CASA JULIETTA is a comfortable and spacious house with the BEST VIEWS, over the Atlantic up to Mount Teide on Tenerife (12 200 ft - 3700m). With an all glass façade, you can enjoy the view from every room. At an altitude of 330 ft (100m) the climate is pleasant all year. Exploring nature (HIKING especially), SWIMMING or simply RELAXING and enjoying the view are the things to do.
You'll find plenty of IN and OUTSIDE SPACE to relax and dine. The kitchen is immaculate and FULLY EQUIPPED with dishwasher, oven, kitchen aid, espresso and coffee machine (washing machine and ironing board in the basement). Our housekeeper (a professional child educator) will greet you and help you with anything you may need.
There are two bedrooms with SUPER KINGSIZE BEDS and private bathrooms (one with tub/shower and another with shower) and adjoining balconies. A third bedroom has bunk beds.
The upstairs living room has awesome furniture (Togo by Ligne Roset). Relax and enjoy the view or take the stairs that lead to a LARGE ROOFTOP TERRACE with sun lounges.
CASA JULIETTA is recently built, functionally equipped, has white walls, DESIGN FURNITURE and spectacular views. Do not expect a casa rural (a traditional cottage with small rooms and windows, to shut the sun out), but a modern house with open spaces, WINDOWS FROM FLOOR TO CEILING, full of light.
Although on the outskirts of town, it is CLOSE TO several excellent and cosy RESTAURANTS, local BARS, a well assorted SUPERMARKET and a local BUS STOP (guagua) - all within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
PLAYA Santa Catalina is a10min walk. At the end of the beach (strong current here), you’ll see a footpath that leads to the SEAWATER SWIMMING POOL of ‘El Pescante’, a natural whirlpool cut out in the rocks, constantly refreshed by waves. The water is crystal clear. Little fish invite children to play – remember to bring water shoes for them because of the rocks. Be careful, as the road that leads there is under repair. This is a perfect spot for swimming when the sea is calm.
An exceptionally BEAUTIFUL BEACH (Playa de La Caleta) is in the vicinity (15 minute drive through Las Nuevitas). San Sebastian has a well protected beach, Playa de La Cueva, where you can swim all year round, even when the sea is very rough.
Hermigua is an AUTHENTIC VILLAGE in the northeast of La Gomera, away from the hassle of tourism. Close to the house centuries old HIKING TRAILS start of, going through the valley and banana plantations, passing historic houses and chapels, climing up the hills up to bizarre rock formations, water reservoirs, (abandoned) villages, towards the Unesco World Heritage laurel forest in the national park Garajonay.
Just let us know how you like to spend your time and we will give you our best tips!
As it is new on the market, the house is offered for a reduced price.
Long term rent is possible.
We speak Dutch, English, French, German, and a little Spanish too.
Please let us know what we can do. We can help you to book a direct transfer from the airport (Tenerife Sur) to the house through the Mesa company. Or our friend Alberto can arrange for a car waiting for you on your arrival from the ferry, or bring one to the house whenever you wish.
To catch the ferry from Tenerife to La Gomera, your plane should arrive before 5 pm. On your return, take off should be after 10.30 am. Compañia Fred. Olsen offers the Trimaran Benchijigua Express and Naviera Armas the Volcán de Taburiente (max. 1 hour, dolphin watching included!). While waiting for the ferry in the harbour of Los Christianos, go to the local bar to watch what goes on: El Theatro del Puerto. Have a tapa and a beer. Cheers!
How to get there:
The house is easy to find, along the main road (Carretera General 98B viv. 7) tucked just behind the village of Hermigua, and part of a small urbanization project with splendid modern architecture with local stones and wood and respect for tradition. Neighbours are close but discreet and extremely friendly.
1) From the ferry in San Sebastian, take the direction of Hermigua and Valhermoso.
2) In Hermigua continue along the main road to Agulo. Pass the supermarket (Spar) and the gas station (Disa).
3) At the roundabout to Lepe, continue to Agulo (left upwards), Then look out for a small urbanisation project with a few houses with large glass windows, on your left.
4) Casa Julietta is the first house, second garage, nr 7. Park in front of the house, along the main road. Enter the garage (there is some furniture from a friend there – please don’t touch) and you’ll see the glass entry hall. Welcome!
