My wife and I spent 9 days in the upper flat at Sea Risk and had a really enjoyable stay! The house is so close to the beach its almost crazy!!! The place itself is basic ,clean and safe with most of the amenities that will need for your stay. The beach out front has a live reef and the snorkeling is fantastic water shoes are a must! Also the sunsets a pretty special toooo. We basically had the whole place to our selves for our time there. Al the owner lives just across the street and him and his family are fabulous people!!! We will eventually make our way back to Barbados and will stay with Al for sure!!! Thank you Al for a great trip and all your help!!!!!
We fell in love with the island when we visited last December but can honestly say staying at Searisk and being looked after by our host, Al, this trip surpassed all our expectations. Searisk can only be described as a slice of heaven on earth! It is THE perfect holiday destination - on the beach with views which are second to none, where glorious sunsets can be enjoyed from your own lounger, with a banks beer or cooling rum punch! It is the ideal base from which to explore the island, with a bus stop at the front of the house, or if like us you hire a car there is ample space to park in the drive, but be warned it can be hard to leave the tranquility afforded by a virtually deserted beach. I have a passion for turtles and with Al as my guide on 'turtle watch' not only did we witness adult females laying on the beach 'twice' but we had hatchlings visit our beach garden on a number of occasions. The reef to the left of the house was a magical place to snorkel (several times per day) where we swam with what came to feel like our very own turtles. Al is a wonderful host with the most infectious laugh who brings joy to everyone he meets. He is the special ingredient and through allowing us into his life and circle of friends, gave us an unforgettable experience. Sadly our 2 week holiday in paradise came to an end but before leaving we had to secure our return next summer - three weeks booked and already counting the days!!
This was my second stay at Sea Risk and hopefully won't be my last! The apartment is in an amazing location, right on the beach on the beautiful west coast of the island. Be sure to bring your snorkel to swim with the amazing variety of fish and the turtles that come to feed on the reef right outside the apartment.
Al is such a fabulous host and makes a mean rum punch! He is always on hand to ask any questions and regularly checks in to make sure everything is ok. Sea Risk is like a home from home, has everything you need and is kept clean and in good condition.
Hope it's not too long til I return to my second home. Thanks for all your hospitality Al!
Firstly I want to say what an amazing guy Al is. Very genuine, helpful and just makes this place even more special :) . We stayed her from the 17th March for 11 nights and when we pulled up outside the villa we knew this place was special. The location is just perfect right on the beach and pretty central to get to anywhere on the island. There is a bus stop just outside the villa and a five minute wall there's a local supermarket where you can get everything you need. We stayed on the ground floor of the villa which had everything we needed. Washing machine, cooker, beech towels, sun loungers and air con in both bedrooms. Al even provided us with washing up liquid and most important rum punch. The villa is well kept, not modern but very rustic and very very clean. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe space including a safe and a Tv in one of the bedrooms. I think the only thing which could make this perfect would have been a hammock on the balcony just to really soak up the amazing location and view. There is a brilliant reaf just to the right side of the villa and the fish we saw was great. The turtles came to visit us from time to time also, brilliant!! There was quite a bit of dead coral on the beach and only a few places right buy where you could walk out to sea without hurting your feet, but take some diving shoes and there's no issue and you can snorkel as soon as you get in and see all the marvellous fish. There's a few great bars just walking distance and Hol Town is a must. Great restaurants to suit any pocket. If there is anything you need or want to know, Al is the man and only lives over the road so close buy to take care of all your needs. We've been to some lovely places and this has to be one of the best, people, location and Al just made it perfect for us and we hope to be visiting Al again very soon.
We spent 12 superb days at 'Sea Risk' (downstairs apartment) in October 2015 as guests of Al ... a true gentleman in every sense, Al was the perfect host, giving us our own space to enjoy Sea Risk whilst ensuring that we were happy and enjoying our stay. As our 'Barbados Home' for 12 days, 'Sea Risk' was amazing, accurately matching the advertised description, clean, well maintained and a perfect location at Fitts Village. We have warned Al that we will return(!) to stay as his guests soon ... all in all a truly memorable stay, enriched by Al's warm and easy going personality. Thank you Al!
Three friends and I stayed in AL's house for a week this August. It was absolutely amazing. The beach is beautiful and generally pretty private which is a nice change from the bustle of some of the more popular beaches. IL Tempio beach bar was a great little beach bar that was a 5 minute walk down the beach. All in all a great location on the west coast. Al is amazing. Helped us get a ride set up from the airport, checked on us throughout our trip and was very helpful throughout the whole time. Great place with a great host and amazing island! We will be back.
Welcome to Sea Risk apartments, located in Fitts Village in the parish of St. James, Barbados.
The property was recently renovated and boasts the beautiful Caribbean Sea as its backyard. There is a reef to the left of the beach front of the property which provides for excellent snorkelling and you may even be able to catch a glimpse of the turtle who lives there. There is also a clear area directly in front of the property for those who simply prefer to relax in the calm waters.
We are forty-five minutes away from the Grantley Adams International Airport and the taxi fare should be around BD$ 80.00 or US$40.00 for two persons. The Cruise Ship Terminal is around a 10 minute drive.
Bridgetown, the island´s capital, is fifteen minutes South of Fitts Village, and Holetown, an extensive shopping and dining complex, is ten minutes to the North. There is a local supermarket (Jordans) within walking distance and public transport is right out at the front entrance.
