Amazing flat, great location!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the flat with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved it. The design is cool and stylish, the flat is very comfortable, and there are all the amenities you need for a stay, just as described. The block is recently renovated, looks amazing, just like new, the only issue is that the lift in the building goes only till the third floor and the flat is on the fifth so there are two more flights of stares you need to take on foot.

The location of the flat is ideal, just minutes away from city centre and across the road from Hyde Park. Lots of places to go to in the area too. Also there are about 5 different metro lines so commuting is very easy.

The host is very responsive and helpful.

We will definitely come to stay there again, very recommended!

Location, location, location!

The flat was a quick walk away from the Paddington Station and Hyde Park. We really enjoyed our stay (2 people). The only thing to note is the flat retains all heat so on sunny days, it can get hot within the flat into the night. The location made this a great place to stay and Alon was a great host!! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to London.

“Paddington Palace”😁

  • 5 of 5

It’s not Paddington Palace but it’s a great place to stay. As a solo elderly(72) female traveler I always felt safe in the area. Do take the Heathrow Express from Heathrow if you are flying in. It’s faster and cheaper than a taxi and an easy walk even with luggage to Allen’s flat. The signage at the airport makes it easy to use the Express and the only stop is Paddington Station so even with jet lag and a muddled brain it can be accomplished.

The flat:

I had a little trouble opening up the lock with the key but I let Allen know and hopefully it will have had a little oil before you use it. The 2 flights of stairs once you get off the elevator are A little challenge with luggage but no problem after that. I was a little dismayed when I went in and found the “brick” I found so charming was actually wallpaper. It’s tiny but had all that I needed, comfortable bed, kitchenette and bathroom. Think it might be crowded with 2 people. I had difficulty initially connecting to the internet but after 2 calls to Allen I got it. It was comforting to know that he was available if I had any problems. My only problem was that the aptartment was hot and though there was a fan I would suggest a more powerful one.

The area is perfect for catching the underground. I was able to walk to Little Venice, Nottingham Hill and Hyde Park and found it a great area to explore on foot.

Thanks Allen. I had a great visit.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, amazing flat, very central, lovely block. Really enjoyed my stay, very conveniently situated, just around the corner from Hyde Park. The place has everything you need for a stay in London, owner is attentive and responds quickly. Recommended, will stay there again.

Sweet little flat, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in this little flat. The location is perfect -- two blocks to Paddington Stations, Lancaster Gate Station and Hyde Park. The neighborhood is great with a wonderful Italian restaurant down the block and a Caffe Nero plus many other restaurants and shops. You will get your workout in if you walk all the way up to the flat. There is a lift that takes you up to the third floor but if you're claustrophobic, know that it's about 3x3ft. We only used the kitchenette as a beer fridge but you could easily make your breakfast every morning. We tried to do as much as we could on this trip so once we left in the morning, we basically did not come back to the flat until late at night. This is a great place for a single traveler or a couple. It is small but we just needed it to sleep and shower (quick to heat up and plenty of hot water). The location was the most important thing to us and you can't beat the price for this location. Before you reach Hyde Park, there is another cute little park called Sussex. When I travel, I like to feel what it's like to live in a neighborhood instead of being in a generic hotel. If you have mobility issues this probably isn't a good fit but if you can walk steps with ease, definitely give this place a try. There's a wardrobe to hold your clothes but not a ton of storage space. You should pack light anyway to have room to bring things home and because there is a washer/dryer in the flat. We rode the Tube to and from Heathrow which was very simple since the flat is two blocks from Paddington Station (exit station, turn left). Alan is great to work with and communicates often to check in and update. Bonus: you can pretend that the Lotus, Mercedes or BMWs parked out front are yours ;)

March 2018

All of the kitchenware was filthy dirty.

I melted the electric kettle on the stove which was working very slowly both before and after my mistake.

Owner kept entire large deposit for an inexpensive kettle.

Renter beware.

Owner's Response: Dear Shannon, I'm sorry your stay wasn't pleasant, but not only you caused damage to the flat and created a hazard, but you also didn't tell me about it so I had to discover it myself after your check out. I tried to contact you a couple of times but you ignored me. The deposit I had to take didn't even cover the cost of damages you caused to the kettle and hob which I had to replace. Just fyi, electric kettle won't work any faster if you'll put it on the working hob.

Paddington is a lovely Central area of London (zone1) located just off Hyde Park, very close to Notting Hill and the West End. Stroll through the suburb to find pretty parks, gardens, squares, cafes, the Grand Union Canal and London Paddington station. Losts of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the area. Very close to the center of the city.
