Very nice, clean and tidy. Ideal for our needs.
Perfect location by the river. Hope to visit again sometime.
Fantastic cosy bungalow in a great location.
Outstanding property, in a lovely location. Came up for our granddaughters surprise 18th in Gala. Managed to fit in visiting friends in Greenlaw and got up to Scotts View, and the William Wallace monument. No time for a round of golf. Will be booking again, but for a longer stay next time
Spacious but cosy
Alwyn is a beautifully spacious yet cosy bungalow. Although it was very cold outside, we were very toasty! Beautifully clean and comfortable with everything required for a stay. The kitchen was well equipped and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. Lovely owners - biscuits, tea, coffee and milk were a lovely welcome surprise. We only stayed for a weekend but wished it could have been longer. Ideally located for exploring the borders, we highly recommend this comfortable home. It really is a home away from home.
Location fantastic, warm, beautiful and spotless. It was a "home away" , I do not have the skill of word writing and maybe you just need to visit to understand how special it is.
I know the borders and grew up in Edinburgh, so any visitors wanting to see Edinburgh I would highly recommend staying here.
Why do I say this, well you are 5 minutes by car to the train station which takes you to Edinburgh, you do not want to drive and pay for parking in Edinburgh let alone getting and paying for accommodation in the capital.
For non pet owners like ourselves its thumbs up and I would totally recommend it, and finally plenty of walks for pet owners on the door step.
Thank you for reading my review.
Lovely relaxed weekend!
Perfect property, very well appointed and maintained, a credit to the owner. Lovely welcome gifts of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and other essentials. We have no negative points at all and will be booking again soon. Cannot recommend this property and location enough. Away from main town by just enough, a very short walk to all the facilities required.
A lovely couple of days spent here, just wished it could of been longer.
What a find! House was exceptionally clean, well stocked with everything that we needed. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Hopefully it’ll be for a longer stay so we can explore Melrose a bit more. 5 stars
An ideal base for exploring all the Scottish Borders has to offers including the Abbeys of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso, and Jedburgh. The home of Sir Walter Scott, Abbotsford House, is within
2 miles. Beautiful scenery and walks, including the Eildons, the Southern upland Way and St Cuthbert's Way are on the doorstep. The River Tweed is a popular fishing destination. Melrose is the home of Rugby Sevens and the famous Sevens Tournament takes place in April. The Borders Book Festival is held at Harmony House in June. The Borders Railway operates a direct service every 30 mins to Edinburgh, providing easy access to the City and its attractions - not to mention the famous Festival in August and Hogmany celebrations.
