The property is situated in the lovely seaside village of Porthtown, a sandy cove on the north Cornish coast. Porthtowan’s beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for exceptional quality and cleanliness for several years consecutively from 2004 through to 2013. In 2017 it was successful in achieving the Seaside Award, Category A- Resort Bathing Beach. This is the highest UK based award scheme recognising Porthtowan as a great beach with clean water coupled with facilities such as toilets and car parking. There is access to the SW coastal path is directly from the beach going east and west. Porthtowan is famed for its excellent surfing beach that is protected by lifeguards in the summer season. This large sandy beach is ideal for families with children and at low tide the accessible beach is vastly extended for great walks along virtually deserted sands. There is a surfing equipment hire centre in the village. Amongst the rock pools to either side of the beach there is a tidal pool for safe swimming. The Cornish Coastal Path raises up to the headlands either side of the cove making this location a walker's paradise. The house has just undergone an extensive top to bottom refurbishment and is a new listing for the 2017 season. Unusually the bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor and the kitchen and large living room are on the first floor. The kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, electric cooker and washing machine as well as storage units and plenty of work surface incorporating the sink and drainer. The very generously proportioned living and dining room has a dining table, chairs, sofa and armchair plus a wall mounted TV. X Box and WiFi. From the living room window the view is of the bracken hillside and a glimpse of the sea. The smaller of the two bedrooms has a double bed and drawer storage whilst the main bedroom has a double and a single bed. There is a hanging and general storage cupboard off the main entrance hall. The bathroom has a wet room style walk in shower plus a pedestal wash hand basin and toilet. The whole house has newly laid attractive laminate flooring and heating is by electric panel radiators. Electricity and all other services are, of course, included in the price.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lana’s place. It was clean, comfortable and within very easy access to the beach and amazing trails for running and walking. Porthtowan is a quiet beach town with a few restaurants and a grocery store, perfect for our family of four. It was a great place to spend part of our kids’ mid term break.

Husband and I really enjoyed our holiday - the house is lovely, recently refurbished in a very modern style (pictures are exactly as it is). Loved the bottle of wine left for our arrival - thank you. Loved not having a phone signal, the Sky wi-fi is excellent. Kitchen is fully equiped with all you will need.
Porthtowan is ideally located for visiting Falmouth, St Ives, Lands End, Newquay etc - the gem of a find was Charlestown, a stunning small habour and used for filming Poldark.
A delightful clean, and fresh house a comfortable home from home.
As well as really loving the house, Lana was both helpful and kind when my DVD stuck. We found the beach wonderful, the local amenities great especially the eateries supply of crab scallops and mussels, which is to our taste, and, loads more available. The local shop deserves a mention if you like hot croissants., and local bread etc. Would we go Again? Most definitely - can't wait!!, Kareen and Beryl.

We booked this last minute, the house was lovely and clean. Ideal for our family of 4. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice base for the beach. Close to local attractions and would recommend the old school bar and kitchen it's amazing.
