About keith wrigglesworth

An Englishman in France, sometimes a fish out of water but always optimistic about this wonderful country. The day I first arrived in Bandol I fell in love with this beautiful region I'm sure you will feel like me that you are in paradise. Bandol is very French, not so cosmopolitan as Nice and Cannes, its more Provencal more real, their traditions are still important, Sundays in The South of France are for the family to be together a la table.

Enjoy your stay. Bon séjour à Bandol !

keith wrigglesworth purchased this cottage in 1993

Why keith wrigglesworth chose Toulon region

We came here to find the delcious Bandol wine which a sommellier in England described as ' The Sunshine of Provence ' and we found our lovely cottage . That was the start of our 23 year love affair with this beautiful corner of Provence

What makes this cottage unique

No need to have a car everything you need is within walking distance, a small supermarket, shops, restaurants, chic fashion outlets, shabby chic fashion outlets, la presse ( if you cant do without your morning paper) the daily market, café bars, boulangeries music, concerts, put on your swimming costume and you can almost dive straight into the med.

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

We just loved staying in this wonderful French cottage. Keith was lovely and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and find out all the local activities we might be interested in. The beaches are just across the road and we loved the local town -full of restaurants and shops. Bandol feels authentic and wonderfully French, without the pretence of some other Riviera towns.

Great location, close to shops, restaurants and the beaches.

We used it as a base for hiking, visiting local villages and wineries.

Cottage has some wonderful features, but would like to see the bathroom and kitchen have a "makeover".

A charming, comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

We used the cottage as a base for our daughter's wedding in Bandol and it couldn't have been more convenient or comfortable. It is in the centre of the old village, but slightly set back and the road is closed in the evening, making it very quiet, but not cut off. The property has wi-fi, double glazing and air-conditioning. It has a lovely sitting out area at the front and is very near all facilities and nice clean beaches. We found the locals very friendly and there were nightly concerts of great variety in the square. There are lots of restaurants of all prices within easy walking distance. Further afield there is Sanary sur Mer by bus, Ile de Bendor a short ferry ride away and a boat trip to the Calanques de Cassis and Marseilles. No need for a car. Keith was a very attentive owner and even provided a new steam iron for our daughter's wedding dress. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would highly recommend this property and its owner.

Wonderful cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

This is a wonderful cottage just 2 minutes walk from the beach, with shops and restaurants just around the corner.

The cottage is larger than it looks, with two lounge/dining areas and a small but adequate kitchen downstairs. The main bedroom is large and air-conditioned, the second bedroom's not so big and without air-conditioning was a little hot at nigh - although I understand Keith has now put a fan in this room which should make it better. The terrace area at the front of the house was a very pleasant place to sit with a book and a drink. Private parking is right outside the house.

Bandol has a good choice of restaurants and is in a good location to explore the area - 10 minutes by car and you're on the A57 motorway. We used the bus service to go to the next village, with a very reasonable 2 euro fare per person, and walked the 10 miles back to Bandol on the Sentier du Littoral, which follows the coast all the way through woods and past attractive coves - I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys walking.

Will try to stay here again if we ever come back to Bandol.

Idyllic Holiday Cottage

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful 'Provencal' style house in an excellent location in Bandol. Very close to the shops, cafes and restaurants and five minutes from the sea but in a quiet location with a lovely terrace to while away the afternoon with a good book and a glass of wine.

We shopped daily at the local produce market and cooked in the small but adequate kitchen. Keith was very helpful and had thoughtfully provided all the extra bits and pieces needed when cooking.

Public transport was good with the bus stop being only one minute away with buses going frequently in both directions along the coast.

We definitely hope to return one day.
