Beautifully renovated thisproperty has 3 double bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with bunk beds) and sleeps up to 6. The second bedroom and bathroom are accessed via the beautiful enclosed courtyard which is adorned with Bougainvillea and Jasmine and has dining table, chairs and BBQ for Al Fresco eating. The top terrace is the ideal place to sunbathe while admiring the fabulous views over Nerja and the sea. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 has a power jet bath and both have showers. The whole house has been charmingly renovated with a taste of Moroccan style and very attractive features. The comfortable and charming living room has Spanish TV and Free2View English TV, (which also gives you access to your favourite TV and radio programs), DVD player and a wood-burning stove (for the winter). The dining room very comfortably seats eight people. What to do in the area: There is plenty to do in the area. The local historic caves of Nerja are just a walk away. The list of things to do is never ending. Relax and visit a beautician, a spa, have a massage or Reike. Or go and play golf, go paintballing, quad biking, scuba diving, to the aqua park. Visit the cultural Picasso Museum in Malaga, the Alhambra Palace in Granada, the Mesquita in Cordoba and much much more. There is something for everyone.

We have lived in Spain in the Alpjurras since 2003. We spent 3 years doing up the property in Orgiva and subsequently rented it out for holidays. We spent any spare time that we had, searching for another property but this time near to the sea. We were delighted when we found this old town house in the little Spanish village of Maro. We love the Spanish way of life and enjoy renovating properties. Although we both grew up in the UK (me in Surrey and Nigel in Manchester) I had spent 6 years living in Spain in the 1980's and wanted to come back here to live. Nigel was looking for a new adventure so was more than happy to try Spain.
Zoe Cawthorn purchased this house in 2010
This old town house is in the quiet Spanish village of Maro. within walking distance of bars, restaurants and a couple of shops. It is 5 minutes drive into Nerja or 30 minutes walk. The property has been done up to a high standard and is very comfortable. Well situated for sight seeing, shopping or just relaxing. Has wifi free wifi and booth Spanish and UK television.
It is an authentic Spanish village. The bourganvilla in the courtyard, the views of Nerja and the sea from the upstairs patio and the way it lent itself to be modernised whilst being able to keep the character of the house, are what made us choose this property over the many others that we looked at over the 8 years it took us to find it.
The house is in a lovely little town and we spent a lot of time in the patio or enjoying the local bars and restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped and the window opening into the garden provided a handy serving hatch for meals, all of which were eaten outside as we had beautiful weather.
The inside is however very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a Moorish theme.
When we did have a slight problem with the hot water Nigel was round within hours to sort it out.
A lovely house and would definitely recommend!
A lovely villa with excellent facilities in a beautiful location. Zoe and Nigel were very helpful and it was good to know they were around if you needed any assistance. We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely return
We (2 adults & two children) spend one week in this very nice house in the village of Maro. The house is very comfortable and lovely decorated. We love most the rooftop-terrace at night with a wonderful view over Nerja and the coast and the court for breakfast. From the house you could easily go to beach of Maro (15 minutes walk) or drive to Burriana Beach at Nerja which is much more busy in summer. There are a few bars and restaurants in Maro for Lunch or Dinner and small supermarkets.
A great thanks to Zoe and Nigel, who let us be guests in their lovely townhouse!
We stayed for four days with five and had everything we could wish for. Very good service from the owners - before, during and after our stay. Everything in the house worked. Comfy beds. Small beach with down-to-earth restaurant nearby. Super!
Thank you for a lovely holiday stay - comfortable and cosy house in a very pretty Spanish village. The weather has been kind to us which has made it more enjoyable particularly going home with a suntan!! See you again maybe.
Superb location in quiet unspoiled village with good public transport to Nerja tourist venue, which is also walkable in 45 mins or less. All amenities and room, nice patio from which 2nd BR and BA open, adequate heating for "winter" - biased by good weather a little! Recommended ++++
In the heart of the historic, coastal village of Maro and just a 45 minute drive from Malaga airport. This beautiful unspoilt village is one of the very few in such original condition along the entire coast. The village is still mostly inhabited by Spanish people. Just a few kilometres from the hustle and bustle of the busy coastal town of Nerja this tranquil little village is a peaceful retreat. There are a handful of restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk and Maro beach is only a 15 minute walk away through farm land. Nerja is half an hours walk along a very popular walking/jogging pathway and only a few minutes by car. The famous caves of Nerja are nearby and the picturesque mountain village of Frigiliana only a few minutes drive away. Maro is a superb location for basing yourself as it has excellent access to many popular places that are of interest to holiday-makers, such as The Alhambra Palace and the city of Granada, Sevilla, Ronda, Malaga, Cordoba and many more.
