About David Wilmer

This property is owned by innkeeper David Wilmer's parents. David who is the owner of The Inn at Spry Point, recently sold The Inn at Bay Fortune to Chef Michael Smith after 26 seasons and now running The Inn at Spry Point B & B and Wine Bar

David Wilmer purchased this house in 1997

Why David Wilmer chose Eglington

Our family has been vacationing on PEI since 1968, initially on a camping trip, then for thirty years in an old farm house in Howe Bay. Upon retiring Ann and Ned Wilmer bought land overlooking Eglington Cove and built a retirement cottage with a master wing, loft bedroom with 1 1/2 baths, gourmet kitchen and an open dining-living room so there was great space for themselves. A 12' x 12' foyer separates the master wing from the guest wing allowing for friends or family to be in the guest wing with french doors between the two wings to give an open flow from one wing to the other. Or, if desired the guest wing can be self sustaining and can be rented with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Ann's youngest daughter bought the property next door and has built a three bedroom property because the setting is so desireable.

What makes this house unique

Peace, quiet, and privacy with gourgeous sunrise and sunset views. Easy access to great beaches, golf, and dining.

Lovely Home in an Idyllic Place

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful, well-appointed home for a family reunion and from the moment we checked in, the owner went to great lengths to make sure we were satisfied. I mentioned that the kids were having a little difficulty wading through the tall grasses to get to the shoreline and within a few hours there was a path mowed down to the water's edge! We ate most meals at the house because the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the local fresh seafood. The views are breathtaking and I wholeheartedly recommend this home.
