Overview

About the property

Sleeps 6. Bed linen, towels, fuel & WiFi included

Spacious 2 bedroom cottage, set in Teviot Valley farmland in the Scottish Borders. Just 10 minutes from Hawick. Ideal base for exploring the Scottish / English borders. Short stays and late bookings happily arranged.

Fantastic rural setting with stunning countryside in all directions. Riverside location, however far enough away to stop young children from exploring alone. Spacious accommodation sleeps 6 comfortably and the large dining kitchen is perfect for conversation over home cooked meals. The area is steeped in tradition and history with centuries old Border Reivers and Common Ridings, abbeys, a world famous textile heritage and more recently, the best off road mountain biking you can find anywhere. There are many walks, cycle routes and nature reserves on the doorstep and at night we have a blanket of starry skies which spans uninterrupted for miles. If you like star gazing, we have amazing vast dark skies here at Colterscleuch. We are also close to Kielder Observatory and only 2 hours from Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park.

The Cottage is your home while you're here and you have private access to the patio garden, shared access to the acre of garden between the house and cottage, shared access to the river. There is off road private parking for 2 or more vehicles in the carport and hard standing to the rear for motorbikes. There is also a private locked shed for cycles, fishing gear etc. Facilities for washing cycles and motorbikes are outside the cottage. If you need any specialist clothing washed or dried overnight, let us know and we can do this for you at the house. We can keep fish in the freezer at the house.
