About Lara Mellor
Hi. Andy and Lara here! You are bound to meet us and our 2 little miniature poodles during your stay as we live in the main house at the front of the property. We are always pleased to answer any questions you have about the local area or generally just stop for a chat. Although we only moved to Warwkorth in 2016 we have been holidaying in the area for many years and often find we can give the original locals ideas on where to go!! We moved from busy West London and are loving the slower pace of life, friendly people and wide open areas Northumberland has to offer. We look forward to meeting you.

Why Lara Mellor chose Warkworth
We are situated in the centre of the village about as close to all the local amenities as it is possible to be. Being walking distance to the beach is another huge plus for us. It is amazing to see the changes from season to season or even day to day. The studio is part of an original 1800's barn and still retains the exposed stone walls in parts of the property.
What makes this Cottage unique
Guests have shared use of the large walled garden. Being directly on a regular bus route means taking the car out every day is not a necessity. There is also a lot to do directly in the village. Nearby Amble offers boat trips and a harbour. And you can even walk 6 miles along the beach to the next village Alnmouth.

Great base to explore warkworth and the surrounding area

Would recommend to others
Thank you Jonathan. I'm glad you enjoyed our welcome pack and found our recommendations useful. A little bit of local knowledge goes a long way!!
Lovely well equipped cottage .
Great Base to explore Northumberland
Great village location for walks to river castle and wonderful Warkworth beach Several good eating places within walking distance of property. Perfect base to explore Northumberland coast historic castles including Lindisfarne and Bamburgh and many coastal walks.
The location is perfect in our eyes which is why we moved here ourselves. There aren’t many villages with a river, castle and beach!!
We enjoyed our stay at Cross Street. I good place to get out and about. Accommodation has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Only one issue with the power but it was resolved immediately. Would recommend as a quiet relaxing bolt hole to explore the Northumberland coast and villages.
Being tucked away behind the main street in Warkworth you are close to all the amenities yet very quiet as you have mentioned. We are sorry the power tripped during your visit. A flick of the switch and everything was back up running again!! WE hope to see you again if you are visiting the area.
Very comfortable and well positioned holiday flat
Welcoming hostess with wine, tea and biscuits on arrival. Well specced flat and very central in the town., with a variety of eating places. The free parking opposite the flat was often full so had to sometimes park in a side road 200 metres away, but it was a bank holiday weekend.
We are pleased you enjoyed the property and it’s vicinity to local places to eat and drink. August bank holiday weekend in Warkworth is one of the busiest times of the year and the weather was exceptionally good which makes it s popular place to visit There is other local parking if you can’t get into the square.
Warkworth 12th Aug-16th Aug 2019
Lovely cosy studio apartment in the centre of Warkworth, with everything you need for a chilled out stay. Enclosed dog friendly garden, weather permitting a great outside space. Five pubs within easy walking distance all offering food. The beach is a ten minute walk away, perfect for s stroll with your pooch.
Thank you for this. It really helps our guests to get your opinion but the area is perfectly situated for everything as you say.
Warkworth is a great base for many outdoor activities with its many beaches, rivers and the Cheviot Hills all nearby. If you are planning on bringing your 4 legged friend then the beaches are dog friendly all year round as are many of the bars and cafes. Local attractions not to be missed are Warkworth Castle (one of many castles in the area - there must be about a dozen) and the Hermitage. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are only 10 minutes away. For any history buffs, as well as the castles, Hadrians wall is nearby. Don't miss the boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses. If you go in the summer you'll see the puffins and get dive bombed by the Arctic terns - so don't forget your hat!! In the Autumn you should see the baby seals. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink. The Ship Inn at Low Newton sits in a lovely square and even has it's own microbrewery. If it's seafood you are after The Old Boathouse in Amble is the place to go. People travel from miles away to pop in for tea and cake at the Cafe Bertrams in the village. The Northumbrians are a friendly bunch and there is always a warm welcome wherever you go.
