Welcome to Gorse Cottage!
Gorse Cottage is a tastefully converted property, which was formerly part of a farm complex. It is perfectly situated at the end of a quiet lane, surrounded by countryside, yet it is near enough to walk into St Ives, without the need to take the car. Its location is a rural paradise for those wanting some time away from the crowds, yet who also want to enjoy the beaches and the buzz of St Ives. Rather than seagull cries you will hear the soothing sounds of birdsong and the fragrance of coconut will waft in the warm air from the gorse bushes in the garden.
Dogs are very welcome at Gorse Cottage and the garden is ideal for all the family; a safe haven for children to play or just somewhere to sit and relax after a day on the beach. For walkers there are spectacular walks on your doorstep. Go for an invigorating walk via Rosewall Hill to Zennor taking in the stunning views of St Ives, or stroll up to Knill’s monument which is on St Michael’s Way.
Whilst Gorse Cottage boasts plenty of rural charm it’s a perfect base for visiting the many attractions of South West Cornwall and visitors return year after year to walk along the coast path.
Original artwork can be found throughout the cottage and the well-stocked garden is a delight, reflecting the owner’s artistic flair. There are plenty of games, DVDs and local maps and for the art lover and garden enthusiast there are numerous books to enjoy.
Gorse Cottage has 2 bedrooms with the main bedroom having a double bed and the second bedroom being able to sleep up to 2. The bathroom is on the same floor as the bedroom. Walk in from the garden into a bright open plan well-equipped kitchen, dining area and a living room for up to 4 people with the focal point being a wood burner. You will have plenty of wood during your stay ensuring you are warm and comfortable whatever the time of year. Gorse Cottage has it’s own parking space, free WiFi, BBQ, washing machine, tumble dryer, body boards and a variety of wet suits for guest to use.
With the wood burner, artwork and delightful garden, Gorse Cottage offers a complete ‘home from home’ experience and more.
Sub tropical plants thrive in the mild climate so a visit to some of the county's fabulous gardens is a must. Trengwainton, Trelisslisk Garden, Glendurgan and St Michael's Mount are all a short drive away.
The lovely beaches of Porthmeor and Porthminster in St Ives are regularly awarded Blue Flag for water quality and safety.
For art lovers the stunning St Ives Tate Gallery always has interesting exhibitions and the St Ives September Festival brings an eclectic mix of music, art, theatre and literature to the town.
It is a cottage for all seasons; relax in the tranquil garden in spring and summer or spend peaceful cosy evenings by the wood burner in the autumn and winter.
