NEW charming house in the historic centre of Bruges

Our charming house (fully tastefully refurbished and start to rent March 2011) is situated in a quiet little street of the centre Bruges. The house offers all comfort with full equipped kitchen. On the main floor, there are a hall with toilet, a living room with a dining room corner and kitchen.

Next to the kitchen there is a lovely terrace. On the first floor there are a 2 persons master sleeping room and a bathroom with a toilet. On the second floor there is 2 / 3 persons sleeping room with a view to the Belfry !

We spent in this apartment four nights at the beginning of June 2011. The location of the apartment is fantastic. You are in the very heart of the town and yet it is very quiet there. The lane is so narrow that there is hardly any traffic - perhaps several cars use the street in a day - hardly any noise. The apartment is tastefully decorated and well furnished. In the kitchen you will find all you need during your stay. Everything - kitchen utensils, sink and bathroom faucets, light switches, etc. - are of better quality than you find in typical rental apartments, and it all looks new. Beds were comfortable. The apartment has a small and nice patio off the kitchen, where we enjoyed coffee and cold drinks in the evening. My communication with the hosts - Filip and Ann - was excellent. They met us in the apartment upon our arrival. Four bottles of local beer - Zot - were waiting for us on the tray in the leaving room. Very nice welcome. Filip and Ann are very nice and helpful. Before our arrival, Filip did a big favor I asked him for. He purchased for me Westvettern beer which can be bought only in the Trappist monastery in Westvletteren (quite a distance from Bruges). On the whole, our experience surpassed my expectations and I can without any reservations recommend this apartment to anyone planning to visit Bruges. It is suitable to any type of visitors - families with children, couples on a romantic trip, or young people

THE PERFECT HIDEAWAY.

3 lovely nights in the lovely city, and we found a great place on the coast(Knokke), the house was perfect in a great place in the centre, a short walk to all the main attractions in a very quite street, will be back again next year.

Lovely property, friendly owner and great location!

We were very impressed with the property on our recent stay in Bruges. Very clean and tidy with a very nice kitchen and bathroom. Small courtyard is a bonus too. Fantastic location - very short walking distance to Markt, the Belfry, Church of Our Lady, and about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. Filip was very friendly, left clear and welcoming instructions and returned our security deposit in good time. I would definitely recommend this property!

Very nice apartment but communication and check in could have been smoother

We loved visiting Bruges and this apartment is well located and very clean and comfortable. We were disappointed not to be able to enter sooner than 4:45 pm as we were coming from the US and we were very tired at the end of a long trip. We were supposed to be able to get in at 4 but couldn't reach the owner who had to buzz us in remotely. We have kids and it was hard to wait around for 45 minutes trying to reach him. Then there was no apology for the lack of communication. Despite this start we enjoyed our stay and the apartment is comfortable. Note that the first floor is quite dark as the apartment is in an alley. Also the stairs going to the 2nd and 3rd floor are very steep -almost like a ladder. Not a problem for us but could be tricky for older people and people with very young kids.

Beautiful but, unfortunately, very inconvenient

This apartment is beautifully decorated and super clean but pictures deceive you on how inconvenient the apartment is.

We are a family of 4 that were traveling with 4 normal sized suitcases. We were not able to get them to the second or third floors. The staircases are STEEP and narrow.

Another inconvenience is getting to the apartment by car to unload your luggage. To get to the apartment by car you have to go into a super narrow alleyway. We rented a VW Tiguan and we almost couldn't pass through the street.

Another inconvience: sleeping with the windows open. We stayed at the apartment during the summer. There is no air conditioning so we had to sleep with the windows open. That would not have been a problem but thanks to the inconsiderate neighbors that were partying way past 1 in the morning and the mosquitoes that literally devoured us we were not able to sleep.

One last thing that bothered us: the owner charges for cleaning and towels (which is normal) but you have to leave it in cash at the apartment...and they don't even give you a small bar of soap at the bathroom!
