'A little known secret Bandol is wonderful in September still very warm, the beaches less busy and the Med quite beautiful'.Also in and around Bandol in October/November is so special the fire and gold colours of the vines are breathtakingly beautiful in Autumn. If you like people watching Bandol has some superb outdoor cafe bars where you can sit watch the world go by.
Wireless Internet connection, iPod player/charger.
We came here to find the delcious Bandol wine which a sommellier in England described as ' The Sunshine of Provence ' and we found our lovely cottage . That was the start of our 20 year love affair with this beautiful corner of Provence.
Great location, close to shops, restaurants and the beaches.
We used it as a base for hiking, visiting local villages and wineries.
Cottage has some wonderful features, but would like to see the bathroom and kitchen have a "makeover".
We used the cottage as a base for our daughter's wedding in Bandol and it couldn't have been more convenient or comfortable. It is in the centre of the old village, but slightly set back and the road is closed in the evening, making it very quiet, but not cut off. The property has wi-fi, double glazing and air-conditioning. It has a lovely sitting out area at the front and is very near all facilities and nice clean beaches. We found the locals very friendly and there were nightly concerts of great variety in the square. There are lots of restaurants of all prices within easy walking distance. Further afield there is Sanary sur Mer by bus, Ile de Bendor a short ferry ride away and a boat trip to the Calanques de Cassis and Marseilles. No need for a car. Keith was a very attentive owner and even provided a new steam iron for our daughter's wedding dress. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would highly recommend this property and its owner.
This is a wonderful cottage just 2 minutes walk from the beach, with shops and restaurants just around the corner.
The cottage is larger than it looks, with two lounge/dining areas and a small but adequate kitchen downstairs. The main bedroom is large and air-conditioned, the second bedroom's not so big and without air-conditioning was a little hot at nigh - although I understand Keith has now put a fan in this room which should make it better. The terrace area at the front of the house was a very pleasant place to sit with a book and a drink. Private parking is right outside the house.
Bandol has a good choice of restaurants and is in a good location to explore the area - 10 minutes by car and you're on the A57 motorway. We used the bus service to go to the next village, with a very reasonable 2 euro fare per person, and walked the 10 miles back to Bandol on the Sentier du Littoral, which follows the coast all the way through woods and past attractive coves - I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys walking.
Will try to stay here again if we ever come back to Bandol.
A wonderful 'Provencal' style house in an excellent location in Bandol. Very close to the shops, cafes and restaurants and five minutes from the sea but in a quiet location with a lovely terrace to while away the afternoon with a good book and a glass of wine.
We shopped daily at the local produce market and cooked in the small but adequate kitchen. Keith was very helpful and had thoughtfully provided all the extra bits and pieces needed when cooking.
Public transport was good with the bus stop being only one minute away with buses going frequently in both directions along the coast.
We definitely hope to return one day.
Great little cottage located just off the main beach and harbour side road in Bandol. Two minutes’ walk from the beach and 30 seconds walk from the nearest supermarket, restaurant and the Bandol casino.
My wife and I had a great time there for a week this summer. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio at the front of the cottage, having breakfast and watching the world go by. There is parking for one car and the road immediately outside the house gets closed off after 7 in the evening so it is quiet at night.
The kitchen was adequate (could do with new cutlery), but we ate out every night at the numerous restaurants in the town.
All in all, would definitely recommend.
Bandol is also famous for its very good wines diagonally across from my house is The Maison de Vins where you can taste and buy wines from over 50 different producers of Bandol wine the building and the interiors are stunning. My favorite place is the ile de Bendor just a 5 minutes ferry ride away, wonderful.
