A big welcome from Jill & Paul at Frog Lake Yurts.
We are nestled on the edge of a sleepy rural French village looking out at a wooded valley with glimpses of the mountain peaks to the south. Just a few kms away is our nearest town with supermarket, shops, bar / resturants and weekly producers market. If you want to seek outdoor adventure then the mountains are but a short & easy car journey away with breathtaking views in all directions, perfect for cyclist and hikers.
We have lovingly created a unique and exciting yurt camp full of colour and personality, that gives a feeling of home from home.
You are free to explore our grounds of 3ha where you will find all 4 yurts, the swimming pool, the lake and large summer barn.
Each yurt has been individually furnished giving plenty of character and offers a comfy bed and solar electric for lighting and charging small electrical items. We have selected the best quality yurts we could find and set them well apart in the field to provide as much privacy as possible.
Guests can enjoy our 10 mtr swimming pool, it has plenty of wooden decking area for sun loungers and a calming view across the ancient oak valley.
Our summer barn 'la grange' offers a cooler place to relax in the summer, with its beautifully hand crafted oak beamed high ceiling and wood paneled walls. Relax on one of the many sofas whilst enjoying a freshly ground coffee and indulge with Jill's home made cakes. Here we have a large table for dining and a fully equipped kitchen (including fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle etc.) which guests are free to use.
We offer a wholesome breakfast choice of continental (cereals, fruit, croissants etc.) or english breakfast (sausage, bacon, egg, beans etc.) Also we host a weekly bbq around the pool and there is the option of a delicious Indian meal from our closest neighbour either takeaway or table d'hote style during the warmer evenings.
Our little lake offers a great place to explore and unwind, we have ducks & moorhens, fish, dragonflies, butterflies and of course plently of frogs.
For fun we rescued a rather tidy 70s retro caravan which we parked by the lakeside, Jill has spent many a fun hour painting and fitting out with new fabrics, this is a lovely place to sit with a good book and glass of wine.
For toilets and showers...
There is a flushing toilet in our summer barn and an eco toilet in the yurt field, we do also offer guests a camping toilet if they wish for use in their yurts.
Next to our pool we have created 2 wooden shower rooms with tiled floors and hand basins, all equipped with running hot water.
Upon entering the pool area you will also find a solar shower for use before going for a swim or just great for a quick cool off in the lovely summer heat.
Paul is a very keen road cyclist and can offer a guided or self guided holiday package with the best local or mountain routes, please message for further details.
A little bit more about booking our yurts.....
There is a minimum of 2 night stay all year round except July & August which has a minimum of 3 nights stay.
Yurt prices are based on 1-2 people using 1 bed, if additional beds and bedding is required then there is an extra charge per person per night for up to 4 sharing.
Extra discount is offered if all 4 yurts are booked out at once, this is a great option for families or groups that appreciate privacy and exclusivity.
