Ancient Trullo in the Modern Part of the City

  • 4 of 5

Trying to book a trullo when you've never been to Alberobello can be daunting because even looking at a map, you can be unsure of where to stay. This trullo is tucked away (literally) in a tiny pocket in the modern part of the city. At first I felt like I had messed up by not booking in the Trulli Zone, but after staying there, I think our location was great! There is a great gelato place at the end of the block! And unlike the Trulli Zone, which is literally a 5 minute walk, or less, we did not have any tourists walking by or looking in, we had a little private outdoor courtyard, and it was definitely quieter than the touristy area. Lusi DeCarlo met us when we got there and was SUPER sweet and helpful! She has prepared a handy folder full of information about places to go and things to do. She was also available to us when we called her. I liked Lusi so much, that I don't want to say anything negative, but I want future bookers just to keep a few things in mind...1. This trullo does not have wifi, and there is no public wifi anywhere in Alberobello. This was a problem for us, so Lusi made some calls and got a friend close by to allow us the use their wifi. It was definitely a bit of a hassle. 2. Even though there is an air circulation vent, there is not air conditioning in the true sense, so the Trullo gets very hot in hot weather. We slept without sheets or covers, and had a circulating fan blowing on us to try to cool down. I would imagine it to not be an issue in more moderate weather or for those used to extreme heat...but we were hot. 3. There is no parking on the street in front of the trullo. Lusi helped us find free parking on a street about two blocks away, and we could walk everywhere, so it wasn't an issue for us, just something to be aware of. We loved our Alberobello experience and highly recommend going there! This Trullo is ideally situated and Lusi is "trulli" a pleasure to deal with!

Great House

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 families at the house and there was plenty of room for everyone (3 floors) and it was very comfortable. There were a lot of games including darts, air hockey table and ping pong table in the garage. Great outdoor fire pit, chiminea and gas grill.

Watching the stars in the hot tub at night with a glass of wine was just beautiful. Plenty of dishes, silverware, etc and very comfortable beds. We were surprise that there were 3 king beds so all 3 sets of parents had plenty of room.

Thank you to the homeowners for making us feel right at home and sharing this beautiful house.

Beautiful home and beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We brought a large group of friends and had more than enough room to sleep and play. Kids played in the yard, fed the birds and small mammals, and loved hiking in the Carson National Forest. Adults had coffee on the front deck each morning and a fire in the chiminea each night. Our group loved our time in Red River.

Booked a house for the first time on VRBO and was not disappointed. Took my wife, kids and her family and the house great. Sits on 3 levels and the kids had their own play area downstairs with a TV. They also spent time when they weren't running around outside playing air hockey, ping pong and darts in the garage.

My wife was happy with all the amenities in the kitchen. Gas grill out on the porch was all I needed. Beds were comfortable although my wife was more descriptive in this area. It was soft for sure and we all slept like babies.

Had a good time under the stars at night making enough s'mores on the chiminea to make an elephant sick. It's all in the details here folks, there were even s'more making wires in the kitchen drawer. Hot tub felt good too. All they needed was an open bar to make this place perfect.

Thanks for opening the beauty of a house. Look forward to coming back.

Perfect Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful and our family never felt like we were renters as it was a beautiful and comfortable home with everything you need to grill, etc. The beds were very comfortable with dreamy sheets as my wife put it. The house was in a great location and we felt safe letting the kids run around. There was some nice amenities such as a great back deck with a hot tub, chiminea and plenty of seating. We are looking forward to coming back again.

All my family and I can say is, "Wow!" The pictures on the website don't do this house justice. There was plenty of room to spread out 3 families without being on top of each other. There was a great downstairs area for the kids to hang out and do their own thing while the grown-ups had the upstairs. The bedrooms have a beautiful and elegant rustic feel with extremely comfortable beds and sheets.

There was a newly added back deck and hot tub that was the bomb to soak in every night.

It only took a few minutes, maybe 10 or 15, to get to town.

We usually stay in town but it was worth the short drive because we saw a lot of wildlife and the house backs up onto the National Forest, which was so incredibly beautiful.

This house had tons of games including a ping pong table, dart board, horse shoes, board games, etc along with a chiminea that was awesome to light up under the most incredible star show we looked up at every night.

Thank you to the homeowners for sharing this amazing house. We can't wait to come back.
