local Restaurants 1 km.

Local shops/Port 1 km.

The pleasant old centre of Javea is worth passing a few hours at one morning. Just wander around admiring the whitewashed buildings with Gothic features. Take a look in the Gothic Church of San Bartolome and visit the busy food market with its stalls full of fresh fish and fruits and vegetables.

Javea Beaches: The coast of Jávea is 25 km long, with beaches which stand out because of their natural beauty, transparent waters and the Mediterranean forests which surround them.

From north to south, the Capes of Sant Antoni, Sant Martí, Negre and La Nau mark the coastline. Jávea has a great variety of beaches to choose from:

Pebble or rock beaches like “La Grava”, “El 1º Muntanyar”, “Calablanca”, “El 2º Muntanyar” or “Benissero” are ideal for water sports such as jetski, windsurfing and canoeing, and are all protected by vigilance services.

The bustling “Arenal” beach offers fine and shallow waters. Its many services include: vigilance services, play areas for children, natural and artificial shade, small motor boat and skate hire, restaurants, cafés and ample parking facilities.

There are also small coves with smooth stones or rock, located in unique, privileged places, like the “Tangó” or “Pope”, “La 1ª Caleta”, “La Barraca” or “Portitxol”.

About Phil Duquemin

Phil and Jackie Duquemin bought the villa in 2003 and have enjoyed many holidays here. It is a second home to them and they look at the villa with a critical eye always looking for improvements

Phil Duquemin purchased this villa in 2003

Why Phil Duquemin chose Javea, Moraira and Denia Area

We had almost given up looking on a trip to view potential holiday homes and then on the last day before leaving we had a phone call from the estate agent telling us of a property was that day on the market. We visited and we loved the really sunny aspect, the location of La Corona, which is very sought after and peaceful yet close to everything and the quality of the build. We knew straight away this was for us. The owner had good personal reasons for selling and he has since become a friend.

Guestbook comments from the owner

You really have thought of everything. It's a real home away from home.

We have HAD THE BEST family holiday (all of us agree) and absolutely love Javea and everything it has to offer a young family.

Thank you so much for letting us stay.

Comfy and clean and near the Port

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for nine weeks and were sad to leave. The villa is well equipped and the beds comfy. The many stairs kept us fit and although the pool looked lovely it was too cold for a swim. We actually got up one morning to three inches of snow in January. We would stay here again as it is near the sea and plces to eat yet is peaceful.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of the property. Also thank you for your kind words. Your photos of the snow sent to us are lovely to have and I think we will find a place for one in the villa. Prior to this winter I understand 1983 was the previous snow fall. However Javea changes quickly and after the snow was a storm and after a few days there was sunshine again. I rarely swim in winter although my children are a bit more hardy than me and take the occasional dip on the best days. Thank you for staying and we hope that you visit again.

Clean and well equipped and very near the port and sea.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely nine weeks here and fell in love with Javea. The house has everything needed and the beds were so comfortable. All those steps kept us fit. There are lots of places to sit with comfy outdoor furniture. Nov, Dec January was too cold to use the lovely pool and we even had snow for one day. Quite rare here. This is a great base to explore the nearby beauty and lovely to come home to. We would recommend this house.

Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in Javéa and what an excellent Villa to stay in. It was of an exceptionally high standard in all respects.

It has wonderful views and is in an extremely quiet location.

Although close enough to walk to the town, local restaurants and shops the walk back up the hill would be a test for anyone, because of this we found that we had to drive most nights.

We used the Villa as base while settling our daughter into her placement year at University in Valencia.

It is perfectly located for us to relax but also close enough to help her settle in.

The owners were extremely helpful throughout the whole booking process.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We tend to walk back up the hill but we are regular walkers and are ok with the incline. As you say the alternative is to park at the bottom of the hill or take a taxi from the port which is about €5.

