Great property, with communal kitchen and location near beach the highlights.
Reasons for not rating 5 stars are:
WiFi limited range and performance (unfortunately a modern day issues with 6 teenagers, Netflix, etc)
No bags or boxes for re-cycling. Topical issue and highlighted amount of re-cycling waste from 3 families during 1 week
Kitchen rug and vacuum cleaner smelt of dog hairs.. Particular issue for 2 guests with allergies
3rd floor shower does not operate if other 2 showers are being used
Absolutely beautiful house
Clear communication professional quality
House is wonderful with high level appliances and furniture- wonderful location
Had a wonderful week staying at Surfside. It was perfect for us with three generations staying , plenty of rooms and the large kitchen dinner/ sitting area perfect .
The location was great as we could walk to beach / shops / restaurants. Lovely holiday .
Spacious and well laid out accommodation
Ten of us (aged from 3 to 73) stayed here for a week in February and had a brilliant time! The spacious, clean, airy and very comfortable house is well kitted out for large families/groups. We were able to spend time all together or split out to suit ourselves and always be in total comfort.
It’s a very short walk to Crooklets Beach and only a few minutes longer in the other direction into Bude itself. For us it was the perfect location and base for a truly great winter family break.
Beautiful holiday home
After a long journey we arrived in this beautiful home. It impressed us from the minute we walked in. The pictures don't do it justice. With a large family all the three large reception rooms were fantastic for us to spread out. With sky in each room everyone was happy and especially in the middle room the children loved the Games console. Superb equipment from top of the range coffee machine, stove, fridge freezer and excellent washing and laundry facilities. The house looks newly decorated and upstairs all the bedrooms too are well appointed with superb bathroom facilities. All in all couldn't fault the house it exceeeded all our expectations.
The position is perfect too..just a few minutes walk to Crockletts Beach and into Bude itself. So close on arrival we parked the cars and didn't use them again until we left. We are definitely returning ...can't wait.
Excellent stay in fabulous property
Really enjoyed our stay in this fabulous property. As other reviews state, it is only a short walk to a lovely beach with a great café and play areas for the kids.
The house itself is well appointed, with all the mod cons to make it a home from home experience.
During our stay I lost the diamond out of my engagement and was completely gutted! Upon leaving we asked the owners/cleaners to let us know if it was found. Unbelievably I received a call to say that they had found it upon cleaning the property. Nick couldn't have been more helpful in returning it and I am very grateful for it's safe return.
Fabulous house, fabulous owners, fabulous cleaners!
Would love to stay there again.
Bude has everything! As well as the N.T Coastline, its rolling countryside is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Bude has become a centre for all things active, be it a 140 ft abseil down the magnificent cliffs, surfing the Atlantic breakers, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, mountain boarding or sailing.
Alternatively, laze the day away on miles of life guarded sandy beaches or bathing in Bude’s famous sea pool. Followed by a cream tea! All this and a host of wet weather attractions are within walking distance or a short drive from the house.
Meander from the sea lock along the canal’s flat tow paths, flanked by nature reserves-ideal for bird watchers, walkers, wheelchairs, buggies and bikes.
For History lovers, visit Bude Castle Heritage Centre, Stratton Battle ground, picturesque Clovelly harbour, or king Arthurs Tintagel, both within ½ an hour.
Plymouth National sea life centre, the Eden project, lost gardens of Heligan, Port Isaac, Padstow and more are all within a day trip
