Sea Risk is such a fabulous place to stay. The accommodation is simple and clean, but has everything you need, including a washing machine. We stayed in the downstairs apartment and really enjoyed using the garden which backs straight onto the beach. Our 3 year old loved running in and out of the sea and playing in the waves right on the doorstep – she also loved the snorkeling. The reef is just there a stone’s throw from the apartment and is full of sea life, including a reclusive turtle – she is generally to be seen around 4pm. We saw lots of brilliant fish including angel, trigger, lizard and squid to name but a few. The supermarket is a 10 minute walk away, or you can drive 10 minutes for a bigger shopping centre. We hired a car and were able to explore. Our favourite beach was Alleynes Bay about 15 minutes by car north of Sea Risk. We parked in the road opposite Lone Star and walked down. We saw turtles every time we went and even a MASSIVE manta ray – wonderful! Dr Cool gives 15USD massages, on the sun loungers which are a must. And Juju’s beach bar is good for drinks and food. We often bought food from local vendors selling delicious food out of their vans – home-cooked and fresh.

We watched the sun set every evening from the patio and swam until the sun went down. If you don’t want to leave the apartment you just don’t have to – it is all there! The little bookcase full of books is also very useful for fast readers who have not brought enough books with them.

Al is such a diamond and was so helpful and friendly. He made us feel so welcomed and is a very generous and genuine man – we love him!

Stay at Sea Risk and you will not be disappointed. We will return in the future and will definitely stay at Sea Risk again. Can’t wait.

Owner's Response: Julia, Your recent trip to Barbados and "Sea Risk" was so long in the planning that I am delighted that you and your family were not disappointed. From what you told me on returning from your many excursions, you really enjoyed the "Bajan Experience" in every way.......down to the delicious meals from the wayside food vans !! Sometimes I think I should move across to 'Sea Risk' and really enjoy all the facilities and delights it has to offer. My best regards to all the family and look forward to seeing you all back again real soon.

A haven for rest and recharging.

Sea Risk was absolutely wonderful. As soon as we arrived it felt like home. The beach and sea are right out front, great for swimming and snorkelling. The patio is large and very comfortable. A well equipped kitchen meant we really never had to leave. Al was superb. He was there for anything we needed and his rum punch is out of this world. Will definitely return again and again.... keep the rum punch cold for us Al!

Owner's Response: Kelly, One of my main objectives is to make "Sea Risk" feel like a 'home away from home' and I'm glad that you experienced it during your recent stay. Would you believe that I have not gone snorkelling there in over 10 years but I always hear how magical it is from all of my guests. Thanks for your very kind comments and rest assured I'll have more chilled rum punch to greet you on your next trip.

Somehow, when I wrote my review, it came up 3 stars. NO way, more like 5 plus stars is correct. As stated before ,perfect cottage, clean, well stocked ,perfect view. The owner, Al is the icing on the cake.

One of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in.

we can't wait to spend two weeks next year. Counting the days to our return.

Thanks for sharing your bit of heaven with us Al.

Nice place --Great landlord!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 9 days in the upper flat at Sea Risk and had a really enjoyable stay! The house is so close to the beach its almost crazy!!! The place itself is basic ,clean and safe with most of the amenities that will need for your stay. The beach out front has a live reef and the snorkeling is fantastic water shoes are a must! Also the sunsets a pretty special toooo. We basically had the whole place to our selves for our time there. Al the owner lives just across the street and him and his family are fabulous people!!! We will eventually make our way back to Barbados and will stay with Al for sure!!! Thank you Al for a great trip and all your help!!!!!

A slice of heaven on earth 🐢

  • 5 of 5

We fell in love with the island when we visited last December but can honestly say staying at Searisk and being looked after by our host, Al, this trip surpassed all our expectations. Searisk can only be described as a slice of heaven on earth! It is THE perfect holiday destination - on the beach with views which are second to none, where glorious sunsets can be enjoyed from your own lounger, with a banks beer or cooling rum punch! It is the ideal base from which to explore the island, with a bus stop at the front of the house, or if like us you hire a car there is ample space to park in the drive, but be warned it can be hard to leave the tranquility afforded by a virtually deserted beach. I have a passion for turtles and with Al as my guide on 'turtle watch' not only did we witness adult females laying on the beach 'twice' but we had hatchlings visit our beach garden on a number of occasions. The reef to the left of the house was a magical place to snorkel (several times per day) where we swam with what came to feel like our very own turtles. Al is a wonderful host with the most infectious laugh who brings joy to everyone he meets. He is the special ingredient and through allowing us into his life and circle of friends, gave us an unforgettable experience. Sadly our 2 week holiday in paradise came to an end but before leaving we had to secure our return next summer - three weeks booked and already counting the days!!

Owner's Response: Hi L & F, I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your recent stay at "Sea Risk" Your review has me somewhat blushing but as long as my guests are happy, then I am even more happy! However, beware...........next year, I will not be leaving my warm bed at midnight to roam the beach looking for turtles !! Was great having you and look forward to seeing you again next Summer, Al
