The BYRE, located at 19A Kenmore Street, offers quiet, comfortable and character-full accommodation minutes away from the centre of the historical town of Aberfeldy. The former cow byre at 19A has been converted into a two story semi-detached house with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room downstairs. There is also a small front porch. The accommodation comprises one double room and one twin bedded room. There is also a good-sized, newly refurbished bathroom with a walk-in electric shower. All linen and towels are supplied. The property has electric heating throughout, including an electric stove as a focal point in the sitting room. Guests can enjoy the sun-trap patio in front of the house or can make full use of the large garden to the rear of the property. There is a private, gated, car park attached to the house which will accommodate one car for 19A, in a designated parking bay. There is also free parking on Kenmore Street. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a washing machine. High speed fibre optic Wifi is available throughout the property and TV, DVD and video players are supplied. Books, games, videos and DVDs are available for guests to enjoy. This is a traditional stone built property which will comfortably accommodate two adults and two children, or four adults. For larger parties, the adjoining property , Bondhu at 19 Kenmore Street, which sleeps four (under different ownership) may also be available.
The property benefits from its proximity to all the amenities offered in Aberfeldy itself – numerous restaurants, the Watermill bookshop and café, plenty of interesting and unusual shops, and the recently refurbished Birks cinema. The Breadalbane Community Centre is to the rear of the property and provides a swimming pool, sauna and other sports and leisure opportunities. The Moness Country Club also has a swimming pool and leisure activities. All types of water sports are available in Aberfeldy and nearby Kenmore, on Loch Tay. There are many beautiful walks within or near Aberfeldy such as the famous Birks of Aberfeldy, Weam forest walk and public walkways along the river Tay. There are very many longer walks slightly further afield to suit all levels of ability. Aberfeldy also offers a golf course, tennis courts, bowling green and putting green and, of course, provides a central location for visiting all the numerous sights and attractions that Perthshire has to offer.

Lovely cosy cottage in the heart of Aberfeldy, the perfect retreat
We booked the cottage for a 3 night Christmas break. It was lovely to spend Christmas Day there. Vivien had decorated the cottage beautifully for the festive season. We walked around the golf course on Christmas morning, then cooked a leisurely dinner which we had in front of the fire watching Christmas Day tele. It was perfect.
I am so glad you had a good Christmas Kathleen and thank you for leaving the place so clean and tidy. You are welcome back anytime!
Lovely cottage in a great location. Vivien the owner is very kind, greeted us on arrival and had left some basics in the fridge etc for us.
Great wee house. Ideal location, only 2 mins to shops.
The byre has everything you need for a few days relaxing. Homely and perfect in every way.
Thank you Michael and thank you for being such good guests. You are welcome back any time!
Homely cottage with lovely garden at rear of property
Pros : House is nicely furnished with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Situated close to centre of Aberfeldy yet very peaceful setting. Owner very pleasant and helpful.
Cons : Shower over bath maybe an issue for some ?
Thanks for the nice review and thanks for being such a great guest and leaving the place so clean and tidy. I take your point about the shower over the bath. Although this is clearly shown in the pictures and the property description, I understand that it could present a problem for some and it is an issue I will try and address in the future. Thank you.
