This quality 3 bed penthouse apartment at the very popular complex of Duquesa Del Mar has 2 x large sunny terraces and wonderful views across the marina to the sea.

This quality 3 bed apartment enjoys a wonderful position in the prestigious complex of Duquesa Del Mar, just 50 metres from the sea on the south coast resort of Golf Del Sur. The apartment enjoys 2 sunny terraces both with sea views. With a combination of the side and front terraces you have genuine all day sunshine. Internally the apartment is spacious and very well furnished. There are 2 x twin bedrooms and 1 double. Air conditioning is supplied but on a meter basis paid locally.

The kitchen is modern and well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge / freezer.

A real feature of this property is the large terrace that wraps around 2 sides of the apartment.

Patio doors off the living room lead to the large side sunny side terrace with views to the marina. The master bedroom has it’s own terrace at the front of the property once again with magnificent sea views.

The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and its own terrace.

The 2nd bedroom has twin beds with an ensuite.

The 3rd bedroom has twin beds and access to a family bathroom.

The complex has a lovely pool area (heated in winter) with plenty of sun beds. There is no rush to get your position by the pool in the relaxing complex of Duquesa Del Mar.

The complex is just a 5 minute walk from the Golf Del Sur marina with its sea front restaurants, bars and shops.

A 15 minute walk will take you to the resort centre called San Blas. Here there are 3 pretty squares with boutiques, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, banks etc. The more commercialised resorts of Los Cristianos and Las Americas are just a 20 min drive away.

The property internally is dated and the bathrooms are tarnished

The site of the apartment is first class and access via the lift is very easy .

The views are first class and the balconies offer sunshine from lunch to dusk.

However on stripping the bed on leaving the pillows were badly stained.

The bathroom furniture is extremely dated and the shower unit in one bathroom was faulty. The toilets were stained and wouldn't! clean and there was a foul smell from the middle bathroom.

Overall it needs a makeover

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. I agree - the views from the huge sunny terraces are magnificent and just can't be beaten. Thank you for mentioning about the pillows - these have been replaced immediately. I would totally disagree with your comment about furniture - it is in our opinion very comfortable. (No mention of that in the previous 5 star review!) We fixed the faulty shower (took 5 mins - next time please just give me a call). The slight smell from the other bathroom was an issue with the drainage on the complex which has now been resolved. We feel this is a lovely apartment , with unrivalled views in a very well maintained complex. We will listen to all comments from our customers to ensure everyone gets the best experience possible whilst on holiday.

Photos don't do apartment justice

Booked this last minute and was a bit nervous as the photos show little of the apartment. There was no need to worry, as it's large, probably bigger than some townhouses we've stayed in. There's 3 & 2 seater sofas; large balcony across the living room and one bedroom and a further balcony from another bedroom. The large balcony has a couple of loungers, plus table and chairs for 4 - a nice place for breakfast or a late evening meal once the sun has gone.

Unfortunately, the double room only has a small window with the worst of the views (although you can still see the sea), but the twin room with it's own balcony gets the sun from early morning until mid-afternoon and the main balcony gets the sun from early afternoon until it sets.

The location itself is fairly quiet - the planes go over, but usually whilst landing and it's not an issue. The apartment block is over a pub (The Wild Geese) but this apartment is the other side of the block and so gets no noise from there. The only noise was from one of the other hotels, but that was always over by 11pm. There's a bus stop and taxi rank right outside the doors, so easy access to wherever. The San Blas area is a 15 minute stroll, with no real hills either way, so perfect for an evening out or a trip to the larger supermarket. There's also a smaller mart next to the Wild Geese which was good for fresh bread and heavier items.

There's also a few restaurants on the same road as The Wild Geese and more down on the sea front - a 5 minute walk.

There's air conditioning in the apartment, although we never used it (mid-August), as the open views towards the sea meant there was always a nice breeze (sometimes quite a strong one), which, together with the ceiling fans, kept the apartment cool.

The complex itself is set on several levels with blocks of apartments on each. This apartment is in the top floor (3rd) of the top block, so not overlooked. There's lifts between each level, although they sometimes take a bit of finding, so no need to climb the stairs anywhere. Pool area is nice, although first week all the loungers were regularly in use, but second week there were usually a few spare. Despite the notices, there were towels on loungers from about 8am and in the first week they were all gone by 11, so you may need to take the towels down. There's no shade at the pool, even from the buildings, so great for sunbathing, but can get quite hot.