Excellent villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa with friends having gone out to Javea for a friend’s wedding. The villa is lovely, extremely well kept, very comfortable and kitted out to a high standard. We felt at home there right away. We are really lucky to have found what must be one of the best villas for rental in the area. It is close to the old port which is our favourite part of Javea, walking into the port was quite an easy stroll, no more than 10 minutes. Whilst the hill back up to the villa is quite steep it is doable even for us oldies – I’m 65 my husband is only 60 but has a heart condition and we managed it - you just need to take your time. We also walked to the old town and the Arenal one day – but did cheat and get a taxi back! It lived up to its description and met our expectations. We can’t recommend this villa highly enough.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to do a review. We appreciate this and the comments therein. We do a lot of walking especially in Javea and agree the walk down to the port or Arenal with the expectation of dinner or a glass of wine is an easy and pleasant one. The walk back up the hill although harder we laughingly describe as 'letting our dinner settle before bed'. We too sometimes get a taxi back from the Arenal which is usually about Euros 8 however my wife says after a taxi that only a coffee on the balcony rather than a nightcap is all that is deserved before retiring! We hope that you will visit our villa again and thank you for staying.

Just returned from an amazing 7 days holiday in Corona Javea

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend anyone to stay in this beautiful villa. We had 3 teenagers in our party and they loved their stay. The villa is modern, fully equipped and in an ideal part of Javea. Javea itself offers a lot for everyone, beaches are lovely and the restaurants very well priced and offers good food.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. We wanted to make the villa perfect for us and if that's the case we thought it would be good for our guests. We are pleased you also like the location. Javea is a fantastic town with lots going for it for all age groups. We hope to have you stay again. Kind regards Phil and Jackie

Lovely villa and great location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at villa for 2 weeks. The quality of this villa is superb. There is everything you want and more. Pool is lovely and clean with plenty of room to enjoy the sun. You can walk down to Javea though I would wear trainers and take shoes with you in rucksack. We did this a few times but did cheat and get a taxi which was 7 euros. Arsenal is around 10 euros with a tip. The only thing was that we were unsure what " over use of air con will be charged" would be classed as. My understanding is this is the same in all villas nowadays so is not a criticism of the villa. Included in the villa are high quality, like the rest of the villa, ceiling fans. These are very good but given the amazing temp in July of 36 degrees the fans were pushing hot air around. With regards to the owners, they were excellent in answering questions before booking and supported me after booking was made. Gloria is on hand in Javea and she is great. Answering any questions and even supplying a few groceries when we got there. Would I go back? Absolutely and I recommend it to anyone thinking about it and have forwarded to friend and family. Owner's Response: Hi Kevin, Thank you for taking the time to post a review, especially such a nice one. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and also that you were pleased with the villa and its location etc. Most owners mention on their web sites and conditions about over use of the air conditioning (AC) as sometimes clients from countries not used to using AC leave the villa with it on or spend their time around the pool with the AC blasting away and the doors and windows open. This gets very expensive so we include this comment so clients think about wasteful use, although we have not felt cause to charge extra. I will pass on to Gloria your comments as she will be pleased. We are really lucky to have someone like Gloria around to look after our clients for us and take care of the villa. Thank you for your choosing our villa, taking care of it and for the very kind review. We hope that you will stay again. Kind Regards Phil and Jackie

The villa is 1 hour 15 minutes by car from Alicante Airport and 10 minutes longer away from Valencia Airport. The villa is situated in a quiet road above the port. Set in a residential road there is little passing traffic. The villa overlooks a 'zona verde' giving a view of fir trees down the valley towards Moraira. The area of La Corona is an exclusive part of Javea and is in close proximity to the beautiful port (with lovely beach), the old town and 30 minutes walk or a short drive to the bustling Arenal where there is a nice sandy beach, many restaurants and clubs.

Within 20 minutes drive are other more exclusive beaches where if you want more privacy it is easily available. Golf close by at La Sella or Javea Golf Club.
