About this property

Delightful Maine Home with Panoramic Views of Water and Sky!

You will simply love our place. It has three bedrooms with pillow-top king, queen and double beds, two bathrooms plus den/TV room. Located on the 'Quiet Side' of Mount Desert Island with panoramic views of Blue Hill Bay and surrounding Islands.
PERFECT for couples (very comfy KING bed, amazing water views, lovely private deck) and/or for families with 2 more bedrooms.... a wonderful retreat. Pet friendly too!

Very private, woodsy setting yet accessible to all the delights and wonders of ACADIA NATIONAL PARK. Fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops. Oak hardwood floors in all bedrooms. Fireplace with hand-painted Portuguese tiles. Nice basement space with Foosball table and washer/dryer.

Spacious decks (bring your yoga mat for sunrise/sunset practice) and screened porch. Bring your bikes, canoe, kayak: plenty of storage space available. Also high speed wireless internet access of course....bring your laptop, tablet....or not....you could just disconnect and really relax.....!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
DO YOU HAVE WATER ACCESS? No, we do not have waterfront property. Yet the ocean breezes and sounds of the gulls following the lobster boats in the cove can fool you. It is fair to say we have the most spectacular views of the water...better than our lower level neighbors.
IS IT QUIET? Yes, it is very quiet. Our land abuts an old Maine cemetery.
CAN CHILDREN PLAY OUTSIDE? Yes, we own 10 acres and are situated at the end of a long private driveway.

This home offers you everything. Wonderful peace and quiet to meditate, read all those good books, make a fresh seafood meal and completely feel at ease. Also a great base for all the amazing outdoor activities available on Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.

You DO deserve a vacation.

WE WELCOME YOU!

Not Up to Par
The house is greatly over priced & the pictures really do not represent the facility. It’s an older home that has been kept up but not what we expected. The view from the deck is of trees. If you stand up & lean just right you can see the bay. Now if you take everyone upstairs off the master bedroom you can get an ok view of the bay. Note: bring binoculars if you really want to see anything. No A/C & it was really warm for October. Heat really didn’t come on much and only in the early morning when it got the coldest. No matter how we turned the thermostat. Thank goodness for the fire place & adequately providing wood. The bedding and towels were old and thin. Not what you would expect from a weekly rental. Overall I would rate a 4.75 out of 10! It is on the quiet side but that really means you are a good 30 to 45 minutes from anything you may want to do. Would we stay again? Absolutely not! On top of everything the host was not a nice person.

Paradise in the treetops
My husband and I stayed here with our 3- and 6-year old and had a wonderful time. It was an incredibly relaxing and well-appointed home. We couldn't see any other houses or people the whole time we were there - our own little oasis. And we had a blast with the foosball table in the basement. Highly recommend!

Perfection!
We had the BEST time during our stay at this home!!! What a gorgeous, airy, clean, well-stocked place it was! The home was on a gorgeous piece of property and it was so quiet and private. Perfect place for relaxing in the mornings and evenings, after spending full days out hiking, shopping, and eating in Acadia Natl Park and Bar Harbor. The location was excellent with easy access to the aforementioned places. One day, we simply stayed put in the house, playing games, reading, and basically just checking out from the world and enjoying each others company. It was glorious. We were so sad to leave!!!

Why they chose this property

Mount Desert Island is a truly magical place!
Acadia National Park is a national treasure.

What makes this property unique

From Acadia National Park website: www.nps.gov/acad/‎
The First Eastern National Park
People have been drawn to the rugged coast of Maine throughout history. Awed by its beauty and diversity, early 20th-century visionaries donated the land that became Acadia National Park. The park is home to many plants and animals, and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic coast. Today visitors come to Acadia to hike granite peaks, bike historic carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.
