One bedroom with en-suite shower, small double sofa bed in the living area
I have lived in St Ives for over 20 years, my children grew up here, and can honestly say I would not live anywhere else, I walk, sail, run, swim, all on my doorstep. There are loads of lovely places to eat and drink, galleries, museums and boutique shops galore. The air is clean, the sand is white and the water is blue.
Jackie purchased this Chalet in 2002
Why Jackie chose Saint Ives
The Boat House is a self contained annexe adjacent to the house, nestled in the garden which provides pretty garden views and backing onto a wooded area. The apartment has a light, bright and airy feel, with a balcony which catches the last rays of sunlight in the evening.. It is comfortable and inviting while being a really good base from which to explore St Ives and the surrounding area. It is centrally heated, so comfortable for both summer and winter stays. The location is ideal for those looking for a fun packed outdoors holiday full of surf and sun, as well as those who prefer, galleries, shops and good food. The Boat house is within walking distance from the award winning Carbis Bay Beach, where you can Kayak, Paddle Board and swim. There is a restaurant on the beach front run by the hotel and the facilities are excellent, and restaurants and bars and a supermarket close by. The Beach House has been newly renovated, with a light and airy feel and garden views. There is a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and TV. It comfortably accommodates 2 people, plus there is a sofa bed in the living area for extra guests. There is parking for one car, the local train runs between St Erth and St Ives stopping at Carbis Bay, and there is a Bus stop outside the house, making getting about really easy.
What makes this Chalet unique
The Boat House offers stylish and comfortable accommodation for those on a destination holiday to St Ives, and also for those visiting family or attending functions in the area. It's ideal location makes St Ives and the surrounding area with all it has to offer easily accessible. You will be given privacy to come and go as you please during your stay, but we live on site so can help out with any questions or recommendations for the local area if you would like.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
The property is more than the description with everything, plus extras included. It is a nice quiet location and only 1 minute from the bus stop for all areas and St Ives is 6 minutes away. Parking is easy and off the road. St Ives parking is NOT good and we would recommend anyone to use the bus, even though the bus terminates half way into the town centre, and so it is down hill from there and up hill back. Local to the property (6 minute walk) is a Tesco. If you put the post code into your sat nav it will say you have arrived on your left but it should say right. We have no qualms in recommending this accommodation it is everything plus.
A lovely well maintained and clean property. Perfect location for exploring Carbis Bay and St Ives.
We will definitely return!
Thanks Julie, you would certainly be very welcome
We had a really great couple of nights in the boathouse, throughouly enjoyed our stay as we had everything we needed and more! Warm welcome from Jackie and with st ives being a short distance away we had loads to explore. Tesco was 5 a minute walk away, perfect for self catering. As for the actual boathouse itself it was a great experience with working heating, amazing shower, bed and furniture with instructions on how everything works! Overall great stay and would be very tempted to stay again. Thanks to Jackie and Tim for having us!
P.S we met Nick Knowles in a local bar which made our stay:)
Sounds like you had an eventful stay!, it was a pleasure to host you and you would be welcome back any time
A real gem. Good location, excellent quality, great hosts.
The boat house was absolutely perfect for what we needed. It was well equipped, in a good location, had a great layout and feel. We met the owners who were lovely. It was a lovely touch that Jackie provided some tea, coffee and milk for our arrival. We’d recommend the boat house for couples needing a base to explore. We would love to return.
Great location in a lovely place
The place is a side detached annexe to the house, decorated very nicely. Jackie was brilliant in leaving some milk for us and leaving us to our own during the stay, there was parking on the drive. The train station into st ives is a 3 minute walk downhill (cheaper and easier with no car) and takes a few mins to get there, hayle is also a 5 minute drive.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay, I like guests to have some privacy if they like to, but I do hope you felt able to ask if you needed anything. Thanks for leaving the place so nice and tidy. :)
A real Gem in an amazing location.
We have just had a 2 night break in the boathouse. 2 adults and 2 children and we had such an amazing time. The boathouse is gorgeous and is fully equipped with everything you need even has a milk in the fridge :) Jackie and Tim were so helpful and the communication with Jackie from the minute I booked was second to none. The bed is massive and so comfy and I adored the heated floor in the bathroom. We was left to our own devices which was brilliant. It's a real home from home. We couldn't fault the location. 5 minute walk to the amazing carbis bay beach and to the station when you can get a train into st ives for 2 pound return. There's Tesco around the corner too. Anyone thinking of taking a trip to Carbis bay shouldn't hesitate to stay at the boathouse and explore Carbis Bay and St Ives. You won't regret it. Thanks again Jackie xxx
Thanks Jenna, you were the perfect guests and are welcome back any time. :)
Newly renovated to a high standard, with one bedroom, garden views with sea glimpses, particularly in the winter. Parking for one car. King sized bed, en-suite shower, well equipped kitchen with oven/microwave and hob, coffee machine, and washing machine, sitting room with TV. Comfortably accommodates 2 people, there is an additional sofa bed in the living area (small double), access to the shower room is through the bedroom. The Boat House is a self contained annexe adjacent to the house, nestled in the garden which provides pretty garden views and backing onto a wooded area. The apartment has a light, bright and airy feel. The Boat House has it's own access, you will be given keys and can come and go as you please. The Beach House is only a few minutes' walk from the award winning beach at Carbis Bay, where you can swim, hire paddle boards, kayaks and small sail boats in the summer. Carbis Bay has it's own restaurants, a supermarket and a local shop and post office. At the beach there is a restaurant and cafe, and in the hotel conservatory you can enjoy cream teas, lunches and afternoon teas. With the local branch line train running between Carbis Bay and St Ives and a bus stop just outside the property it is easy to get into St Ives town with it's abundance of restaurants, pubs, boutique shops and art galleries, pasties, fudge and cream teas galore. Local outdoor activities include walking, sailing, surfing and horse riding. Walk along the footpath to the beach following the route of the stream which runs from the top of the hill. Or walk to the top of the hill to local landmark Knills Monument, and enjoy the panoramic views of the coast and surrounding countryside. Follow the coast path eastward to the quiet Porth Kidney beach, which can only be accessed via footpath. Surf at beaches in St Ives and Hayle. Explore Sand Dunes at Gwithian. Walking to St Ives takes around 25 mins along the pretty coastal path. The small local train station at Carbis Bay is 5 mins walk from the house, providing a picturesque train ride between St Ives, Carbis Bay, Lelant and St Erth, where you can pick up the main line trains. There is a bus stop outside the house with a regular service to St Ives town, which takes about 5 minutes. This bus also passes the supermarket. Buses going to Penzance, Truro and other locations also stop outside the house. I can provide phone numbers for local taxis.
